“I’d be happy to. But, Holmes.” I stood and went to his side, slipping a hand around his waist. “I do have a suggestion. While I would never want to interfere in your strategy, it might be best for, er, other aspects of our visit, if you allow me to take the lead. You do not know the workings of the place.”
He cocked his head to one side. “You have explained the rules.”
“The most obvious rules, yes. But there are endless nuances, my boy. And though I used to hide my face and go by another name when I visited, there is still a chance I might be recognised in other ways.” I lifted my hand to his neck, then slowly moved it to cup his chin, hoping he would catch my meaning. “I am not known for being…submissive.”
