Work Text:
Today is Ricky’s basketball tournament day. Ricky is so excited for today’s match, this is the competition that he’s been preparing for weeks. On the other hand, Hanbin feels sad because he couldn’t come to the game. Hanbin really wants to go, but the match starts at 4 PM, which is the time Hanbin has to attend his extra class – as usual, exams preparation.
“It’s fine, trust me, I’ll ace the match.” Ricky reassures Hanbin as he is accompanying the basketball guy outside the school's bus, waiting for the other players to gather.
Hanbin chuckles, “I know, I believe in you. It’s just – I don’t want to miss out on any events with you.” The latter comes with a pout. He sulks while gently stroking the other’s blond hair, fixing his bangs so it won’t cover his beautiful eyes.
Ricky switches his focus to the older one’s lips. “Don’t make that cute face, or I might kiss you right now.” Of course he wouldn’t do that to Hanbin, they’re still at school.
“I should be the one saying that though, you look so handsome in jerseys.” Ricky is momentarily taken aback because he didn’t expect he would get flirted back. Laughter then comes from both of them, giggling over how they desperately want to kiss each other.
They keep the ball going by talking until it’s time for Ricky to leave. “I also should get going then. Bring this with you and please read the note when I’m already away. See you later and good luck!” Hanbin cheers and waves as he walks away from him.
Ricky waits until Hanbin fades from his sight and immediately checks on what Hanbin handed to him. It's a lunch box with sticky notes on top of it.
Hi, Ricky. This is Hanbin. Sorry that I couldn’t be with you during the game, but I’m going to come and pick you up right after the class. Have some oranges before the match, I’ve peeled it for you. I chose orange because it matches your team’s shirt. But I also googled that orange is good to consume before you exercise. I hope the vitamin C kicks in when you’re dribbling the ball. Best of luck for the tournament!
P.S. I’d peel an orange, mandarin, tangerine, clementine, and other types I can’t even pronounce for you.
Ricky smiles at the note that Hanbin gave to him. He’s fully aware that his senior’s motive is to hop on the orange peel discourse – they’ve been discussing a lot about relationship tests, starting from the bird theory to the perilla leaves debate. Hanbin passed though, that’s what mattered the most to Ricky. All these discussions are like the game changer in how Ricky feels toward Hanbin. He has already liked him, and now he likes him even more.
