No matter what they might be doing, you can trust that Boothill will at least try to kiss Argenti.
At the beginning of their relationship, she had been very reluctant to touch Argenti. She reckoned the feeling of metal on one’s skin, or sharp teeth even near one's lips—both being cold, sharp, and, for armour, rusted in areas she didn’t have much time to tend to at the moment—wasn’t much of a pleasant feeling. However, to her shock, that never stopped Argenti. Not one bit.
Boothill knew that Argenti was strong. She never doubted it for a second with all of that heavy iron she wears throughout the day, so that wasn’t the root of her worry. However, Boothill just didn’t want to make her uncomfortable. To avoid accidentally doing so, she would avoid touching Argenti on her own and waited for her initiation instead.
This didn’t go unnoticed by Argenti, but she didn’t even have to ask. Boothill ended up asking about it on her own, and Argenti reassured her that it was all okay.
For a while, Boothill would ask for confirmation before she did any of her actions—any. She would ask, “Can I lay here?” and began tapping on her girlfriend's thighs before receiving a smile. “Go ahead, sweetheart.” She then rested her head on Argenti's legs, beginning to drift off.
She would ask, on hard nights with nightmares of her old, forgotten home, “Could you… hold me?” Unfortunately, crying is difficult, but she would be crying if she could. Argenti looked at her with a sympathetic look, eyes with shock of how she’s asking as if she ever couldn’t be held. So she kissed her girlfriend’s knuckles, held out her arms, and said, “Come here.” Boothill hesitated before climbing onto the Knight’s lap and wrapping her arms round her back. Argenti nearly cried at the sight.
“I hope this… doesn’t hurt.”
“Darling.” Argenti pushed Boothill further off her body so she could look at her face. Boothill’s eyes widened, scared if she had done something wrong, but Argenti simply kissed her face and laid her girlfriend back onto her chest. “It’s okay, my rose.”
After some time, Boothill became much more comfortable physically interacting with her girlfriend.
To some, perhaps too comfortable.
No matter where they are or what they might be doing, you can trust that Boothll will at least try to kiss, touch, something that has to do with Argenti, to Argenti.
This didn’t start in the kitchen; however, after these random kisses began appearing, Argenti questioned it. As she was washing the dishes, Boothill came from behind and snaked her arms around her. Then she began kissing her cheek, down her jaw, and her neck.
“What’s your newfound fascination, my rose?” The cowgirl stopped kissing her and nuzzled into her girlfriend’s neck. Argenti could feel the vibration of her next words, “I just like kissing you.” The knight smiled, flicking water from her wet hand onto her girlfriend's face, making her startle. Argenti chuckled at the sight, then moved Boothill's head back down on her shoulder as she carried on with the last few dishes whilst her girlfriend kept her arms wrapped around her tight.
This time, they had been in the presence of the beautiful astral express. Boothill dropped over after a couple of bounties, considering it was in sight. As for Argenti, she was simply stopping by.
Truth be told, they weren't together all the time; they had their own adventures, discoveries, and revenge to create elsewhere. They both flew solo, yet when the time was right, they would match the flying style of the bird nearby in hopes they'd run into each other during times of busyness. This was one of the times when those hopes were achieved. Boothill greeted Argenti almost the moment she stepped foot onto the astral express. The cowgirl had been talking to March and Dan Heng since her arrival, and Argenti, naturally, joined in once she was spotted. Boothill had kept her hand intertwined with hers the entire time, and she'd kiss her girlfriend on the cheek when the others were distracted.
When they had gotten away from the others and found their way to a lounging area, Boothill spoke, “I wasn't expecting to see you here, darlin’.”
“Is that true?”
“I wasn't, but I was hopin’ you'd show up.”
Argenti took her girlfriend's hand and kissed it. “I missed you as well, my light.” Boothill wasn't all that patient, so she embraced her girlfriend and began kissing up and down her face. The redhead giggled as she was being dipped, bringing herself up as she brought her lips to the other's, her lipstick then smudging on the cowgirls.
There was a question for the universe, for the aeons, including Idrila, if THEY could even answer.
Argenti's lips, her lipstick, the way it smudged on her and then on Boothill—something about that was so pleasant, for lack of a better word.
It was sweet—well, not exactly, lipstick tastes more like wax than anything flavourful—perhaps Argenti was the one who gave it that taste. Seriously, what makes it, her, that addicting?
Boothill couldn't answer, but she told herself that if she kissed her enough, she'd probably find out.
It's safe to say she didn't really find out anything other than she really likes kissing Argenti. It almost was a “problem,” yet it never bothered Argenti, and it certainly never bothered Boothill.
Stealing kisses in the bathroom while they're taming their hair; kissing Argenti's forehead in the mornings to wake her up before Boothill must depart again, and vice versa; A movie being played and they're both comfortably laying on the couch, Boothill turns her head to kiss her girlfriend every ten minutes; etcetera.
The time of questions and answers happened in the bedroom.
The knight was ageing, but they weren't in a rush to go to sleep. They both had full days tomorrow, so they wanted to bask in each other's presence, consciously, as much as they could. That particular part included kissing, a favoured activity across the stars.
Boothill sat on Argenti's lap, her arms wrapped around the other's neck. For them, kissing like this was quite a gentle activity, only to be treated with love and care; slow and steady. At this point, funny enough, Boothill's face was covered in heaps of lipstick, and her lips were very swollen. The cowgirl didn't exactly wear lipstick, so on Argenti's part, she simply had puffy lips and smudged lipstick.
The sight was beautiful to Boothill. All sights of Argenti were, and you'd be better off blind to say otherwise.
“Hey, what, uh, darn…” She stammered, pulling away from her girlfriend with a gasp. “What lipstick do you wear?” Boothill asked. Argenti startled, but then began chuckling. “That's an awfully random question, don't you think?”
Boothill scoffed. “Well?”
“In one corner of the universe, there is this person who mixes the prettiest of shades, all cruelty free. They are a very divine individual, so I had gifted them a rose.” Boothill hums, looking away as if she were pondering. “Why?” The redhead giggled. “Are you also captivated by the colour?”
“You… could say that.”
The colour wasn't the point; it wasn't at all what captivated her. The point is that all of it links to Argenti. The lipstick, the colour, is on Argenti, and it spreads to Boothill whenever they kiss like this.
“You have been sending photos of things of a similar shade. Would you like your own, my star?” Right, It's gotten so bad that she's been able to recognise that shade on anything (or anyone) else she sees. The two often take pictures of things that remind them of each other when they are apart—no words attached—and whenever Boothill sees something that slightly resembles her captivating face, she sends it to her.
“Nah, I… I like it better on you.”
“Is that so?”
Boothill put her hands into the knight's hair to meet her lips once more. Argenti smiled into the kiss, snaking her arms around the others' hips. “I really do.”
“My love, you truly are captivating.”
Ah, that's it, isn't it. That's the obsession. Boothill is simply captivated by the woman in front of her.
“Eh, maybe, but…” Boothill pauses to nuzzle against her girlfriend’s neck, “I sure am captivated.”
