Thank you so much to livinginaworldofnoise for having blanket permission, and for writing such a perfect fic for live group reading!
This was recorded in fulfillment of a Voiceteam 2024 challenge which allowed us to modify previous challenges. Long story short, what we have done here is record TWO versions of chapter 1, with the entire cast shuffled around between the two versions.
Each of the following two files contains BOTH reads of the chapter. One has been edited to include music and effects (thanks LadyEn!), and to exclude errors and casual discussion we had while recording; the second has effects added but includes all our foibles and chatting.

omg hahahahahahahahaha i was so surprised when i saw the email about this because i constantly forget this fic exists and is still technically one of my WIPs LMAO thank you all so much for bringing ch1 to life i was deeply entertained!! love the zoom chaos on the live version and the sound effects in the edited version sent me into outer space fr (also the reverb on the ghosts had me dying 😭). it was so cool to hear it with two different casts as well!
seems like now there probably has to be more chapters so this goes on for infinite voiceteams idk! among us has so many updates now with new roles and bigger lobbies so that would be mega chaos i will think on it hehehehe

LMAOOOOO stop i can’t believe this fic and podfic have both gotten updates in the year of our lord 2025…hilar that i have inflicted this upon us all i am so entertained thank you very much <333 the among us sound effects are like the funniest thing in the world to me as is the ghost reverb (and the concept of telepathy tupperware hahahaha) and i adore the music intro/outro AND the cover art is so beautiful <3

omg impeccable timing i just got to the airport a million hours early so this was extremely fun to listen to <3333 ig with the rest of my time here i should think about writing another chapter of this LOL i can’t believe it’s almost caught up!!! u are all slaying i laughed very much and now the three other people at my gate probably think i’m crazy
nie huaisang simultaneously being the most suspicious and least helpful crewmate in every round is very important to me,,, also the way he often votes correctly despite being of no help to his teammates…he is crazy but he is free <3

  Also, I straight up cut at least 15mins more of figuring out parts and highlighting, so much chaos! I tried to keep the funny bits and make it sound like I didn't cut whole sections of chatting (which I totally did...)

omgggggggggg ok iconic amazing showstopping had so much fun my plane is literally on the move so hopefully i can type out a comment before we really take off LOL but i enjoyed this so much i agree it’s so perfect for a multivoice fic and you all did a wonderfulllll job bringing these characters to life in their silly little among us games <3333
to show my appreciation i will post ch6 like…tomorrow. probably (assuming i’m still alive after i take this overnight flight sitting next to two random children)!!! it’s like at least half-written now, tysm

also OMGGGGG THE SURVIVORRR FIC ok deadass i’ve been thinking about writing a survivor fic every day for the last several months and i did plot out a tgcf survivor fic to see what that would be like but i just haven’t felt inspired to actually start it bc i’ve been kinda out of writing mode. BUT bc i want to write a survivor fic so badly i think i’ll try plotting an mdzs survivor fic and see if that’s the right place to start instead bc i love survivor so much it could be so fun!! i’m also undecided about whether it’ll be normal prose with social media reactions (a la the cooking/baking show fics) or even fully epistolary so i have much to mull over but tysm for the support <3 the survivor music playing killed me
omg ok my plane is speeding up i gotta type faster lmaoooo also it made me laugh when you said i’m so good at responding bc i love responding to all my comments but i am WOEFULLY behind right now so ty for the inspiration to tackle those when i get home <3333

  OKAY now *I’m* the one waiting for transportation and with comment time on my hands. So survivor AU. I think it could work as half narrative prose/half epistolary BUT it could also work as a full Social Media AU because have you seen how these new era players love their twitter fights?? These girls love to tussle! LWJ, of course, would be a Genevieve with one (1) private Instagram account.

    i have saved some compilations of jeff being messy and i lovvvvve when he says that hahahahaha nhs would be so funny in that role. when i was plotting the tgcf survivor au i also considered wei wuxian for the host role bc he would piss everyone offffff. tgcf survivor is/was gonna be heroes vs villains which could also work as a format for mdzs but lowkey maybe blood vs water could be a fun concept for them! maybe i just have to commit to an extended survivor universe with seasons for mdzs and tgcf lmao

  I’ve heard your mic before and it wasn’t like that, so something strange was afoot. You were a lot quieter than others, I adjusted you up throughout. I’m actually wondering if the wrong mic was connected to zoom; the computer mic rather than whatever you usually record with perhaps. It’s a shame we didn’t notice in the moment, but it was definitely more noticeable in the recording.
  But we can hear you so it’s fine! It’s just not reflective of your normal rich vocal tone ♡
  There was a lot of unusual background noise from pretty much all of us, so do not fret about it, this type of live reading isn’t about audio quality so much as the delight of doing things live and together 🥰
