Work Text:

Eijun taps his foot impatiently. “Come on Kazuya. Mei is waiting for us”.

“Hold your horses, love. I’m just finishing the cake” Kazuya says as he finishes icing the phrase “Happy Birthday Mei” onto the cake.

“But we’re going to be late, Kazuya!” Eijun says with a frown.

“No we’re not. Relax we’ll be fine, babe. Remember. Mei doesn’t even know we’re coming. Now can you get the door?” Kazuya asks as he places the cake in its box.

Eijun rolls his eyes. “But still. I just want to see him already” he says as he opens the door for his boyfriend and waits for him to walk out with the cake.

“Yeah I do too, babe. We both miss him. I know that. So let’s hurry up” Kazuya says as he walks down the hallway. Eijun smiles before turning off the lights in the kitchen and following after him.

The ride to Inashiro was rather uneventful. Eijun slept practically the whole way while Kazuya held the cake on his lap and just gaze through the window of the bus they were on.

Truth be told Mei had no idea they were coming. They had told him earlier that they couldn’t make it. So of course Mei was disappointed. He had thought his boyfriends wouldn’t be celebrating his birthday with him. However, that wasn’t the case at all. They just wanted to surprise him.

When they arrived at the school they had the help of Tadano who let them into the dorms. “Narumiya-sempai” he calls out as he knocks on the door.

“Go away” the voice in the room replies.

Kazuya and Eijun stifle a chuckle as Tadano knocks again. “Narumiya-sempai. I’ve got a surprise for you” he says.

“I don’t care” Mei shouts through the door.

“I guess he doesn’t want cake. Let’s go Eijun.”

“Okay Kazuya.”

Immediately the blonde opens the door wide open. He stares at them in utter surprise and disbelief.

“Surprise!” Eijun shouts happily.

“Happy Birthday Mei!” Kazuya adds cheerfully.

Mei smiles widely before pulling both his boyfriends into his room and shutting the door.

Kazuya places the cake on Mei’s desk and just when he does Mei tackles them both onto his bed and kisses both their cheeks. Eijun laughs and Kazuya blushes a bit.

“Idiots. You said you weren’t going to come” Mei says with a pout as he sits up on the bed.

Eijun sits up as well and smiles. “That’s because we wanted to surprise you, Mei”.

Kazuya chuckles as he sits up too. “And you were definitely surprised” he teases.

Mei blushes. “Oh shut up. Of course I was. I didn’t know you guys were coming here” he says.

Kazuya chuckles before leaning over and giving Mei a peck on the lips. “Happy Birthday, Mei” he says sweetly. He then pulls away and heads to the desk to get the cake.

Eijun wraps his arms around Mei’s neck and kisses him on the lips as well. “Happy Birthday, Mei. Love you” he says happily.

The lights suddenly switches off and the pair on the bed look over to see Kazuya hold a now lit birthday cake.

Immediately Eijun pulls away from the hug and claps his hands as he starts singing. Kazuya laughs and happily sings along.

Mei starts to tear up since he was just so happy at the moment. When the cake finally is in front of him, he closes his eyes, makes a wish and blows out the candles.

Immediately the boys were surrounded by darkness and Eijun practically screams. Kazuya laughs and Mei scrambles to find the light switch.

Once the light switches on Mei was suddenly kissed by both his boyfriends on his cheeks. He immediately blushes as he wraps both his arms around them. Kazuya and Eijun then share a smirk before they both shove the cake at Mei’s face.
