Extras 1:
context: we can place this part from chapter 14 in my story. la or Cale and declare dead.
good reading, if something bothers you in the logic or context of the action you can ask.
also if you see a sentence with that ~ in the end it's because it's a comment from me in the story itself.
------
He increased the temperature of the blanket and the flow rate of the machine but he needed extra help for the redhead's heart
As he was about to ask for help he saw the golden dragon approaching him.
"I'll do the rest," Eruhaben, who had finally managed to calm down, began trying to resuscitate him. At the same time he cast a spell to control his heart rate.
The doctor nodded, he then took a syringe of adrenaline but before injecting it he spoke again.
"There is no longer any risk to his body now? "
"No, you can do it"
He quickly injected it. The silence was palpable in the room everyone was stressed and worried to an inhuman degree, they are so close to losing him.
"There is still nothing..." the doctor had injected the whole syringe while waiting a few seconds for the product to act but nothing happened.
"Try again!" Deruth was relentless with his words, leaving no room for discussion.
"Very good but this is the last dose I can give him with his general condition, another would be fatal to him."
Once the medicine was given the doctor just waited for it to take effect of course if it was still possible. But the minutes passed and nothing changed his heart still wasn't beating, he was only breathing with the help of the machines and his body temperature was only decreasing his complexion becoming paler.
After 3 minutes had passed, he was not sure now the young master had died there was no longer any chance of bringing him back. But he didn't have the heart to tell his family. He could see that the young master's children were crying, the elf was still very focused on his task despite the difficulty for him to keep his powers calm. The rest of the people in the room were no better all had a dark face and immense worry written on their faces you could see that all of them were in the same state as the elf trying to keep their power stable so as not to affect the young master.
"I'm sorry... but it's too late, there's no way he'll come back now..."
"..."
Pause meanwhile, in Cale's mind.
-...
-...
-I know I've said it often but... really!! Like you had to do it now!!
-Yes ?
-...
-I hope he wakes up soon before his vicious family goes crazy!!
-Not for a few hours, I need time...
-Accelerate his healing, before causing the end of the world through a misunderstanding!!
-He will spit up more blood if I do that but it will still take me 2 hours before he wakes up and they feel the slightest sign of life from him...
-It doesn't matter at least they'll know he's alive!
-Even with 2 hours without him I can't imagine the problems they will cause...
-I'm disappointed not to be able to see it...
-They will at least have time to tell everyone that he is dead, Cale will have to make up for all that...
Back in the room, after the doctor's announcement everyone remained frozen, no one spoke, they didn't even have the words to do so. Only their reactions spoke for them.
Eruhaben fell to his knees on the ground and cried in sorrow, he could do nothing else he blamed himself very much. He had just killed his son after all. Raon quickly came into his arms to comfort him and to comfort himself he too was crying. Their two mana were chaotic in the room mixing with the others who were all in the same state.
Rosalyn went to comfort Choi han before he fell into despair. She took him in a tight hug while trying to calm him down it was very hard for her, seeing as she was in the same state but she had to be strong for her friend not for everyone.
The Duke still didn't move from his place but was crying he had just lost his son, already his wife and now his son, it's so difficult why does he always have to lose someone? he hoped to have Violan near him.
Hannah tried to console her brother, but she was no better, Cale had helped them a lot, why did he have to leave? He has already done so much, and he hasn't even had time to rest and enjoy his family.
Marie was silent but you could see tears falling from her eyes, he had shown her the world, for her not for everyone he represented freedom, they just lost their glimmer of hope.
In all this chaos, a red light was seen, a communication orb was flashing, it was Alberu.
"The crown prince calls" Raon had completely lost his enthusiasm, he who was always smiling lost his humanity.
"...connect it I'll talk to him..."
"Hello Eruhaben-nim... something happened, how is Cale?"
Seeing everyone's expression through the video, Alberu I knew that no matter what anyone said to him it would definitely not be good.
"Cale is...he's gone..."
You could see the half-blood's body and trembling pupils, tears starting to stain his face.
"No...it's not possible he...he was still fine a few hours ago...what could have happened to him?...I'll come straight away..."
Alberu cut off the communication and a teleportation light was seen directly afterwards. As soon as she disappeared Alberu rushed towards Cale's body.
"No...no why..." His thoughts were chaotic, all he could see was the cold and lifeless body of his little brother.
