Work Text:
I used to live alone before I knew you…
Not that Curt hadn’t been living alone since meeting Owen, but his bed had surely felt less empty when he was accompanied by the promise of a next time. Next time in Guadeloupe. Next time in a secretly shared hotel room. Curt had even let himself fantasize about when next time would be permanent: in a small house — a home — nestled safely away from anything and everything ASS and MI6 related.
Not that any of that matters anymore. There is no longer a next time for them.
Curt lays down in his empty bed and the promises of their future are replaced with ghosts of their past.
He used to live alone before he knew Owen, and now he will live alone trying to forget him.
