Halsin had run the gauntlet many times over. Good practice, even as new forms grew easier to slip into with experience. He’s had 350 years of life to perfect that sense of self-control as much as the shedding of one body for another. Hells, he’d mentored countless numbers of druids in his time at the grove - taught them ways to keep their head, even when sight and sound and smell threatened to overwhelm their senses, render them giddy against instinct.
But even with all that, there are times when he struggles.