"What happened?" What little sanity he had left was used to ask this question.
"...I will explain...to all of you" Eruhaben took responsibility for doing so he still felt guilty, and this feeling is likely to get worse depending on the reactions of others.
At the end of these explanations, the tension in the room was even worse now that they all knew this situation could have been avoided.
"Cale spoke to you about his condition but you ignored him?!"
They say that grief can make you crazy, violent, we often have our emotions escape us and we need someone responsible on whom to unleash them...
"Yes..." Eruhaben lowered his head in shame, he knows he is responsible he didn't listen to him, his son would still be alive if he had done so. Does he even still have the right to consider him his child? New tears fell from her eyes.
"You killed him!!" Alberu was really angry, even if he had a dragon in front of him he couldn't reprimand this feeling, he had just lost his precious brother, and the person responsible was in front of him.
"Crown Prince, Goldie Papi!! Stop arguing, he's not responsible he only wanted to help her!!"
"No Raon he's right... I'm sorry..."
No one said anything after that, some left the room they needed to cry and be a little alone.
The only ones left were the Duke, Alberu and the golden dragon with the doctor.
The Duke had collapsed next to Cale's bed on the chair, he didn't let go of his hand, Alberu did the same, he still had a lot of work at the palace but he was unable to leave there.
The doctor present approached Cale's body and began to remove everything. The IVs, the machine to check his pulse, the oxygen mask, he was going to wipe the blood away but the golden dragon sent a spell to do it, everything was done in silence, a terribly dark silence. The whole villa was in the same condition.
"Thank you for looking after him..." the duke turned back to the golden dragon.
"I..."
"I don't blame you, just thank you for everything."
It didn't take away anything from what he was feeling, he didn't respond, he just stayed silent.
The silence was prolonged until the emperor's aunt appeared.
"Alberu you have to come back, you can't leave the palace unguarded, I know it's difficult but you can't leave everything behind now..."
She didn't say anything more and approached him and took him in her arms, Alberu collapsed crying against her, at the same time she teleported them to the palace. Even though she knew he needed time to heal, he couldn't disappear like that, she will be with him no matter what.
Now only the duke and the golden dragon remained.
"I can call your wife if you wish..."
" Yes please"
He connected an orb quickly.
"Hello Duchess, can you come, is it important? "
Seeing the atmosphere in the room, the Duchess said nothing and just nodded. She didn't have to wait long before he came by and teleported her to the villa.
"Hello..." her eyes widened at the scene presented to her, her husband crying next to her son's body her skin was so pale she could only think of one thing.
" Hold...he...he..."
"..."
She walked over to her husband and hugged him; she knew he needed her like she needed him, both of them were crying now.
Eruhaben decided to leave them alone for a bit, he left the room to go and warn everyone, he really didn't want to do it but he had no choice.
-How long before he wakes up?
-It won't be very long, I did it as quickly as possible, but he will be lost, waking up will be violent for him without forgetting the blood,...
-And the shock of his family...
-*sigh*
While they were now alone the Duke was decomposing in his wife's arms, he was inconsolable.
"Hold..."
"I know I'm here..." His wife hugged him even tighter.
They didn't notice that Cale was waking up, he was completely lost, his breathing was speeding up with his heart, his old power that tried to heal him quickly.
They noticed him when he started coughing up blood.
"Hold?!"
The Duke and Duchess rushed towards him.
"Son, are you okay?!" he was relieved to see him awake but also very surprised and above all he didn't look well at all.
"Deruth go call a doctor!"
"Ahah what happened ahah? Haha"
"Darling, calm down, breathe slowly, we'll find help."
The duke had already run out of the room. He quickly ran into Ron.
"Ron! Cale is awake but... call the doctors right away!!"
The butler didn't understand why the Duke was so panicked, but after these words he was even more lost.
"The young master...?"
"I'll get them right away!" Ron rushed into the doctors' room and dragged them into Cale's room.
"It's impossible, he no longer had a pulse...!" the doctors were all as shocked as the others, how could he be alive?!
"We need help here!" it was the duchess who shouted, her son was not well they had to help him as quickly as possible.
The doctors focused again on their task.
"Give me an oxygen mask!!"
"His pulse is too fast!!"
"He's still bleeding too!"
"Call the ancient dragon we need to know if we can give him anything to help!" even if they had already had confirmation before. They didn't know what might have happened during the time he was pronounced dead.
