Baizhi orders Jiyan to take a medical leave in order to recoup his health after he faints on the job. Jiyan is reluctant and voices his concerns to Mortefi. Mortefi is, as always, full of ideas. But how exactly did things end up this way, with the pair of them intertwined?

Through the whole read I felt slight discomfort. The amount of OOC made me cringe. Just… i don’t know.
The amount of times his past relationship is brought up annoys me, it’s somewhat realistic in that category but honestly ruined it a little. And the writing of the papapa scene was “meh”, not good but wouldn’t say horrible. My personal preference is when they are completely devoted to each other, but obviously that can’t always happen. It just annoys me with the constant comparison between Mortefi and his dead general.
Would I reread? Absolutely not.
