Summary
For a moment, Ricky almost thinks that it had been unfair. Why did he have to be the one enduring these unnecessarily terrible feelings that would end up choking him from the inside had he not admitted anything? Why did it have to be his burden to carry when it could have been anybody else? There was something so oddly bleak about having to be the one with a heavy heart every single time he looked at his best friend.
Because, in Ricky’s eyes, that had been the curse that was supposed to fall upon him instead. He’s always been the kind of guy that would look and watch from the sidelines, it only really made sense that it would be similar for the case of love as well.
