Chapter Text

Yoo Joonghyuk was annoyed if anything pissed.

a few weeks ago he sent his driver off to vacation, reassuring him that he could survive without a driver. he didn't have a license for nothing. but it had been only two weeks and he already found himself marching to the subway station. his car broke down the same day so he had no choice but to leave it and hurry to his next mode of transport.

he could have easily called a cab, but Yoo Joonghyuk was an impatient man and the next closest thing was the subway. he already new there was a train departing at 6:30 am and he was meant to clock in at work 7:20 am.

so the train would do.

his palms fisted and his eyebrows furrowed. he was beyond pissed. and he must have been reflecting that energy very clearly because entire crowds would make way for him to pass without disturbance.

Yoo Joonghyuk did not give them a sideways glance as groups of passers gawked at his handsome figure shamelessly. the time was ticking. and if he arrived late he would get an earful from minyoung his annoying manager, who was the only one brave enough to speak back to him, boss him at that.

it was not that he got scolded everyday, but today he had a QandA stream to do for his fans, whom he absolutely despised. he rarely ever spoke on his lives other than a few grunts and nods. Half the time his fans spent in labs dissecting and understanding him based on his facial reaction, but it seemed his face was limited to only a frown. but his fans didn't seem any less interested in his streams or rather face. so he didn't get why his manager was so stuck up on pleasing them with all these fan live streams.

Yoo Joonghyuk was waiting in front of the closed subway doors at exactly 6:28, he lifted his furrowed face from his watch and stared at his reflection on the glass doors, mentally making a list of his routine for the day.

he could hear giggles and whispers off to his side from a group of school girls.

Yoo Joonghyuk started tapping his foot lightly, with every second growing more impatient.

he looked at his watch again. 6:29 he mentally ticked. straightening his back and shifting the weight of his satchel from his hand to his broad shoulder.

just as the clear glass doors began to separate, he could hear the sound of hurried footsteps behind him.

he ignored it and entered the cart his eyes scanning for the perfect spot. once the target seat was aquired he wasted no time to sit. and only then, when he was seated facing the door he just entered, did he see who was the late runner.

a disheveled looking man who was panting, his back slumped and his face flushed. it looked as if he'd run an entire marathon.

the man finally lifted his head from his half bended position and Yoo Joonghyuk got a good look at his face (not that he was curious😏)

he had eyebags growing from his droopy black eyes. face flushed the same dusted pink as his lips.

probably from the run, Yoo Joonghyuk thought.

he seemed to be almost the same age as Yoo Joonghyuk. his hair black and messy,-

how indecent.

Yoo Joonghyuk diverted his eyes. and instead busied himself with messaging minyoung about his late departure.

after a few minutes of nothingness, the cart stopped at a station, a few people entering and leaving. he watched as a little boy stood awkwardly glancing around, in his hand a clear carrier with insects?

he scanned the cart confused until his eyes froze on one spot, and immediately his face began to shine, his former mood gone.

Yoo Joonghyuk let his eyes follow the boy who was now skipping towards someone, and that someone was the disheveled man from earlier.

-well not disheveled anymore, it seemed the man corrected himself and now he looked more proper, so Yoo Joonghyuk changed his name to ' the man'

' the man ' seemed to be as excited as the bug boy, patting the seat next to him almost pleadingly, beckoning him over. the boy following suite.

Yoo Joonghyuk was a grown mature 25 year old adult. he knew very well to mind his own business. yet, whenever he looked at the man he got a feeling of curiosity. he couldn't understand what or why.

oh,

Yoo Joonghyuk now understood why, the man who was beaming at the boy, his smile lighting the dull cart was....

.....

evil. Yoo Joonghyuk had deemed him evil.

because how could he not. Such an unorganized fool, could only mean danger. Yoo Joonghyuk was annoyed the moment he laid his eyes on him. that adoring smile held sinister intention.

Yoo Joonghyuk narrowed his eyes as it fell on the victim of the smile.

oh the poor bug boy.

the train was nearing his stop, and once it did he couldn't turn back, because as initially said, Yoo Joonghyuk was late for work. but he couldn't call the police on simple speculation. so he decided.

Yoo Joonghyuk nodded to himself and promised he would return the next day to see if the boy was alright.

the train finally stopped at his destination.

when he finally was out, he gave one last glance to the boy and man.

they sat together locked in conversation, the boy saying something enthusiasticly and the man nodding with full interest.

Yoo Joonghyuk turned away and continued his journey.

for the boy. just the boy.
