    “It's the perfect pet for the lonely. And the watcher. They're always watching, aren't they? And they like being alone. We can raise it and care for it, together. It could come with me on the Tundra sometimes as well, keep the rat population down.”

     


    Elias thought about it. He didn't hate cats. They were clean, independent, elegant and absolute assholes. He felt a kinship, really.

     


    “Fine. Okay. You can get a cat.”

     


    “We. It will be ours.”
