Welcome to the City of Phoenix Wright

Summary:

As a bunch of new cells adjust to a new city, two cells meet each other amidst turbulent cirumstances.

Notes:

This is a sequel to my first fanfic. I decided to write this for a Discord friend of mine, XxAngeliclilkittyxX, due to our mutual love of Osmosis Jones/Ozzy and Drix and the Unwind dystology.

Chapter 1: Arrival

Chapter Text

Mayor Samuel Oblongata was not a very happy cell. First, his city, Phoenix Wright, gets into an accident that permanently damaged the eyes. Then, he gets a new pair of eyes that came from Phoenix's close friend Maya Fey.

"Sir? Aren't you going to welcome the new cells?" an advisor asked.

"In a minute," Samuel sighed. He looked at the screen one more time before leaving his office. Heading down towards the elevator, he started practicing what to say to the cells from the City of Maya Fey, and the cells that came from the blood transfusion during the surgery. He felt like he should begin with an apology. After all, his city had failed to save theirs. After slicking back his hair, Samuel stepped inside the limo meant to bring him to the eyes. When he got there, he saw a bunch of cells of all ages, the ones from Maya's body dressed similarly to their former city. The cells from the transfusion, on the other hand, were dressed in more common clothes. And is that a cold pill among them? Samuel looked closer to see that, yes, that was a cold pill, who was with who was presumedly his husband, who is a white blood cell, and a teenage brain cell who looked like he was freaking out over his change in surroundings.

"Citizens from Maya Fey," Samuel began, "I would like to apologize for the loss of your city, and the city of Phoenix Wright's failure to save her."

"Well, apologizing won't bring our old city back, now will it?" a cranky old cell asked.

"No, it won't," Samuel said, "and I will always regret failing to save your city."

"And what about the rest of us?" the white blood cell from the blood transfusion asked. He was light blue, with a white shirt and a black and brown jacket and a black beard.

"Ozzy, be quiet," the cold pill said. He was red and yellow, with a yellow cross on his chest.

"I will get to the rest of you momentarily," Samuel said. "Anyway, I sincerely regret that my city has failed all of you, the citizens of the City of Maya Fey. I can only hope that, in time, I'll earn your forgiveness."

......

Paul Jone-Koldreliff (formerly Spryman) has since calmed down after his initial arrival, but he still feels homesick. After all, he was forced to leave his old city, Hector Cruz, so suddenly when Hector decided to donate blood when he and his parents were having a family day together at a park to celebrate his new adoption.

"You seem upset," a voice behind him said. She was rose pink, like the strange 9-shaped stone on the necklace around her neck. She was wearing a kimono-like outfit with a red outer kimono and a pink inner kimono, with flip-flop like sandals with red straps. Her hair was also red, with sad looking eyes.

"Maybe I am," Paul said. "After all, my old city donated blood before I got here."

"It could be worse," the cell said.

"How?" Paul asked.

"Your old city could have been unwound like mine was," the cell said.

"Your old city was unwound?!?" Paul asked, shocked.

"Yeah," the cell said sadly. "She was a great place to live, too. Very beautiful, great spiritual power-"

"Spiritual power?" Paul asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Yeah; my old city was a spirit medium," the cell said. "I'm Rose, by the way. Rose Medulla."

"Paul Jones-Koldreliff," Paul introduced himself simply. "It's very sad what happened to you, especially since you seem to be around my age."

"I'm 14," Rose said.

"So am I!" Paul said. "Did...did your parents come here with you?"

"No; they escaped to the cranium during my old city's unwinding. I wasn't so lucky," Rose said.

"Paul! Time to go!" Paul's pops said.

"Sorry; I have to leave," Paul said. He searched around before finding an old business card. "Here's my cell phone number; you can call me to talk about things if you want."

Rose looked at the business card. "You used to be the mayor of your old city?" Rose asked, now her turn to be shocked.

"Yeah," Paul confirmed.

"Paul! It's time to leave!" Paul's dad called out this time.

"Coming!" Paul called back. "Look; I REALLY need to leave," Paul said.

"So do I," Rose said. "You take care of yourself, okay?"

"Same to you," Paul said before rushing to his parents.

"Paul, what kept you?" Ozzy said, the cell that Paul now calls pops.

"I...was talking to someone," Paul said.

"You were?" Drix, Paul's dad, asked. "How nice! You're already making a new friend, here!"

"I guess," Paul said, shuffling his shoe on the ground.

"Come on," Ozzy said. "Your dad found us this motel to stay in until we find a place to live." As the Jones-Koldreliff family walked to the new unknown, Paul wondered what the City of Phoenix Wright has in store for him.
