    Summary

‘What do you want to do? After the war?’ Obi-Wan was laying with his head on Cody’s chest, running his fingers up and down the muscular torso. He looked up, although from his position he could only see the edge of the man’s jaw.

They were in another seedy hotel where they would be forgotten as soon as they picked up the card, tangled in a naked, boneless heap.

‘We were not designed for “after the war”, Obi-Wan,’ Cody whispered, calloused fingers dragging through Obi-Wan’s sweaty hair and scratching his scalp.

‘But there must be something you want to do…’ he muttered.

It was naive to think about after the war when the probability of both of them surviving was so low, but he caught himself doing so more and more often those days.

    He had started to… Hope.

And he realised that that hope was not tied to the Jedi Order at all. It was tied to this quiet, hard-working man. A man who would sacrifice everything for the Republic and for his brothers.

‘It doesn’t matter what I want,’ Cody said.

‘It matters to me,’ Obi-Wan insisted.
