Chapter Text

“Seriously?! I am not into the whole romance crap!”

“That’s too bad.”

Epel sighed. Walking and talking with Vil was not fun, not in the slightest. As they walked, Epel tuned him out. Epel stared around the schoolyard, the different students looked so happy. Why did he have to be miserable? Why did his housewarden have to be the worst? Epel wasn’t paying attention to his surroundings and bumped straight into someone. He heard a loud gasp from everyone around. He looked up to meet his eyes.

“I am so sorry, I didn’t mean to-“

“Please, do not apologize. I was the one who should have moved, you seem very busy.”

Epel felt himself go red. He hadn’t run into just anyone. He had run into Riddle Rosehearts himself! The tyrant from Heartslabyul! And not only that, but Riddle didn’t get mad, he blamed himself!

“No, don’t blame yourself, I should’ve been looking where I was going.”

Epel heard murmuring around him, people whispering about how Epel Felmier, a freshman, just ran straight into Riddle Rosehearts. The murmur stopped as soon as Riddle looked around.

“Do you people mind? It’s not a big deal that we bumped into each other.”

“Aren’t you gonna yell at him?”

“Behead him?”

“Send him to the headmaster?”

“Silence! All of you! A purposeful shove is the only thing I would punish. I should have all of your heads for this.”

Everyone scattered and left the yard, leaving Epel and Riddle staring at each other, and Vil.

“Epel. This is exactly what I was talking about this morning. Etiquette.”

And he was off again. Epel groaned, rolling his eyes.
“Schoenheit, if I may, may I speak to you?”

“Of course Riddle.”

The two walked off to the side, leaving Epel there on his own. At least this gave him time to slow his heart. “I hate romance” wasn’t entirely true for him. He hated romance, until Riddle. If a happily ever after existed for him, it would be with Riddle. If he had a so-called true love, it would be Riddle. Realizing that gave Epel a different outlook. But, who cares? He wouldn’t tell anyone, and if someone found out he’d call it a rumor. Until Riddle found out. He’d definitely come clean then. Right? Riddle was right handed. Oh god. How Epel felt about Riddle, and he hated to admit this, made him understand how Rook felt about Vil. Obsessed. Knowing the other won’t care about you a lick. He had to admit, it kinda hurt. Riddle would never love him.

When they came back Vil gestured for Epel to follow him, meaning that he had to leave Riddle. Not that he cared. But as they began walking back to their dorm, Epel felt the urge to look back, just for a moment. No. He kept walking, keeping his cool is the most important thing. The two walked back to the portal room, going back to their dorm. The dorm that Epel dreaded. The dorm that he never wanted to enter again. He went back to his room, sitting on his bed. His mind racing. He then had a thought.
