Kenma doesn’t feel too good today, and Shouyou wants to cheer him up. Of course, it isn’t that simple, because he can’t get rid of his autistic boyfriend’s sensory overload, but he can at least help Kenma relax. He knows that his boyfriend likes quiet and darkness when he’s overwhelmed, as well as curling up under blankets and cuddling Shouyou. And this gives Shouyou the perfect idea for how to help his boyfriend: he’ll make Kenma an epic blanket fort to curl up in.
So, when Kenma is in the shower, Shouyou gets to work. Remembering how this worked when he made them for Natsu when they were kids, Shouyou grabs the futons they keep for visitors and makes a nice bed in the middle of the living room floor. Then, he grabs some chairs and places them around the bedding with the seats facing outwards, before running into their bedroom and grabbing their blankets and pillows. Shouyou stretches the blankets over the chairs, creating a cave underneath, and weighs the blankets down by pinning the edges beneath heavy books placed on the chairs. Finally, Shouyou takes the pillows and places them inside the blanket fort, making it super comfortable in there.
And then he takes a step backwards and grins, admiring his work.

When Kenma wanders out of the bathroom, his damp hair sticking to his head, he sighs, utterly exhausted. Today was so draining, leaving him on the verge of a meltdown. He’s so glad that he got home when he did.
He walks through the apartment, looking for his boyfriend, and soon locates Shouyou standing next to… something.
“Shouyou, what is that?” he asks.
Shouyou beams at him. “A blanket fort. They’re super relaxing, so I thought it might help you feel better.”
Honestly, Kenma doubts that curling up inside a blanket fort like a child will help him, but as he looks at Shouyou and his creation, Kenma can’t bring himself to say it. The thought of Shouyou making this silly thing just for him is utterly adorable, and it makes a smile spread across Kenma’s tired face. He loves Hinata Shouyou so much.
“What do you think?” Shouyou asks, keeping the volume of his voice down to help Kenma’s sensitive ears.
Kenma doesn’t have the energy left to put into words what this stupid little fort means to him, so he doesn’t bother trying. Instead, he steps closer and gives Shouyou a big kiss on the forehead, making Shouyou chuckle.
“You like it, huh?” Shouyou says, giving him a quick hug. “Wanna give it a try?”
Kenma glances at the fort and nods his head.
“Awesome! Well, after you,” Shouyou says, lifting a flap that must function as a door.
With a fond eye roll, Kenma crawls inside the fort. The roof of blankets makes the fort nice and dark, only a little light seeping inside. He flops onto the futon flooring, rolling onto his side. It’s surprisingly nice in here, and Kenma lets out a contented sigh. The sigh becomes a chuckle when Shouyou crawls in after him, wrapping his arms around Kenma and giving him a cuddle.
And Kenma kisses Shouyou’s messy hair and closes his eyes, letting his exhausted body relax in the comfortable fort that his lovely boyfriend made for him.
