"Looking for me?"
Rover announced her presence as she landed on the greenery, her eyes never leaving the woman whose presence she has noticed for some time now. She narrowed her eyes at the woman, noticing how aloof she seemed—a finger on her cheek in a pondering manner.
The mysterious woman turned to look at her with a simple smile on her face. It slightly annoyed Rover.
"Oh," The woman said whimsically, as if she was amused by everything. "There you are."
With no warning, the red woman stretched out her arm and a vine erupted around her and lunged at Rover, its mouth-like appearance widening. Rover, with ease, unsheathed her blade and parried its attack, quickly dashing forward with a huff.
The attacks were continuous. Vines plunged to where Rover was, though she was able to dodge them easily. They landed next to her with a rumble and exploded into beautiful red lotuses.
She could hear the woman chuckling and giggling as Rover dodged each attempt of attacking her.
Rover jumped into the air with a whirl, aiming for the woman. But she was quickly enveloped by the vines, like petals closing in as a bud. But Rover did not lose her composure. She made quick work of her blade, slashing against the "petals", releasing her from its capture with a burst.
She used this momentum to lunge at the red woman, her blade's edge aiming for her neck.
They landed on the ground with a thud as Rover pinned the woman with her blade close to her neck, the edge just barely scraping at the underside of her chin.
Even though the woman was subdued and pinned down with a weapon capable of killing her right then and there, she looked... pleased rather than scared. Her lips were formed into a small smile and her eyes looked at her blade with slight interest.
That was not what Rover expected for her to react.
"You're such a box full of surprises, hm?"
The woman's voice was soft, like she was breathless, and with a hint of amusement behind her words. Rover frowned slightly.
"Who are you?"
"Ah, so we're playing truth and dare now, huh... Oops!"
Rover was immediately irked and slightly thrusted the blade closer to the woman's neck. The woman's immediate response was a laugh, as if this situation was nothing to her.
"Oh dear, getting angry now, are we? Sorry, sorry..." Her smile widened, though the way she looked at Rover changed. It made Rover shiver somehow. "But it's just so much fun to rile you up."
Huh?
Rover could not help but raise an eyebrow at her after hearing that. What can she even respond to that? Somehow, with luck still in her good graces, the woman continued talking.
"You're the first person to pique my interest like this, you know? You have... great potential."
Great potential? The more this woman spoke, the more Rover wanted to drive her sword closer to her neck to make her answer questions faster.
"Answer my question."
Hearing that, the woman frowned slightly, though the look in her eyes did not go away. Rather, it seemed more prominent. The way her eyelids lowered made Rover felt powerless in this situation.
"Okay, so you're not up for small talk. I'll keep that in mind. I mean, you are my mission target, after all."
"Hmph, so you're from Black Shores?"
The woman smiled, her eyes brightening up like a child. "Correct! I'm one of the Bloom Bearers of the Black Shores. This Blake Bloom is our symbol," the woman shrugged her shoulder to where her Blake Bloom was. "It represents our mission to save the world. Well, that's what it says in the rules at least."
So Rover was right. She felt eyes on her for a while now, after learning about the Black Shores from Jinhsi. Rover knew that she was always watched by someone, from whatever faction that wanted her, but this one—this woman's gaze, it felt different. It was as if there was a certain desire behind it.
"What are you planning to do with me?"
The white-haired woman hummed. "Our plans? Ah... what was it again? To recruit as many talents as we can, and save the world from its impending doom." The way she explained was like she was reading it off of a handbook.
"So, are you in?"
Is this woman out of her mind?
"You don't sound entirely enthusiastic with that idea."
The woman shrugged under her, careless of anything it seemed. "I don't. Couldn't care less, anyways. If it's all going to end tomorrow, why not have some fun while we can?"
And there it was again. That gaze. That hidden desire in her eyes.
"To stop at nothing for more power, take down any prey without mercy, and indulge in all our desires for the ultimate pleasure... Isn't that grand?"
Rover tilted her head slightly, feeling the way she spoke was nothing different from the Fractsidus.
"Then how are you any different from the Fractsidus, then?"
"Ugh, don't mention me in the same sentence as them!" The woman groaned, looking outright displeased from hearing the other faction. Rover was taken aback at that. "I've been diligently protecting you, you know? I got rid of a variety of pests that tried to get in your way!"
In a flash, before Rover could even blink, the woman's hand was on her jaw with a tight grip. Rover knew her blade was at the woman's neck, but even with the threat of her head being cut off, the red lady seemed to ignore it.
"I couldn't care less about their petty games, but if they even think of laying their dirty hands on you..." The woman pulled Rover down closer abruptly, making her startle. She noticed how the woman beneath her looked down at her lips and back up to her eyes. "You're mine, and I don't like sharing."
Words could not even describe the degree of shock Rover was in. You're mine, the woman said. She did not understand the implication behind her words, but it was enough to make her lower her guard out of surprise. Her grip on her blade weakened for a moment and the woman noticed it.
In a flurry of movements, the woman was able to whack away Rover's sword and swap their positions, Rover now under the woman with her saddling her lap.
Rover tried to push away the woman but she was able to pin her arms down by the wrists. The black haired woman struggled against the tight grip on her wrists, but it didn't work.
For a person smaller than her, she had an absurd amount of strength to be able to do this.
With no warning, the woman leaned in, placing her lips on Rover's in a kiss. Rover's eyes widened in surprise, mumbling against the red woman's lips in defiance and tried to move away.
Though, like a bee to a flower, the woman tilted her head slightly and she was pulled into a deeper kiss. Rover could feel the woman softly pressing down on her lower lip in a gentle nibble.
"You—!"
The woman pressed on more, her tongue now swiping against Rover's lower lip, making her gasp. She took this moment to deepen the kiss, tangling their tongues in a heated moment. Rover's air was caught in her throat as the woman explored her tongue with her own.
In an attempt to push her away again, Rover bucked her lower body upwards to tip the woman over, but all that it did was made the woman whimper into the kiss, her breath hot against Rover's mouth
Rover struggled to breath through her nose and she could feel a pit forming in her stomach. Her entire body burned with a feeling she could not quite understand.
"I... mmph—worked so hard, you know? Protecting you from those red fiends," She spoke softly against Rover's lips. "Like on your little... date—" The woman bit down Rover's lip. Rover winced."—with the Loong Maiden. Did you think you were one hundred percent safe? I dealt with them for you."
Rover groaned into the woman's mouth; feeling the woman above her grinding her hips onto her abdomen.
What the fuck? What is she—
"You're mine, mm..." The woman whined, her eyes staring down at her with a hazy daze in them. "Mine."
The woman finally pulled away, giggling as she did and placed a peck on Rover's swollen lips. She, finally, let go of Rover's wrists and placed a hand on her stomach as she ground her hips with a chuckle.
Rover stifled another groan that almost escaped her lips and tried to reach out for the woman.
In a flash, vines blocked Rover's view, and in the next moment, the woman was gone. But Rover could hear giggling all around her, like an echo.
"The name's Camellya. Remember that, Rover~"
