Now part 1 is finally here and I’ll write more parts too :)

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Kunikida Doppo, Known to be one of the smartest students in her class. She usually kept to herself, Not wanting to get into any trouble. Kunikida was known to not have any friends either, Although she didn’t mind. But that changed one day, The day she met the brunette.

Osamu Dazai

Ding, Ding, Ding…

School is over… Kunikida thought to herself. The blonde neatly packed away her textbooks and papers into her backpack, She always loved to keep her things neat and tidy. Organisation and schedules were a necessity, She had to keep everything organised. Everything had its place, Pencils in her pencil case, Textbooks in the biggest pouch, Her lunch in the middle pouch, And her water bottle on the side pocket. She was ready to go home, But one of her pens rolled away from her.

Kunikida tried to grab hold of her pen but it rolled across the hallway. She noticed somebody stepped on the pen with their foot. They looked down at the pen and held it in their hand. The stranger then walked over towards Kunikida. She noticed the stranger was female,

Her long brunette hair bounced as she walked over. “This yours?” The stranger held out their hand to reveal Kunikida’s pen inside it. . “Yeah it is.” The brunette handed the blonde her pen, The two stood across from each other, Kunikida occasionally gazing into the brunettes eyes, Then quickly looking away. “I should go..I need to catch the bus..” Kunikida muttered under her breath, Lifting her head to gaze at the brunette once more.

“Oh, Okay. We’ll see ya then.”

The brunette responded after, Kunikida noticed her walk the other way across the hall. Fading into the ground of other kids rushing outside. The blonde sprinted down the hallway and quickly put on her shoes.

“Shit, Shit, Shit! I’m going to miss the bus!”

Kunikida muttered underneath her breath, She had never missed the bus before. She couldn’t be late, She had to be on schedule.

*****************

“You got on just in time kiddo, Take a seat.” The bus driver turned to her and said in a rather gruff tone. Kunikida quickly took her seat at the back of the bus, Her stop was the second last. The bus drive home was always a long one. But she too that time and used as much as she could from it. While others would be screaming their asses off or somehow managed to fall asleep.

The blonde planned her schedule for the following days. Even if the bus was shaky and made her handwriting not as neat. She could still read it luckily even with slightly wavey lines. Despite occupying herself with numerous tasks, The brunette girl she met in the hallway earlier was imprinted into her mind.

The way her soft chestnut locks bounced every time she took a step, Her heart started to flutter. But that was no good, She heard about her before. The brunette was a trouble maker, A class clown. The blonde had a few classes with her, But never payed attention to her until now. But the blonde couldn’t quite remember her name….

Osa…Osamu Dazai!

That’s who they where! Osmau Dazai, She remembered the brunettes name now. But the blonde didn’t want to get herself tangled up in that girls mess. When Kunikida had to deliver some papers to the office occasionally after a teachers request. She’s see her sitting in the detention room, After disrupting the class with blurting out load some random joke. Even Dazais dumb jokes managed to make her chuckle slightly, But than she’d quickly get back to work.

Kunikida felt the bus come to a stop outside her house, She gathered her things and walked down the bus aisle.

“Have a good night sir, Thank you for driving me home.” Kunikida thanked the bus driver, It was something she always did. It just felt right to do.

The bus driver nodded and smiled at her as she got off the bus. The blonde walked inside her house.

***************

“Damn you! She is not going into swimming lessons! She must do piano!” Her mother and father where yelling…again. They’d constantly fight over what was better for her, But in reality she didn’t like anything her parents forced her to do. But she had to do it, They’d be disappointed otherwise.

“Oh hello dear, Now tell your father you aren’t doing damn swimming lessons and your doing piano!”

“Kunikida, Tell your mother you want to do swimming lessons!”

The two went back and forth, She didn’t know how to respond. If she agreed with her mother, Her father would be mad. But if she agreed with her father, Her mother would be mad. She didn’t know what to do.

“…I’ll think about it,” Kunikida mumbled underneath her breath.

“Oh good then, Now go and study and then get ready for church.”

Her mother fixed the front strands of her hair. They went to church every evening, Her parents always said that they wanted to praise the lord as much as they could. Kunikida attended church as long as she could remember, But never really understood many parts from the bible. But she was too afraid to ask any further questions. Kunikida stepped up the stairs and into her room that she always kept neat and organised.

Her parents would freak out and give her a half an hour lecture about organisation and how important it was if she where to misplace one single thing. Although keeping her room neat and tidy was apart of her ideals. With her blonde ponytail slicked back she began on homework and typical studying, writing, and just trying to keep herself busy.

“Kunikida? Are you ready to go?” Her mother knocked on her door as she pinned her hair back.

“Yes mother,” Kunikida replied as she gently opened the door.

Kunikida along with her mother and father went to attend church for the evening, She found herself daydreaming while gazing at the scenery outside. Her thoughts raced as she thought about her..Osamu..her brunette locks…

“What am I thinking?! I cant..no that’s not ideal to be involved with a troublemaker!”

Kunikida thought to herself, She didn’t want to get tangled up in whatever Dazai would get herself into….

****************************

It was late at night, And Kunikda Doppo was wide awake. The blonde couldn’t sleep even if her life depended on it. Even if she kept tossing and turning she couldn’t manage to lull herself to a peaceful slumber. A dry sensation filled her inner mouth and throat, She needed water.

The blonde swayed as she tiptoes down the stairs, Kunikida quietly got a glass from the cabinet and gulped down some water to quench her dying thirst. Now she had no idea what else to do than just try and go back to sleep. The idealist gently placed her empty cup into the sink and tiptoed her way back upstairs. Where Kunikida would lay for the next few hours…

*******************

“BEEEEP! BEEEEP!”

Kunikdia groaned as she dismissed her alarm, She felt brutally exhausted due to her lack of sleep from last night. Even if Kunikida wished she could sleep for the next century, The idealist had an ideal highschool day ahead of her.

The blonde reluctantly rolled out of bed to get herself ready for the day, Wearing her schools usual uniform. Along with brushing her hair and tying it into a tight ponytail that dangled from her head. After making sure she had everything she needed, Kunikida headed downstairs where she came across her mother standing in the kitchen. Her father had work fairly early so he was currently absent.

“Oh hello dear! How did you sleep?” Her mother placed a light kiss onto her forehead,

“I slept well,” Kunikida replied as she prepared some toast for herself, To fill the empty hole that ate away at her stomach.

***************

“Morning, Take a seat.” The bus driver greated her as she stepped onto the bus, Her blonde ponytail swayed as she walked to the back of the bus. It was quieter there at least. Not much quieter though, The smaller children on the bus did make quite an annoying ruckus. The blonde could never be a bus driver, Having to deal with energetic children screaming their asses off while not to mention focusing on the road? Not her cup of tea that’s for sure.

The bus ride to school felt relatively quick anyways, So the yelling of the children subsided. As Kunikida exited the bus and onto the pavement, She felt a small drip of water pour down her face. It was starting to rain, She didn’t have an umbrella. This wasn’t ideal! The blonde knew she would get absolutely drenched later if the rain picked up.

But alas she had no other option other than to just walk to her door and get to class. With Osamu Dazai still on her mind, Kunikida Doppo began yet another day of Highschool
