It was Sora and Riku's 1 year anniversary of being them together and Sora wanted to do something special. Unfortunately, he didn't know what to do.
Neverland was out since they were there enough times as it was, Twilight Town was also out because their day might get interrupted, and...
"Wait...I know where to go!"
He got in his boat and took off for the play island.
Riku was walking along the shoreline when he saw Sora rowing over to him. "Sora, what are you doing?"
Sora jumped out of his boat and ran over to Riku. "I wanna take you somewhere special for our anniversary today!"
Riku blinked at him. "That was today?"
Sora facepalmed. "Of course it is!"
"Right, I knew that." Riku laughed nervously, a bit of red on his cheeks.
"And he thinks I'm the forgetful one..." Sora shook his head and smiled up at Riku. "Come on, let's go!"
He grabbed Riku's hand and went to the gummi ship. He got in the front seat and Riku sat on the right seat in the back. "Where are we going?"
"You'll see!" Sora smiled at him and took off.
Riku looked out the window. "Are you sure Kairi won't mind being by herself?"
"Oh, she's hanging out with Xion, Naminé, and Aqua having a girls day. She'll be fine." He continued driving.
Soon they arrived at an ocean. It was night out and there was a wooded boat waiting for them.
"Come on! It's about to start!" Sora jumped into the boat.
Riku was curious, so he got in behind Sora. The brunette had already started rowing.
Riku saw light reflecting on the water and looked up. "Are those...lanterns?!" The lanterns were floating up in the sky.
Sora put the oars back in the boat and lied down on Riku's lap.
"I'll have to thank Rapunzel and Flynn later for helping me out..." It wasn't the anniversary of Rapunzel's return to her parents, but they convinced them to help Sora out.
Riku looked down at Sora and pecked his lips. "Thank you for a magical anniversary present, Sora."
Sora smiled at him. "You're welcome, Riku."
Riku continued watching the lanterns. "Now what should I do for our second anniversary?"
