Work Text:
Jisung stumbles into their hallways just after office hours, having hurried home to have the time to greet Minho by the door before the older man had to leave for his night shift. Minho rarely worked nights anymore, there was always someone younger who wanted the money more and volunteered for the shifts. But the supervisor for the students currently working at his clinic had gotten ill and Minho was best suited to replace him for a few days.
He really did not mind working the night shift, the only downside was that he missed Jisung, they had fifteen minutes together at best on the days Jisung had work and Minho did the night shift.
“Hi, hyung,” Jisung smiles and he is a little out of breath from running up the stairs instead of waiting for the elevator. A silly habit he had kept from their last place, where they lived on the third floor and not on the tenth as they did now. His tie is hanging loosely from his neck and Minho uses it to pull Jisung in close, pressing a kiss against the corner of his mouth before tilting his head to kiss him properly.
“Hi, jagi. How was work?” Minho asks and is helpless to stop the smile that spreads on his lips as Jisung chases another kiss. Their friends called them gross for being so clingy even five years into the relationship. Minho thought it was nice, that they still felt the same way despite having spent so much time together. Never growing tired of one another.
“Good, we found a potential buyer for the Hannam-dong villa today. I’m showing the property tomorrow morning,” Jisung says and the smile on his face does nothing to hide how proud he is to be able to show such a luxury house to begin with. Minho had seen the pictures on their website.
“I’m happy for you, selling houses at that price can’t be easy,” Minho says and he helps Jisung out of his coat jacket but instead of putting it in the wardrobe he puts it on himself. The coat was slightly small on him, the sleeves too short as they had been tailored to fit Jisung, but they had been sharing clothes for years and Minho liked wrapping himself up in the scent of his boyfriend's perfume when they were going to spend the evening apart.
“It takes a very particular type of person to buy it, yes. I’m bringing back up to work on the interior design beforehand, make it more appealing to the client,” Jisung says with a smile and he pats the collar of his coat, straightening out the nonexistent creases.
“Speaking of interior design, is Lix coming over today? There should be enough food for both of you in the fridge,” Minho says and tries to remember if there is enough kimchi to get them through the meal or if he should get them another container from the kimchi fridge.
“Lix is having Korean lessons until eight, but he said he might come later,” Jisung replies and he looks a little starry-eyed at the thought of Felix coming over. Minho is a little jealous- not because of Jisung hanging out with Felix- but because he could not join them.
“I bought a new bottle of that wine he liked last time, you can put that in the fridge,” Minho smiles and he knows they will likely send him giggly texts and messages from their night. Updating him even as he was not there. It was not as good as being there in person, but they were making it hard to feel excluded when they excitedly sent him videos and voice messages whenever they found something funny to tell him.
“Thank you, hyungie. I’m sure Lix will appreciate that,” Jisung says and he moves to grab his bag from the floor where he had dumped it as soon as he stepped inside the apartment.
“I actually got a care package for you,” Jisung pulls a white tote bag out from the depths, kittens playing in the sun printed on the side of it.
“Oh, you did not have to do that,” Minho protests. He was more than fine with the bag he had packed for himself with food and snacks for the night.
“It’s not from me, silly. Felix gave me this to give to you after I mentioned your sudden night shifts to him yesterday,” Jisung smiles and hands the bag over to Minho, his eyes still starry and Minho is starting to feel like he is sharing the sentiment.
Inside the bag is a bento box, undoubtedly filled with cutely decorated dishes and whatever meat Felix had decided to prepare for him. Besides the bento, there is also two separate bottles of drinks, one that Minho had mentioned in passing that he liked and one energy drink, a container of cut fruit and a chocolate bar.
How Felix had remembered what he liked for his night shifts was beyond Minho’s comprehension. It was awfully cute, something he would not have liked from literally anyone else but Felix. Sweet, genuine Felix who did not do it because he wanted something in return. Felix only did it to show that he cared.
“Ask him to stay the night, will you? So I can make you both breakfast in the morning,” Minho says as he carefully folds the tote bag back up so he can put it inside his work bag.
“You might have to fight him for the right to do that,” Jisung laughs- like he is not the beneficiary of Minho and Felix trying to outdo the other with breakfast, lunch or dinner.
“It will be my pleasure,” Minho smiles and he kisses Jisung’s forehead. “I do need to go before Daehyun kills me for being late again. Love you, give Lix a kiss from me, too,”
Jisung smiles at him, pulling him in for another kiss before letting him go.
Minho loves his job but for the first time in ages, he is looking forward to going home after, to his husband and their boyfriend. Or maybe that is exactly why he likes going to work, being able to go home to the people he loves after.
