An Unexpected encounter Between Enemies

Summary:

Draco and Hermione bump into each other alone in a corridor. Some nasty words are exchanged and emotions are heated. Hermione is ready to let Draco have it, but instead does something completely unexpected by either of them.

Notes:

I don't know if I want to come back to this story and write a proper beginning, make it a two shot, make it a mini chapter story about more encounters between the two, or leave it as is. I did start writing a part two, but I scrapped it pretty quickly so this might be it.

Work Text:

Hermione looked into Malfoy’s face, with hate plastered all over it. Her heart was racing from her anger, full of adrenaline. She walked at him fully intending on pushing him or slapping him in the mouth. But at the last second and to her own surprise, she instead shoved her face into his, pushing her lips heatedly up against his lips. Malfoy stepped back and looked ready to spit fire. Hermione had never seen him so angry. What in Merlin’s name was that? she asked herself. The act she’d just committed truly came out of nowhere. The kiss was not her intention, and she took herself by surprise. She felt her face turn red as she looked back at him, her hand slowly moving towards her wand as she took a few steps backwards.

“How dare– what in Merlin’s name– you must have some audacity to ever dream that–” Malfoy was struggling to find the words to express his complete and utter disdain. Hermione watched as his face grew redder and redder as he silently mouthed at her, looking more like he would explode with each second that passed. She saw him look over his shoulders, then up and down the hall. Then without warning, he rushed at her, snatched her close to him by her waist, and forced his lips down upon hers.

It was not a passionate or intimate kiss, or one filled with any kind of pleasant emotions at all. No, it was a kiss that expressed rage, hungry for his domination over her. Hermione was even more shocked, if possible, by Malfoy mirroring her actions. She pushed his face away from hers with her hands on his shoulders. Before she had a chance to say or do anything, however, Malfoy had instantly pulled her lips back to his with one hand on the back of her head. Hermione did not try to pull away again, but instead leaned into his movements. Their hands were exploring each other’s bodies, and they could not get enough of each other. Draco pushed Hermione behind a tapestry on the wall to their left without breaking the kiss.

Hermione could feel a warmth growing in the pit of her stomach. She was not thinking with her head. This was so unlike her. And yet, she did not care. She did not care that she was locked in the embrace of the person she hated most on the planet. She did not care that they could be caught at any moment and have to face the consequences of anybody finding out. All she knew was that she was desperate for Malfoy to continue ravaging her mouth with his own.

She felt him press his hips into hers while pulling her into him and she wrapped one leg around his waist and pushed back into him. He scooped her up with no effort at all, and she wrapped her other leg around him. Hermione felt him let out the softest moan as the bulge in his pants made contact between her thighs. Malfoy finally broke away from her lips to nibble at her jawline, and down her neck until he was pushing his face into her breasts, rubbing his thumb along the underside of her bra.

Hermione immediately snapped back to her senses. This was suddenly moving way too fast. She untangled her legs and pushed him away from her as she dropped back down to her feet. She could see that his eyes were glossy and his head was clearly still in the clouds from the heat of the moment. Hermione watched as the desire in Malfoy’s eyes grew smaller and smaller and he was brought back to reality. They stared at each other for a moment before he turned to walk out from behind the tapestry and away from the scene that had just played out between them.

Hermione just barely registered that she had grabbed ahold of his arm and pulled him back as she heard the sound of footsteps growing louder and louder outside of their hiding place. Malfoy was already backing away from the tapestry, having heard the footsteps too. In unison, they both placed a hand over each other’s mouth to prevent the other from making any noise and alerting the intruder that they were there. The footsteps continued to grow louder until they were right on the other side of where Hermione and Malfoy stood. They both waited, holding their breath. The footsteps began getting quieter and quieter again as the person making them continued down the corridor until they were gone. They both breathed a sigh of relief, and made sure to double check that the coast was clear before emerging from behind the tapestry. Malfoy looked at Hermione and seemed to be debating on whether he should say something. Finally, he spoke;

“Don’t expect me to start treating you any differently after this,” he spat at her.

“Believe me Malfoy, it meant nothing to me,” she replied, just as coldly.

He glared at her for a second before turning and walking swiftly down the corridor and rounding the corner.

She waited until about a minute after he’d been out of sight to continue in the same direction, wondering what the hell had just happened.
