Work Text:

Giran had no idea how this evening would turn out.

He had never felt this way before. Never let himself feel this way before. It would put him and all of his clients in danger. Plus, he’s never ever had a relationship like this one. He was always just a friend, and Giran could only dream of it being any different.

But.. Giran knew that he had to try. He would explode if he kept these feelings in any longer. And exploding wouldn’t do anything good for anyone except the heroes, would it?

The broker started his mental timer for 10 minutes as soon as he opened the door. Worst case scenario, this all goes horribly wrong and he can just erase his memory and start over. He didn't know how his quirk would work on the other man. He hoped it didn't scramble his brain, because Shigaraki would kill him for doing that to one of his men.

“Giran!” Jin said, bouncing from one foot to the other. “It’s so good to see you! Why haven’t you sent me any letters, I am so mad at you!

“D’ya really think your apartment manager would let a very recognizable broker’s mail into his esteemed establishment?” Giran smirked. He knew that a shocking number of his client’s lived in Jin’s apartment building, but he wouldn’t tell Jin that.

“Whatever. So, why’d you call me over?”

“I found a hatch that leads to my roof, and the view’s exquisite. I wanted you to be the first one to see it.” Giran said, grabbing Jin’s hand and pulling him through the house. The faster they got there, the less time wasted.

8 minutes left.

The truth was, Giran had known about this place and the view for years. But he knew Jin would get suspicious if he had said that outright. Questions meant less time to talk about what Giran wanted. No. What he needed .

He opened the hatch up to the roof and stepped onto it. Jin stepped with him, gasping at the view. “ What the heck, Giran ! This is beautiful.” He stopped as he spotted the blankets and pillows that had been left out.

“What’s this? As he said this, Giran patted the spot beside him. He had set out all these blankets and pillows, following the instructions of a book he had recently bought. The author was the pro-hero Midnight, and she had to know a lot about love, right?

“I wanted to talk to you about something.” Giran said. He must’ve been making a sour expression unknowingly, because Jin immediately asked, “Are you okay? Am I in trouble? Are you being held hostage?! Blink twice if you’re in danger!

5 minutes left.

Giran laughed. This is the man he’d fallen in love with. He could feel his face relax into a smile.

But as he felt his stone cold demeanor melt away, he also just so happened to forget all of his lines. The lines he’d been practicing for days on end. His palms began to sweat and he felt his face flush.

“..Gir? You look like a middle-school girl about to confess her love. ” Jin said. It took him a second to figure out what he had just said. Then his face erupted in a blush just like Giran’s.

They both pulled the trigger at the same time.

“I love you, Jin!”

“I love you, Kagero!”

They stared at each other. Pink and gray eyes stare into Blue-Gray ones. Giran forgot how much time had passed. Jin forgot he had plans with Toga soon. It was only the both of them in this moment.

Nothing had gone as Giran had planned. The book had never said anything about the other confessing at the same time. He had so many backup plans in case this one failed. All gone to waste like a faulty piece of equipment.

But maybe Midnight didn’t know much about love after all. As he felt the 10 minutes slip away, he could not be happier that the blonde was at his side.
