Mingyu smiling at his phone while texting and looking like he could start kicking his feet was the best opportunity for Jeonghan, who was also sitting on the couch right next to Mingyu, to tease him. Around a few months ago, Mingyu had started seeing a girl named Sunhee. Even though Mingyu had not told them anything, it was quite obvious since when he came back from a hang out with Sunhee because he would be smiling all day and not get upset no matter what the members do, stare at his ceiling with a smile on his face while laying in his bed and more. Of course, it always caused the members to tease him but it was something that Mingyu couldn’t control since he was just really happy when he was thinking about Sunhee.
After going on several dates together, talking and texting almost all day, Mingyu and Sunhee started dating, unsurprisingly. Mingyu had told the other members about his new relationship with Sunhee and everyone was okay with it. There was no problem with them dating since their company was the one who told them they were free to date whoever they want as long as they still worked and the relationship didn’t affect their schedules. Sunhee knew Mingyu was an idol and had met the other members too. “You look like you are staring at a picture of your first crush like a high schooler would.” Jeonghan said while giggling. “Hyung!” Mingyu whined while his face was slowly turning red. “You’re blushing.” Seungcheol said after laughing at the two’s interaction.
Another example of this kind of thing happened when Mingyu came home from a date with Sunhee. He had been taking her on as many dates as he could since they were having a comeback soon and it meant they would not be able to see each other as often as they normally did and wanted to. Because of that, Mingyu wanted to spend more time with Sunhee so they would be spending the time they were going to miss during the comeback time. So, on this previous date, Mingyu picked Sunhee up from her apartment and they had a picnic together at this really nice flower field that Mingyu made sure that no one would see or be able to disturb them during their date together. After spending more hours just roaming around the field and eating the thing they brought to the picnic, they both decided to head home since it was getting quite late and they both had a place to be the next day.
So it was safe to say that Mingyu was really really happy when he opened the door to their dorm and got inside. He removed his shoes and placed them in the shoe rack while carrying a huge smile on his face since his mind was filled with happy memories of some moments ago. He mumbled a song that he was listening to for the past few days and preparing some food for himself since the shopping they did after the picnic had caused him to get hungry. “Gyu?” Joshua called it to him while leaning against the door frame and looking at Mingyu while smirking. “Hi hyung! I’m making some food for myself, do you want some too?” Mingyu asked with eyes shining and a big smile on his face. Joshua giggled at the sight and crossed his arms over his chest.
“Did you come back from a date with Sunhee?” Joshua asked while trying to hold in his giggles. “Yeah, we went on a picnic together! It was really nice, is it obvious?” Mingyu asked while stirring the food that was in the pot. “Yeah, you look like you’re shooting out sunshines from your eyes.” Joshua giggled. “Hyung!” Mingyu whined. Joshua laughed and got his phone out of his pocket while Mingyu was talking about why they should not tease him about going on dates or texting with Sunhee. Joshua hit the record button and adjusted the camera angle so Mingyu wouldn’t be able to tell that he was recording him. “I’m not even the first one to get a girlfriend, why are you teasing me about it! Even Chan teased me about it, Chan!” Mingyu yelled out in frustration, his ears were red and he was pouting. “Okay, okay. I’m not going to say anything about you and Sunhee. At least now.”
Joshua said while walking up to Mingyu. He reached out his hands and held Mingyu’s face in his hands. “We tease you because you are just really happy while talking about Sunhee or just thinking about her.” Mingyu frowned but didn’t say anything. “Let’s eat, is the food ready yet?” Joshua asked, trying to get away from the topic. Mingyu smiled brightly with the question. “Yes! I actually made Sunhee’s favorite food too. We were talking about it today and she told me she really liked this food.” He continued while taking out two plates out of the cabinets above the counter and poured the food in. Joshua giggled at how quick the topic got to Sunhee, without letting Mingyu see him, of course. “Okay, let’s eat it and see if it’s actually good.”
The recording was still going on, but Mingyu did it need to know since Joshua was going to save the joy of watching it for himself.
It is safe to say that Mingyu was definitely not expecting this teasing thing to reach others, especially the quiet members, since it had mostly started with the oldests and others didn’t really pay attention to the fact that he was dating Sunhee. But, he was wrong. One day, as he was packing himself a bag full of clothes that are gone to last him two days, Wonwoo entered into the room that they shared together. “Guy?” Wonwoo called out in a curious and questioning voice. “Yeah?” Mingyu’s voice was filled with joy and excitement as he zipped up his bag that was clearly over packed and was filled to the brim. Wonwoo smirked at the joy in the response he got from Mingyu and chuckled. “Have fun at Sunhee’s house, be careful no matter what you do.” He said in a teasing, almost playful tone that caused Mingyu’s face and ears to slowly turn into a bright shade of red.
“Hyung!” He yelled in frustration while grabbing his bag and phone as he quickly got out of this embarrassing situation. While he was walking towards the door as fast as he could, he stopped by the kitchen to get himself a cold glass of water since he was hoping it would help reduce the redness of his face and ears. As he was chugging down his big glass of water, Jihoon entered the kitchen with a little sneaky smile on his face. “You know…” Jihoon started to talk as he leaned against the counter right next to Mingyu while closely staring at Mingyu. Mingyu looked at him confused, he was now drinking his second cup of water. Just as he was swallowing a big sip of water, Jihoon continued his sentence. “You know, you should pay attention to what Wonwoo told you, he is right. Be careful.” Jihoon said while sipping his coffee.
Mingyu’s eyes went wide and he started coughing since the water got caught up in his throat while drinking it. Jihoon laughed quietly and patted Mingyu’s back as he coughed the water out of his lungs. “You guys are literally insane. I don’t know how I made it alive all these years.” Mingyu said while still breathing heavily. Jihoon laughed loudly and just went right back into his room. “I should stay alive. I don’t know how I made it this far, but I should stay alive.” Mingyu mumbled under his breath as he slowly walked to the front door to get out of the house, as quickly as he could to avoid seeing anyone. But of course, he was not lucky enough to reach the door without being noticed by someone. “Guy, where are you going ?” Minghao asked with a cup of tea in his hand. Mingyu took a deep breath before answering.
“To S-“ He was unexpectedly cut off by Junhui. “To Sunhee, of course. Where can he go except Sunhee’s place?” Junhui threw his arm over Minghao’s shoulder and made them walk to his room without even letting Mingyu talk. So, he was left in the hallway with one hand still holding the front door’s handle and his bag in his other hands with a surprised but done expression on his face. He sighed and opened the front door. “Have fun at Sunhee’s house, hyung!” Vernon called out from the living room. With just a little bit of patience left, Mingyu made a fist with his hand and tried to get rid of his frustration that way while answering. “Th-“ Unsurprisingly he was cut off. Again. “Yeah, call us if anything happens!” Seokmin literally screamed from another part of the dorm. Before Mingyu could get a word out of his mouth, someone started to speak again. “Bye Mingyu hyung!” Chan yelled out while running to the door to say goodbye to his hyung. “Don’t be late to the dance practice tomorrow.” Soonyoung said as he got out of one of the rooms closest to the door. “Yeah, bye now.” Mingyu said when he finally got the chance to. Did his members love teasing him? Yes, definitely. But Mingyu knew that they were doing it because it was their way of showing their love so of course he wouldn’t change anything about the teasing or them even if he was able to.
