Chapter Text
Another year at NYU. It was Connors second year at college and he had one year left to finish his theatre major. He had moved from Provo right after high school because to be honest, he couldn't wait to get out of that boring town. His best friend Chris, who was studying statistics, had come with him and about half a year later the two of them had managed to find a friend group. It consisted of Connor, Chris, James who had been Chris' boyfriend for 4 months now and Nabalungi . The four of them had spent all summer together but now it was time to resume their studies. Although Connor loved going to class he really didn't like having to go back to school, mainly because he just didn't like waking up so early.
It was the first day of class and Connor was walking towards the library since he had some books to pick up for his classes when he saw him. Kevin Price, the tall brunette man with the cutest brown eyes, he was studying childhood education and was in the same year as Connor. Connor liked to think about him as his “hallway crush” God that sounded so immature of him, he was in college now and they didn't even have class in the same building. Ok so “campus crush” then. Yeah, that sounded better.
While Connor was still rethinking the label he would put on Kevin this year he suddenly bumbed into someone. He quickly picked up the books the other person had dropped and when he looked up to give them back he stared into the brown eyes of a certain someone. He got red in the face. “Ehm- here sorry oh my god. These are yours.” He quickly said while giving the books back to Kevin. They were standing face to face now. Well not exactly since Kevin was about 5 inches taller then Connor. And Connor was already pretty tall (5'9) . “Don't worry about it!” Kevin smiled brightly. Connor noticed his face getting hotter by the second. “I- ehm I have to go sorry again. Bye!!” he said while running away before he got even more embarrassed. That was the first time he had talked to Kevin and it had gone terribly. After hiding behind a tree he looked back to see his crush walk up to his best friend, Arnold. Arnold was a film major and had recently started dating Nabalungi though he and Connor still had not met yet. But wait, if he was dating Naba that meant that it was possible for Connor to get closer to Kevin. The only problem is that Connor didn't even know if Kevin was gay.
After classes he met up with James and Chris to get a coffee in one of those overpriced coffee shops near campus. The three of them sat down on one of the tables outside since it was still pretty warm. “Good God. 15$ fucking dollars for three coffees. We can't afford that everyday. It would be even cheaper to finally get a coffee machine into the apartment. What do you think Connor? Are you ready to make that sacrifice?” Chris said while sitting next to his boyfriend, who put his arm around the others shoulder and pressed a kiss on his cheek. “hm sorry what? I was distracted sorry.” Connor responded.
He was distracted thinking about Kevin, the whole day he had been thinking about the meeting they had earlier. “Distracted with what?” James teased before Chris could start with his rant about overpriced coffee again. “Oh.” Connor blushed “I ran into and spoke with Kevin today. It was totally awkward but yeah.”. Chris and James just looked at each other and rolled their eyes before breaking out in laughter. “You are like a high schooler Con,” Chris said “we are 21 you can just ask him out on a date or something.”. “But he seems so straight!” Connor cried. He had been crushing over Kevin since the first week of classes and he got why Chris was annoyed at him about it but like it had been easy for him, he had found James. And god were they cute. And gay. Gay and cute. “Hey look. Isn't he like best buds with that Arnold guy? Nabas boyfriend? Just ask Naba if she can arrange a group meeting and you'll get to know him. That way you don't have to stalk him and “coincidentally” read a book next to his dorm building to see him. You can have a conversation like normal people have.” James requested with a hopeful tone while trying his best to stop laughing. “He doesn't even live in the dorms anymore. He moved out with Arnold.” Connor murmured embarrassed before James and Chris broke out in laughter again. “OMG SO YOU DO STALK HIM! I KNEW IT! NABA OWS ME TEN BUCKS!” Chris screamed.
That same evening Connor texted Naba:
Heyyyy bestieee. How are you doing? How was your first day of class?
Heyy Con. My day was fine I had like one lecture. I met up with Arn this afternoon. You and the others totally have to meet him. And omg guess who his best friend is??
That such a coincidence. Also I already know, I actually just wanted to ask you to arrange a meeting if its possible, I talked to him today T-T.
No shit? Really?
Yes omg I made him drop his books. It was embarrassing.
Ahhhh thats like in a romantic movie I love it.
I guess...
I will definitely arrange a meeting. Arnold says that Kevin needs to go out more. He is like way into studying. That dudes a real nerd. But I'm so excited maybe you guys will start dating!! that would be so fun.
Naba please stop. We don't even know if he's gay. AND DONT YOU EVEN DARE ASK ARNOLD BECAUSE I KNOW YOU WILL.
I wont, don't worry. And luckily you'll get to find out soon. I bet he is. Everyone is gay these days (no offense)
None taken. Also Chris says you owe him 10 bucks because I allegedly stalked Kevin.
Omggg I didn't think you actually do it. I will give it to him next time we see each other hahaha. I have to go now I'm sorry but I'm having dinner with Arnold. Love you Con <3

Two hours later he was added to a group chat. The name read “N Year twU” (He was sure Naba had thought of that). The chat included him, Nabalungi, James, Chris, Arnold and Kevin. Connor quickly saved Kevins number (under Kevin Price just incase someone looked at his phone) and went to sleep. His first class started at 8am tomorrow so he needed to get his sleep. Chris was still out and would probably sleep at James' but Connor didn't even care.
That night he dreamed of Kevin. It was a sweet dream.
