Date: July 21st 1987(A)

Location: Doc’s Garage
There was something about the Marty from the Alternate 1985A—well, 1987A now. Beyond the apparent hot-headedness that Marty admitted he sometimes shared, the Alternate Marty seemed very suspicious, closed-off, and abrasive. Marty guessed his initial anger at being faced with his timeline possibly being erased was justified, and maybe that was why he was acting the way he was now—after all, the fate of his entire world was in Marty and Doc’s hands. But even after promising to help find a way to keep at least his timeline intact, the Alternate Marty remained avoidant of them. On top of that, he eyed Marty with something that was more than suspicion. It almost seemed like hatred. And Marty swore he saw hints of jealousy in that gaze, too. He was good at reading himself.
From what Marty had experienced himself in the original 1985A, he’d gleaned that this Marty’s life hadn’t been the greatest. Neither had Marty’s own, before he changed his own timeline, so he could relate to that. But somehow he suspected it was more than just living in a crappy world run by Biff Tannen.
Either way, it was all Marty’s fault. If he hadn’t bought that sports almanac, this timeline wouldn’t even be around. Alternate Marty wouldn’t exist.
And he might stop existing if we can’t find a way to preserve multiple timelines at once, Marty thought.
He’d tried to talk to the guy yesterday. Got as far as learning they shared a habit of skateboarding, but he didn’t get a straight answer about the guitar before the Alternate Marty snapped at him. But Marty’s curiosity was piqued now. Especially since Alternate Marty had been so vague about how he’d met his own Doc after Marty had told the story of how he’d met his Doc, only saying he’d met him “on the streets.”
There was something about the Alternate Marty. And Marty was determined to find out what it was.
