Summary
The outer banks are a paradise. From the moment the sun rises from the distant waves and sets behind an acreage of willow trees and marshes, the outer banks are practically mythical. Even the rundown, falling apart, low country-esque parts of the landscape attract such rapt attention. There’s such a rich history to the banks as well, all the more reason so many visitors are fascinated with the place. From ghost tales of sickened fishermen, to alluring claims of sunken treasure, whatever you can think of, can be found on those disconnected coastlines.
That is, until a suspected murder shows up one sunny afternoon, thrusting the outer banks and its residents into a missing persons case, a legendary treasure hunt, and the rewriting of island history as they know it. And at the center of it all, is the Pelides mansion.
