Chapter Text
Lucy tried to ignore the butterflies as she did her makeup for the evening. It was just another dinner, she tried to tell herself. She took a deep breath in an attempt to steady her hands before attempting to apply mascara. Tonight was not the night to be going anywhere with smudged raccoon eyes.
Looking at her reflection in the bathroom mirror, finishing touches applied, she became a little more at ease. She knew Tim didn’t care what she looked like, he preferred her without makeup, but she wanted tonight to be perfect.
Slipping out of her kimono, she stood in front of the dress hanging on the closet door. It was red, flowy, low cut and sexy as hell. And she would most likely be picking it up off her bedroom floor come tomorrow morning, especially if Tim had anything to say about it. He’d seen the dress when Lucy hung it away, but so far can only imagine the way it shows off her curves, and he can’t wait - he told her so, in graphic detail.
Lucy slipped into the dress, pulling the straps over her shoulders so she could do the zip. Remembering she would need assistance, she padded out to the living room where Tim, all ready to go in his new suit and tie, sat patiently watching highlight reels from the game this week.
“Zip me up?”
He turned slowly, one eye still on the TV, but when he caught the glimpse of red all thoughts of football left his mind.
“I’m sorry, Miss, you’re going to have to leave before my fiancée gets home. She’s the jealous type and you’re way too hot,” he smirked as he looked her up and down appreciatively.
Lucy swatted his arm. “Stop it,” she giggled. “Come help me with this dress.” She turned and lifted her hair to bring it over the front of her shoulder.
Tim touched the soft silky fabric at her waist, and ran his fingers up her sides to her shoulders. Slipping two fingers under the strap, he slid it back down her shoulder, letting his fingertips trail softly against her skin. Leaning forward, he nuzzled into her neck, bringing his lips to the soft skin at the juncture of her shoulders. His mouth was soft and warm as he slowly kissed a path across the top of her shoulder.
Lucy shivered as she tilted her head back, resting against Tim’s chest, ensuring his path was unimpeded.
“Tim,” she sighed, breathing shallowly.
“Hmmm,” he murmured against her skin, “problem, Luce?”
Lucy was having trouble thinking. And breathing. All she was aware of was the hot moist trail of Tim’s tongue as he lapped at her skin, his attentions sending shivers down her arms and spine. She could feel her arousal pooling between her legs. She knew in the back of her mind somewhere that this was a problem, but she was too preoccupied by Tim and his shoulder kissing to pay it much heed.
Lucy was so lost in this exquisite torture that she didn’t hear her phone ringing, it was Tim who drew her attention to it.
“You going to get that, Lu?” He lifted his head and replaced the strap of her dress, moving his hands to her hips, encouraging her to stand forward. As Lucy straightened she became aware of the ringtone assigned to Wade Grey. Lucy rushed forward to grab her phone, answering just before it went to voicemail.
“Hello Sir,” she greeted him breathlessly.
“Are you okay, Lucy? Sounds like you’ve been running,” the older man snickered.
“Ah, just running late, Sir. What can I do for you?”
“Just letting you know everything is set. Just give me the signal and we can start.”
“Thank you. I appreciate your help! See you soon,” she finished as she ended the call.
Tim walked up behind her, hands in his pockets. “What was that about?” he enquired.
Lucy smiled coyly. “None of your business Mr Bradford. Now finish zipping me up. And no funny business,” she warned.
“Yes, Ms Chen.” Tim pulled the zip smoothly as far as it would go, placing a light kiss on the outside of your shoulder.
“You’re beautiful, Lucy.” He couldn’t contain the love shining through for her on his face.
Lucy couldn’t wait. Tonight they were celebrating their engagement with friends and family. But, with the help of Sergeant Grey, Lucy had a surprise wedding planned for Tim.
“I can’t wait to marry you, Tim.”
“I’d marry you tonight if I could, Lu.”
Little did he know, his wish was about to come true.
“Careful what you wish for,” she smiled as she grabbed his hand and headed for the door.
