Yonji stood outside of the princess's room, keeping guard. He bowed at his sister as she followed behind the queen.
“Reiju.”
“Yonji. Have you seen Sanji?”
“Last I saw he was with Zoro in the kitchen.” Yonji admitted.
“Of course Zoro is in the kitchen. He must be off duty trying to get free booze from Sanji. Thank you, Yonji.” Reiju bowed before making a quick haste to follow the Queen.
“Yonji?” Cosette called from behind the door.
“Yes, your highness.”
“Please just call me Cosette! Anyways can you come in here and help me zip up this dress?” Cosette asked.
Yonji carefully opened the door and blushed as he saw Cosette's opened back. Her ears tinted pink in a blush. He walked over and carefully grabbed the zipper and slowly pulled it up so as not to snag it. As soon as he was done he stepped back. “All done Your- I mean Cosette.” Yonji bowed his head.
“Thank you, Yonji. Did I hear Sanji is in the kitchen cooking? Oh I want to ask him for his spicy seafood recipe! It's papa's birthday soon and I want to make him his favorite dish.” Cosette explained, turning to face Yonji with a smile on her face.
Yonji felt a blush creep up his face. He cleared his throat before speaking. “I think it's best we leave Sanji alone for now. I believe Zoro is keeping him occupied.” Yonji explained.
“Then would you mind accompanying me to the garden?” Cosette asked, giving a warm smile.
“Of course, your Highness.”
“Yonji!”
“Right! Of course, Cosette.” Yonji corrected himself, holding open the door for her.
Cosette smiled and reached her head up and gave Yonji a peck on the cheek. “Thank you, Yonji. For always being there for me!”
Yonji's face turned as bright as Ichiji's hair. “O-Of course!”
As the two made it to the garden they passed the king with Ichiji & Niji on either side. Yonji bowed in respect as they passed.
“Oh Yonji. I've been meaning to ask you. Where are your parents? None of your siblings or you have ever mentioned them. So I'm just genuinely curious is all.” Cosette asked, gently plopping down next to the Tulips to prune them.
“Oh. Our mother died when we were young. Our father however. He died of poisoning.” What Yonji didn't feel the need to mention was that it was Reiju who poisoned him to get back at poisoning her for a decade to make her immune.
“Oh that's awful! I can't quite imagine my mama & papa dying when I was young.” Cosette frowned, gently placing the tulips on the ground.
“It's quite alright. Father made our lives terrible after our mother died.” Yonji admitted, rubbing his left arm.
“I see.” Cosette picked a rare Green Tulip and stood up. She walked over to Yonji and handed it to him with the biggest smile on her face. “Well I'm glad you became my knight!”
“Me too!” Yonji smiled, taking the tulip in one hand and gently taking Cosette's hand in his other. Placing a gentle kiss on the back of her hand, making her blush. “I hope I get to continue to serve you in any way I can, Cosette.”
Before Cosette could answer, there was a crashing sound coming from the kitchen. Alongside that, Sanji's screaming could be heard. The two chuckled and made their way to the kitchen with Cosette's arm full of tulips.
