Monthly Pains

Summary:

When Lani gets period pains, she knows the one person she can count on.

Notes:

I'm on my period and I want comfort. This is that comfort, hopefully others need that comfort too.

Work Text:

Waking up with cramps in the middle of the night was never a fun experience, and one Lani hated with pure passion. The pain in her abdomen was eating away at her, and this was something that she just had to stop. As she looked around her dimly lit room, Lani found a bottle of pills sitting on her nightstand. A sense of relief washed over Lani as she quickly reached over to open the bottle, only to feel dread when she realized it was empty. Great.

The pain just kept getting worse with each passing minute, Curling into a ball in her covers, she tries to distract herself from the pain, but that does nothing, and she doesn't want to bother Noodle this early in the morning. She hated waking her up from her sleep, and she also knew her girlfriend hated being woken up early before she was ready, thinking about it just made her chuckle.

Not wanting to disturb her, Lani decided to tough it out and wait until a more reasonable time to ask Noodle for help. Hoping the pain would subside on its own by then.

This wasn't working. Grabbing her phone, she immediately swiped to her contact list, looking for Noodle's name. Once she had found it, she called and waited, biting her bottom lip, hoping Noodle would pick up.

"Yes?"

Hearing Noodles voice already gave her chills, but hearing it slightly annoyed just made it a bit better, But it's not the time for those thoughts she had something else much worse to deal with. "Hey Noodle, uh, I hope you don't mind that I called so late because I know how much you hate that and—" Lani stopped herself when a sharp pain hit her abdomen, sending a sudden jolt up her back. "待ってて、すぐ行くから心配しないで." She heard Noodle's voice through the phone turn from annoyance to worry, with the rustling of sheets on her end. After the pitter patter of feet and the sound of a door, the phone hung up.

"Hopefully she'll be here soon.." Lani whined, clutching her midriff from under her covers and burying her face into her pillows.

"僕はここにいるよ, 必要なものは何でも揃う." Noodle said as she walked into Lani's room. Looking up from her pillow pad, she smiled fondly as her girlfriend set everything down. "You've done this a lot, huh?" She asked, trying to seem better than she is. "Don't change the subject." Noodle said as she gave Lani her pain meds, setting down a glass of water on her nightstand. Sitting down on the bed, Noodle rearranged the pillows into a more comfortable position, taking the blankets wrapped around Lani and draping them equally between the two.

Picking up the remote from the foot of the bed, she put on a movie they would both enjoy. "Also, we've been together for about two years. Of course I know how to take care of you." Kissing her girlfriend's forehead and pushing a strand of hair out of her face. Lani smiled weakly, wrapping her arms around her girlfriend as comfortably as she could, nuzzling her face into her girlfriend's stomach. "Thank you," she mumbled weakly.

Seeing the tiredness in her eyes, Noodle sighed, continuing to play in her girlfriend's hair. "I think you should get some sleep, you're kinda out of it." She pointed out. Lani nodded, snuggling slightly further into Noodle. The girl just chuckled at the childishness of her partner, turning her attention to the movie. Everything slowly became white noise to Lani, who was slowly being lulled by the call of sleep.

"おやすみなさい darling." It was one of the last things she heard before drifting off into deep slumber, feeling comforted in Noodle's arms.

Yeah, she hated being on her period, but at least she got time to spend with her girlfriend. That was always one thing she'd always be content with.

"Wait, how'd you even know when my period started?"

"I have it on my calendar."