Ron immediately went to find Eruhaben-nim who had gone to warn everyone of Cale's death.
During this time the Duchess did not let go of Cale's hand, like her father next to him. They had been traumatized by the news of his death and now he was awake but still not in a good condition, they would not let him go.
"Shh Cale, it's okay to breathe" the duchess did everything she could but she couldn't do much so she decided to try to reassure him.
" Mother ? ahah...*cough*"
" Yes, I am here "
Cale was still very confused. His old powers also tried to help him.
-Do you remember what happened?
"...dinner I only remember that, why do I feel so bad and weak, did something happen?"
They didn't know whether to tell him or not, but the question was quickly resolved.
-It's not important now, try to concentrate and calm down.
"Okay" with that he closed his eyes and tried to concentrate on regulating his breathing and the pain he was feeling. But from an outside perspective it looked much worse like he had passed out again.
"Hey Cale, stay with us!" the duchess who was still holding him became panicked.
"Please wake up!" the duke was no better than his wife. But despite their calls Cale didn't open his eyes, he was too focused on trying to calm his body.
"What's happening to him? " not getting a response from her son she decided to turn to the doctors.
Before he could respond the ancient dragon appeared in the room and rushed towards the bed. He too was in shock after learning what was happening from Ron.
"Sir we need to know if we can give him anything, can you take a quick look? his condition is not stable "
"Ah yes I will" he barely managed to form words everything happened so quickly after the news of Cale's death and then he was alive his brain was a mess but he still did what he was told.
Eruhaben placed a hand on his body and checked it. He was able to respond quickly to the doctors.
"Yes, you can, his plate is balanced again, there is no longer any risk."
"Are you sure?!" the Duke asked, it's not that he didn't trust her but after what happened he wanted to be really sure.
" Yes"
After confirming it, the doctors quickly got to work.
"Duchess, please" the doctors needed full access to her body and she still held Cale close to her.
Violan put Cale back to bed but took his hand and that of her husband, to reassure one and to feel life on the other, she was so afraid of losing him.
After that the doctors concentrated on their tasks.
"He needs a new infusion."
"Increase the oxygen flow to maximum"
"Magic for his heart too..." the doctor had not had time to finish speaking as the dragon had already put the device in place.
" THANKS"
Eruhaben didn't say anything he just stayed silent waiting to see if he could help.
"His pulse is too fast!"
"He must be in shock after not having enough oxygen for so long, give me a sedative..."
The doctors were frantic around him, his family was no better, Cale didn't didn't look better he was so pale and covered in blood not to mention his rapid breathing.
It took a while before doctors were able to stabilize his condition. Once they were finished they turned back to the other people in the room.
"How is he?" the Duchess spoke; she still had not moved from her place.
"We managed to stabilize him, he will live but after what has just happened we don't know what state his body is in, if he can breathe on his own, or anything else, in short we don't know "there were even more serious side effects than before this incident"
The others were devastated but they didn't lose hope, at least he was alive they can face the rest together as long as he is with them everything is fine.
"There's nothing to do except wait for him to wake up now."
They didn't say anything, the doctors left and everyone waited for their redhead to wake up.
Once evening arrived no one moved, they were too worried to do so. It was only the Duchess who noticed that Cale had opened his eyes and looked at him he looked confused.
"Cale?" everyone looked at the bed after hearing that familiar name they were relieved to see him conscious.
"Son, you scared me so much" the Duke took Cale's body in his arms he wanted so badly to confirm for himself that he was alive.
"Dear, be careful"
Deruth listened to his wife he didn't want to hurt his son, but he couldn't stop her from being worried when he picked him up Cale had no reaction he looked so... soft.
"How are you Cale?"
" Mother ? "
His answer was more of a question it made him confused, he didn't see it?
"Yes, it's me, are you okay?" she shook his hand to show him her presence but even then, Cale didn't say anything.
She turned her head towards her husband, she saw his trembling eyes he too seemed to have noticed a problem with Cale.
Eruhaben who saw the interaction and conversation felt worried he couldn't help but ask too.
"Cale, are you okay? "
Cale turned his head in her direction but didn't meet her gaze.
"I think there is a problem with his eyesight"
"I feel tired and a little out of breath, did something happen after the meal?"
