Chapter Text
Finney Blake doesn't know what to do at the moment. His mind went somehow blank the moment he heard Robin on the other line, it was as if his mind doesn't want him to accept it and think straight. Robin had just taught him how to use the phone as a weapon and making him practice about 3 to 4 times before he (Robin) was satisfied. Holding the phone tight, he took in a short but deep breath before having the courage to speak up again.
"Will I still be able to talk with you?", Finney said before a short moment of silence followed. Finney was trying to stop himself from crying again, he was telling himself that Robin doesn't want him to cry, Robin wants him to finally stand up and take no one's bullshit. Even so, he really hopes that this isn't the last time he'll hear from his best friend. His Robin. He knows Robin is dead, he knows that the Grabber did something bad to him... He knew all of this the moment he heard his voice on the other line.
"This is the last call, Finn. It's all you from here on out.", Finney couldn't believe what he heard. He finds it hard to believe, hard to accept rather, that his best friend is gone. Finney took a deep breath once more before talking again, "I miss you, Robin.". Finney felt his heart shatter into a million pieces. The friend he cared so much for is now on the other side (at paradise, as to what Finney believes) with the rest of the fucker's victims.
"Then get out for me.", Robin said before another short silence followed. Finney was having a hard time processing and accepting all of this, but he knew he had to suck it up. He needs to get revenge for what that monster had done to his Robin and the previous victims, Finney knows he just had to do something. "Use what we gave you.", Robin said following the sentence he said previously while Finney felt his heart ache again.
"I will.", Finney answered as he held the phone tighter (if that was even possible anymore seeing as how tight Finney was gripping the phone at this point). Then he heard it. He heard the very sentence he didn't want to hear from Robin. "Bye, Finn". Finney felt his eyes sting a bit as tears start to form in his eyes. 'This is not the best time to cry, Finney.', he thought to himself as he was able to spit out the words, "Bye, Robin."
Finney then slowly places the phone back to it's place in order to end the call. Finney's mind that was once full of questions and thoughts was replaced by a sentence. "I NEED TO GET OUT OF HERE."
-------
Once everything was in place, Finney sat on the nasty foam on the ground. He hates the fact that he's waiting for that monster to go to the basement, he never actually think he'd be here waiting for it to appear. This monster's twisted game and mind will be soon put into an end and Finney couldn't wait for it to come.
But then Finney was hit with exhaustion with all the preparation he did backfired at him. He started to feel his back ache a bit from all the work he had done. Finney didn't want to rest or, even worse, fall asleep. He wants to be awake when the door that separets the basement to the house itself opens.
He feels his stomach turn just thinking about the fact that the monster was raise up there in this very house. He was no human, he deserves nothing but eternal pain and suffering. Finney would love to give that to this monster, but he knows that he can only do so much. Finney is just a boy anyway, he is just a kid.
They all were.
Finney blinked as he come to accept that he couldn't fight his exhaustion anymore, he wants to sleep. And so he did.
