Work Text:
*It was nighttime in the Heeler's house (9:00 PM to be exact) and the girls were preparing themselves to go to bed, they've already passed their storytime phase, so they only waited for their mum to tuck them in, that is... until Bingo reaches for her sister*
Bingo: Bluey... are you awake?
Bluey: Yeah... *she says groggily* what is it?
Bingo: I thought of something horrible...
*Bluey leaves her bed and approaches her sister, who appears quite distressed (an unusual sight) as she fully grasps her favorite bunny plushie*
Bluey: What's in your mind, sis?...
Bingo: *sniff* I-I thought about what Mum said earlier... about her quarrel with Auntie Brandy... do you think we'll ever end up fighting like them? *she gives her a gloomy stare, teary-eyed*
*Bluey listens carefully* No, I don't think so... why'd you ask? *she then leans over to the nightstand and turns on their salt lamp, which they affectionately call 'Lampy'*
Bingo: B-because... *sniff* I-I'm afraid that we might also end up having a big fight like that... and not speaking for who knows how long, a-and we'd split up forever... *sniff* *sniff*
Bluey: Aww, come here... *she hugs her little sister tenderly, wiping up her tears and embracing her again, to which she emits a faint sob*
Bluey: Bingo, nothing in this world could split us apart, NOTHING AT ALL... *she gently strokes her back* Remember each of our squabbles? We always end up making up after each of our fights! Regardless of that, you are my little sister, I couldn't have wished for something better...*she smiles at her, holding her hands* for real life!
Bingo: B-but they were as tight as we are, and they s-suddenly had a fight and split apart for four years!
*Bluey can now understand her sister's worries and embraces her even tighter*
Bluey: Hey...*she says stroking her back* y'know, some years ago, I was equally scared as you are, but something made me realize we couldn't separate for as long as they did... even if we tried.
*She gives her a curious stare and sniffles a little*
Bingo: *sniff* what?
Bluey: When Mum and Auntie Brandy reconciled, she mentioned something I didn't realize before: "If I didn't care about you, I wouldn't be shedding tears after the excruciating time we spent apart"
*Bingo sniffles a little more as her sister continues*
Bluey: I know that fight may have sounded like an intense rumble, but in the end, they made up, settled their issues, accepted their mistakes, and now she's like our second mother! That reconciliation allowed us to meet her, and now, she's more than present in our lives, like how she attends all your hockey matches...
*Bingo then reminisces how her auntie always took her time to motivate her while she played, sometimes perhaps going a bit overboard, being quite a passionate gal* Yeah, she's the best cheerleader ever… *smiling a bit after the comforting warmth the memory granted her*
Bluey: Or when I scrapped my knee playing soccer, and she came to the rescue! *she said as she gently wiped some tears off her sister's face*
*Bingo chortles slightly while remembering how she used to view their auntie as a superhero whenever they bumped their knees or scraped themselves when she came to babysit them, even on special occasions (such as soccer matches) like the one Bluey just mentioned* Yeah, she's great at helping us heal, like Mum. *Bluey kept stroking her back as she embraced her even tighter*
Bluey: But my point is, they couldn't stay mad at each other forever and just needed a little space, since as Mum once said, she "made her feel as small as a mouse." *squeak* *squeak* *she tickles her little sister, managing to cheer her up, and while it works for a bit, her worries regain shortly after* "what's wrong now, Bingo?” *she asks worriedly as a frown formed in her face*
Bingo: *sniff* I-I-I really don't want us to fight that way... what if it happens? w-what'd happen then?! *she gives her a glance, full of panic and fright*
*Bluey thinks for a bit* Remember that time we wanted to have our own rooms and Dad took my bed to the old nursery room?
Bingo: YEAH! It was really fun, especially when we tried to send us cards avoiding Mum to find out! *she laughs and wags her tail* But why did you bring that up? *she gives her another curious stare*
Bluey: In the end, we didn't move; we stood together, couldn't sleep alone, and ended up sleeping together in the same bed *she laughs* sorta like we're doing now.
Bingo: Oh, yeah! *she also laughs*
Bluey: That's proof no matter how far we are, we can always count on each other, and no matter how much we squabble, we'll always make up from it and love each other.
Bingo: Even if we get in a BIG fight? *she gives her an uncertain look*
Bluey: Even if that happens.
Bingo: You promise? *she gives her an adorable look*
Bluey: I promise, *she raises her pinky* pinky swear.
*Bingo extends and touches her sister's pinky to grant the aftermentioned gesture, then, she gives her sister a huge hug and wags her tail again* I love you, Bluey!
*She warmly hugs her back while also wagging her tail, kissing her on the cheek in return* I love you too, Bingo, to the moon and back...
Bingo: Well, I love you to the infinity and beyond!
Bluey: Well, I do for millions of infinities together!
Bingo: Well, I do for billions and trillions of infinities, galaxies, and stars together!!!
*Bluey giggles noisily* Ok, ok, you win, Bingo-Bongo! *she pats on the head, hugs, and tickles her, making her laugh noisily as well*
Bingo: STOOOP!!! WE'RE NOT EVEN TICKLE CRABS YET!!! *she says, failing to contain her ongoing laughter as her sister progressively stops*
Bluey: Touché, hehe, plus… Dad's our common victim anyways *she says with a playful grin on her face*
*this makes the red heeler giggle*Yeah, he is… *she says with a smile on her face, then Bluey brings her attention while putting her arm around her shoulder*
Bluey: Remember what Mum always says? *Bingo nods and both pronounce their mum's wise words*
Both: "Remember I'll always be here for you, even if you can't see me, because I love you" *they both laugh at the same time*
Bingo: I love that phrase... *she smiles*
Bluey: Yeah, me too. *she smiles back*
*Bingo then embraces her tightly, as her sister returns the gesture*
Bingo: I love you, Bluey. *she says closing her eyes with satisfaction*
Bluey: I love you too, Bingo, and that'll never change... for real life. *she says as she does the same*
*They embrace happily as their tails wag, not noticing their mum proudly observing her daughters and shedding a few tears of joy (or as she adorably calls them, 'happy tears'), as she envisions her not-so-little babies sharing such a heartfelt moment between the two*
THE END
