Chapter Text
Being a father was something Valentino never anticipated he might become unless it was for a fur baby. Yet, here he was, awake and holding a sweet baby girl as she cries. Her name was Velvette and she was simply too precious. Maybe Valentino HAD always wanted a baby, but he had only ever mentioned it aloud to himself. Though, knowing Vox, that's how he found out especially with his cameras always spying on Valentino. So then Vox had gone on a hunt for an adorable baby to adopt for them. That's when he came home with the sweet little girl known as Velvette. She was a brat, that's for sure, but never in a way that made them hate her or regret adopting her. After all, a child this young in Hell NEEDS a good family. Despite their obvious problems, Valentino and Vox were dedicated to giving her the best afterlife she could ever want or need.
And back to the issue at hand. Velvette was a particular child and here she was, crying her little heart out at 2 am after a nightmare. Any attempts to soothe her were difficult. Valentino had rushed in the second he heard tears and picked up his new darling, coddling her instantly. It had been a few minutes yet she wasn't soothed. She'd look around, somewhat calming down, before flinching and crying once more. Valentino carried the small girl out of her room and went to the living room. He flicked on a light before sitting down on their large, luxurious couch. His large hands gently held her to his fluff, hoping the soft sensation may be enough to help soothe her. He hated hearing his baby girl cry just as much as he hated losing sleep. She had stopped her loud sobbing, but it was clear to Valentino that Velvette was still very much uneasy. His heart hurt as he looked down at his sweet girl.
From the darkness came the sound of teeny tiny pitter pattering, the sound of teeny tiny footsies on the floor. Then into the light came a small, sweet boy that resembled a fly and a Chihuahua in one. His name was Queef. Valentino smiled softly the second that he saw his baby boy and beckoned him over. Queef replied with a small yip and slowly walked across the living room to the couch. With a small sniffle, Velvette pulled away and looked over to see what made the yip. Her eyes grew big and her mouth opened in shock when she caught a glance of the teeny baby. She squealed loudly then reached grabby hands out, making so many happy, gibberish sounds. Valentino chuckled then scooped the small dog up and held him in his many arms.
"Yes, baby. Queef must have heard us and wanted to come see." Valentino said as he watched Velvette hug and squeeze the sweet baby. Queef was quite happy, looking so pleased with the feeling of being squished and hugged and cuddled and loved. Valentino chuckled softly and pet Queef's big head. Velvette seemed much happier than before, seeming to entirely forget how terrified and upset she was a few moments ago.
"I wuh him!!!" She exclaimed quite loudly. Valentino's heart melted and gave her a small kiss on the forehead.
"Why don't the three of us sleep out here? I can put Bluey on the TV and we can keep the lights on a low setting. Queef can stay with us and I know Vark will be nearby if we need him." Suggested Valentino. Velvette nodded her head lots to the suggestion, her beautiful curly hair bouncing up and down. Valentino had braided her long hair so it would be easier for her to sleep with and to protect it as well.
Velvette settled down and got comfy underneath a pink blanket Valentino and Vox had gotten for her. Her focus was entirely on the TV with wide, focused eyes as she held Queef and pet him. Even Queef was watching with his big bug eyes in the same wide, focused way that Velvette was. Valentino let out a big yawn and leaned back. Everything finally felt better and he was glad to see that Velvette was no longer scared. Slowly, he drifted off to sleep as she watched for a bit more before she, too, fell asleep. Queef joined them next.
In the morning, Vox came out of his room and saw the three of them on the couch. He smiled softly and made sure the blanket was snug over them before heading to the kitchen.
