Work Text:
Klavier Gavin was sitting in his office cleaning his various guitars while quietly whistling to himself. Out of no where apollo justice burst into his office screaming about something or other. It was hard to tell what he was saying he was just too loud. When Klavier looked up at him he noticed a set of ears behind Apollo.
"Herr forehead... as much as I appreciate your spontaneous visits may I ask what you have there behind you?"
Apollo stopped screaming for a second and sighed as he stepped aside to present Klavier with the small cat eared man behind him.
--------------------
Next to the man was a piano, which by all means was not there when Klavier last looked five minutes ago.
"This is my friend, who I have realised I have forgotten the name of." Apollo paused and furrowed his face, trying to recall his name. The man then proceeded to begin to play the piano, meowing in time with each press of a key.
--------------------
Klavier studied the man and tried to figure out who this was. He was a master of the keys, but covered in shadow. It was the most beautiful melody he had ever heard, and he was unable to speak or move for the entire performance, due to being so enraptured.
When the final note was struck, the man shifted in his seat and a spotlight came on, revealing two black ears twitching atop his head. To his surprise, Klavier also saw a fuzzy tail poking out of the man's trousers.
The man turned around and introduced himself.
"I am Catboy Mozart."
He turned to face Apollo, who was gawping like an idiot.
"You must be the son of Jangly Justice! I heard much about you."
Klavier was incredibly confused, and looked back and forth between the men, trying to understand what was happening. Was this a dream?
--------------------
Catboy Mozart twitched his tail in annoyance.
"Are you or are you not?"
Apollo closed his mouth.
"I'm sorry mister but are you a cat? How can you play music??" Apollo said disregarding Catboy Mozart' question.
Catboy Mozart's tail swung from side to side. His ear layed flat.
"Very insensitive question young man. Can a man not be an artist and a cat?" Mozart huffed. "Your father was a Dogboy and that didn't stop him."
Klavier's eyes widened and locked with Apollo's.
--------------------
"I guess I can respect the grind. Not everyone would have what it takes to commit to both these things," Klavier said to the catboy, nodding approvingly.
Apollo just stood there, watching the discussion with fascination. Two musicians of different eras meeting is something you don't see every day.
"If you wish, I can even give you a taste of my music to prove that cats can very much be musicians too," catboy Mozard said.
--------------------
"Show me what you got then, Kätzchen!" Klavier winked.
Catboy Mozart mewed happily. (He both let out a feline noise and sharpened his jawline)
He cracked his "paws" and hopped on the piano (NOT Klavier) and masterfully pressed on the tiles, freestyling on the go. "Join in, my newfound friend!" Mozart suggested, beaming at Klavier, who whipped out his guitar. They played in harmony and Apollo felt like he was thirdwheeling at this point, so he left them be, only to hear a loud pang. When he rushed back in the room, he saw rubble on the floor and how there was a large hole in the wall. But how? But a loud voice revealed it all. "DJ KHALED, WE THE BEST MUSIC!"
How did HE even get here? They all wondered, but catboy Mozart seemed not to mind and continued playing music. Klavier was hesitant at first but also picked up his guitar again.
--------------------
Apollo wasn't the biggest DJ Khaled fan but he was curious to see where this went so he stuck around. Suddenly, another hole got smashed in the wall. It was a second DJ Khaled!
Another one? Thought Apollo, confused, only for a THIRD hole to be smashed in the wall, and a THIRD DJ Khaled to join the band. Then Apollo realized Klavier and Catboy Mozart's plan- they were attracting all the DJ Khaleds in the city to the concert hall! More and more entered the building, as the music reached its climax. By the time of the finale, there were 132 DJ Khaleds throwing down the best Music and Suffering From Success.
--------------------
Apollo was dazed and mildly irritated as this didn't really fit his taste in music but Trucy was jamming out next to him.
Once the show was over Apollo rushed backstage to meet up with Klavier and Catboy Mozart. He ran into the dressing room and yelled "WhAT WAS THAT?!"
"Ach, I expected this herr forehead. Catboy Mozart and I planned this to get the 132 DJ Khaleds in one place to trap them. 132 is far too many DJ Khaleds wouldn't you agree?"
"well yeah but you could have warned me before hand!" Apollo then turned to catboy mozart. "And you! Why did you even go along with this I thought you of all people would think this was a crazy idea!"
Catboy Mozart just stared at him blankly and meowed, seemingly not understanding a word Apollo said. Apollo sighed and covered his face with his hand and turned back to Klavier.
"I guess you did what you had to... But prosecutor Gavin you could have got hurt... I don't know what I would have done if that happened. " Apollo blushed and continued on, "Klavier theres actually something I have to confess to you..."
"What is it herr forehead?" Klavier excitedly asked.
"Klavier I'm i-"
"MR GAVIN THAT WAS CRAZY HOW DID YOU AND CATBOY MOZART PULL THAT TRICK OFF?!" Trucy burst into the room excitedly and obliviously interrupting Apollo.
"It's all in a days work as a rockstar fräulein. I should really be thanking catboy mozart here for all his help. Without him I could never have done it."
Everyone went to speak to Catboy Mozart but when they turned to where he should have been he was gone. There was no trace of him existing at all. Maybe Catboy Mozart was a figment of their imagination. A shared hallucination even. The three of them went on with their lives never knowing the truth of what happened that day but the memory of Catboy Mozart lived in their hearts forever.
