"....."
Genos was silent with his eyebrows furrowed in frustration as he saw his nemesis fall flat on the ground, feigning pain and defeat as a kid in front of him had "stabbed" him with a plastic sword.
He had received message that the Caped Darkness was spotted near the children's hospital earlier, how could he not respond when he didn't know what kind of destruction the villain had up his sleeve today!? Instead all he encountered was...This.
A scene in which kids had ganged up on the villain, playing with him. Genos had scanned each indivual child to see if they had any hints of being harmed by the villain. But there wasn't a kid without a smile and no scratches at all. This is all...wrong..
"Ahh! Ahh! I yield!" Saitama crossed his arms over his eyes, as if to protect his face from the constant bopping of a plastic sword that hit his chest repeatedly. The little boy who held the sword giggled and fell on top of the man, while another kid dive bombed on top of him as well. They were trying to keep the man down on the ground and defeated.
An old nurse with a grimace and wrinkles waltzed in, a hand on her hip and the other clutching a clipboard. The reflection of natural light on her glasses covered her beady eyes. "Alright, that's enough of that." She called out with her nasally voice, "Visiting time is over, I want all those kids back in their beds and quiet!"
"Alright, geez." Saitama said, annoyed, as he stood up with arms hooked around both kids that hung on him like he was a walking jungle gym.
Other kids started to grumble and retreat to their beds, the villain had dropped off the kids that he was holding to their own designated bed. The boy who had hit him with a sword repeatedly had reluctantly let go of the man, but eventually plopped into bed after rubbing an eye and yawned.
"You're the best." The child said in a soft and tired tone as he laid back in the cushion.
"Don't let your mom hear you say that." Saitama tucked the kid in and handed him the soft fluffy bear that fell off the bed earlier when kids were jumping from bed to bed. "I think she wants you to like heroes instead."
The boy hummed as he hugged his teddy bear and started to drift off to sleep, energy drained from the playtime they all had.
The Caped Darkness stood straight and observed the room, looking at children who were asleep and those who still had more energy than others obviously, as one kept bouncing in their place.
"Knock it off, kid. Time to hit the hay." Saitama called the child out with a stern voice. Said kid mumbled "yes sir" as he laid back in bed staring with wide eyes.
As the villain turned to leave the room, a small feeble girl had said "Goodbye Caped Darkness!" in a gentle sick voice. The corners of Saitama's lips barely lifted but he said his goodbye in return.
Once the kids were all settled in their beds, and toys were pushed to the side so it wouldn't interfere with the traffic of nurses coming in and out of the room, the bald man had walked out the children's room and closed the door behind him, completely ignoring the dumbfounded cyborg.
Genos snapped back into reality as soon as the villain was away from the children and was heading towards the elevators, he called out. "Hey!"
Ignored.
The blonde growled a little as he sprinted towards the anti-hero who was now in the elevator. Saitama pressed the lobby button just as Genos stepped into the tight spot.
Once the doors closed, the cyborg had placed a harsh hand on the wall next to the bald man's head.
"Hello Genos." Saitama greeted the teen with a monotone voice, completely ignoring how pissed the blonde looked. "Decent weather today, I guess."
"What the hell was all of that?"
"What was what?"
"You..! The kids!..You're the bad guy, they adored you! How..? Why?"
"You throw candy at them, that's how they like you."
"You shouldn't have even been able to walk into these premises!" Genos argued.
Ding.
The elevator had reached the lobby, and Saitama walked around the other man, showing he was done with the conversation and was going to head home.
Genos' eyebrows furrowed once again as he watched the evildoer walk off. He retracted his hand from the wall, to show a dent had formed from him hitting it with strong robotic force. Chasing after Saitama, he found the man casually strolling along the sidewalk on his way home.
"This isn't over Caped Darkness!"
Saitama turned around with his regular bored features, "I'm going home to eat, we can do this later."
"Like hell you are!" Genos charged after him and was immediately stopped as he ran into the mans palm that was held out to stop him. Had he have lungs, his breath would've been knocked out of him.
"I'm not sharing my lunch." Was all the villain said, continuing on the path to home.
"Wait!" Genos tried to argue.
"I said we'll do this later. See you around, kid." Without looking back, Saitama waved a hand behind him, and then was gone.
Genos would let him go away this time, he figured. After all, how many times do you see a villain look so cute playing with kids? They'll beat each others asses tomorrow.. Well.. Genos will get his ass beat tomorrow.
