The first time he sees the boy he's sitting in Derek’s AP English Literature and Composition class sucking the tip of a pen into his mouth. It's intoxicating, the way those ruby red and plush lips fall open; the way he sucks mindlessly on plastic and ink like he has not a single clue what it might allude to.
