Notes:

Hi, bet you missed me :3

Sorry I haven’t uploaded in like forever, but I had this idea and instantly got rejuvenated. Yes I’m still interested in the same fandoms, no there will not be any updates to my past fics (sadly). Have fun reading, expect super duper irregular updates

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

Hi, I’m Vera. I’m 16, I go by she/her, and as of today, I’m being sent to an all-girls school.

Now normally, this wouldn’t be much of an issue for someone like me. I mean it’s a new school, yeah, but nothing that big. It’s bad for me though, for exactly one reason: I’m a trans girl.

You can probably see where there’s a small issue. I only came out last year, and it went well with my parents, but essentially nobody else. I got dirty glances from everyone at school, which didn’t really help me gain any friends. My parents suggested that I might make more friends going to this new, private school, which sounded great out of the context of an all girl’s school. I mean, I might just be able to pass - my straightish dark hair had been growing out pretty nice, and I’ve gotten into a pretty good habit of shaving regularly. I even learned makeup recently, and my Estrogen gets here tomorrow!!!

So I got my appearance down pat, but my voice on the other hand… was not very nice. I’ve been trying as hard as I can to follow those voice training videos, but it always sounds so forced, that wouldn’t pass at all. So what if I just… didn’t talk? I can do that pretty good, and that also solves issue 3: my crippling social anxiety (which didn’t help on the friends situation in my last school either).

Now my issues were more manageable. 1, the language barrier of not talking, 2, that big shadow of anxiety constantly following me, and the third one I haven’t mentioned yet… being a lesbian.

Now, this is going to be a big change from my regular life, commonly depicted on an “eat, sleep, game, repeat” t-shirt. I stuffed my handy pink backpack full of notebooks and pencils, topped off with some cute pins on the front. After debating with myself for a little bit, I decided against any of the queer pins I owned, since private schools tend to be a bit xenophobic. I stood as confident as a soldier as I marched my way to the school, a bit over a mile walking, while donning my new school uniform, including a blue skirt. It felt like not even the strongest weapon could take me down, until I was reminded where I was by the big sign near the border of the school property.
