Work Text:

In the heart of Tokyo, amidst the vibrant chaos of the city, Kisaki wandered aimlessly through the crowded streets. His mind buzzed with the weight of recent events, the tension between him and Hanma simmering just beneath the surface. Once inseparable allies, their bond had frayed with each passing day, eroded by secrets, lies, and the relentless pursuit of power.

As Kisaki walked, lost in thought, he failed to heed the warning signs around him. The blare of horns and the screech of tires filled the air, a symphony of chaos that shattered the tranquility of the night. In the blink of an eye, a truck careened around the corner, hurtling towards Kisaki with terrifying speed.

Time seemed to slow as Kisaki's instincts kicked in, his body moving on pure adrenaline. He tried to dodge out of the way, to escape the path of the oncoming vehicle, but it was too late. The impact sent him flying, a blur of pain and confusion as he collided with the unforgiving pavement.

Hanma, who had been watching from a nearby alley, raced to Kisaki's side, his heart pounding with a mixture of fear and dread. He had never imagined that their rivalry would lead to such a tragic outcome. Kneeling beside Kisaki, he felt a surge of guilt wash over him, a crushing weight that threatened to suffocate him.

"Kisaki, I'm sorry," Hanma whispered, his voice trembling with emotion. "I never wanted any of this to happen. Please, stay with me."

But Kisaki lay still, his breaths shallow and ragged, his once bright eyes now clouded with pain. Hanma's hands shook as he reached out, desperate to offer some form of comfort in the face of such devastation.

As the chaos of the scene unfolded around them, Hanma couldn't help but replay the events that had led them to this moment. The lies, the betrayals, the fractured trust that had driven a wedge between them. He wondered if things could have been different, if they had chosen a different path.

But as Kisaki's life slipped away, Hanma knew that there were no second chances, no do-overs in life. Their once unbreakable bond had been shattered beyond repair, a casualty of their own ambition and pride.

And as he stood alone in the aftermath of the tragedy, Hanma vowed to carry the weight of Kisaki's death with him forever, a constant reminder of the cost of their rivalry. In the end, he realized, it wasn't power or ambition that mattered most, but the fragile bonds of friendship that had been torn apart by their own hands.

Notes:

I used to really like this ship a while back, and after seeing an edit, I decided to write a story based on the Tokyo Revengers series. I didn't want to stick with the original plot where Kisaki gets into a fight and then gets hit by a truck, so I went with this different setting that I'm really into. I hope you enjoyed reading this story as much as I enjoyed writing it. Please give me a Kudo and let me know what you think!