" Meal ? Did he forget the rest of the day? » Eruhaben involuntarily squeezed his hand tighter forgetting that he was still holding Cale but he didn't even react as he saw that his palm had turned white.
"Is he?..." Eruhaben had pupils trembling in response to his thoughts, everyone noticed. He didn't tell the others; he first wanted to confirm his theory.
"I'm going to test something, don't talk" he sent the message to the others before lowering the temperature of the room to a very cold one, the others frowned at that why did the ancient dragon do that?
"Calm, aren't you cold? "
" Eh ? For what ?"
"Just answer my question, I can get you a blanket if you want?"
"No, I feel good."
Calm returned to the room after his words everyone understood the intentions of the golden dragon, he tested to see if Cale could sense things.
Even Choi Han here was cold even though he was a sword master, it was definitely not normal.
"Okay, do you need anything else? " as he spoke he pinched Cale's hand lightly to see what was happening but he still didn't react.
"No, I just want to sleep" he was a little intrigued by the dragon's strange questions but didn't think about it further, he really had no energy to do so.
"Okay, rest then if you're tired."
Cale just nodded and went back to sleep.
Eruhaben immediately put a soundproof barrier around Cale.
"So?" Choi han asked he was eager to know if something was going on with Cale.
Eruhaben closed his eyes and took a deep breath before speaking.
"I think there is a problem with his eyesight and he no longer feels anything with his body..."
"You mean he is blind and paralyzed?" it was the Duchess who spoke; her words came out stuttering.
"Not completely blind, his senses have a problem and I think part of his body must be paralyzed indeed..."
"Maybe it's just a temporary condition, he can get over it."
He tried to reassure them but it didn't work too much, he himself was worried.
"I'm going to call the doctors to tell them that the young master is awake and that they can examine his condition." Ron had already left, he couldn't stand all the stress anymore, he needed to go out and get some fresh air.
The others didn't say anything more, they just waited for the doctors to come back. It was meal time but persWe weren't hungry. Eruhaben has already warned Mila and Sheriff to take care of the children.
Meanwhile~
-Can you explain that?
-...I said that they will see that he is alive, isn't that the case?...
-*sigh*
-She's not wrong...
Super rock decided to ignore all these idiots and focused on the vitality of the heart.
-What happened ?
- I did it as quickly as possible, I didn't have time to heal everything!
-At least it's not permanent, *sigh* how long will it take to completely heal it?
-Hmm...
Faced with her silence he was starting to worry it couldn't be that long... could it?...
- SO ?
Seeing that he was not going to give in, he spoke.
-1 month before he gets his body back like before...
-Oh my god... he was shocked like why?!!
-I don't have enough energy anymore I used everything to bring him back, it will take a while...of course I can do it faster but there will be more side effects.
-*sigh* we'll see with him, even if we already know his answer, for the rest we'll see later, at least he's alive right?
-Yes *sigh* he doesn't really know how many times he had already done it but he couldn't take it anymore, he's going to take it as best he can, yes he's alive.
Back to the others. The doctors came quickly once they were told what had happened.
"Hello, we can do an examination of his body if you want but he would have to be awake."
"Okay I'll do it" the Duchess volunteered, she lightly stroked his head while calling to him.
"Hold"
The young master woke up immediately, he was confused why wake him up when he had just gone back to sleep?
The Duchess saw his look and explained to him.
" Cale the doctors are here, we just want to see how you are, is it okay if they give you a health check? "
Cale just nodded he already knew how worried everyone was he thought it would reassure them to see that he's okay. At his thoughts he heard moans in his head that came from the ancient powers but he ignored them as always.
"Very young master, we are going to begin."
One of the doctors approached him, took an orb of light like last time and waved it in front of his eyes.
"Just try to follow the light"
Cale tried but he couldn't see her very well, his vision was too blurry.
"Are you getting there, young master? "the doctor asked he noticed that he had some problems.
"Yes but it's difficult, I don't see it very well."
"Okay can you tell me what color hair I have? "
Cale tried to focus his vision on the doctor but there was nothing he could do; he couldn't see him properly.
"I...I don't know" He hated being weak like this, he found it hard to tell the truth here.
The others who saw that Cale was starting to panic, felt sick; he didn't even know that the worst was yet to come.
Eruhaben who still had his hand on him tried to reassure him by patting his head, he was sure that he would at least feel her touch here.
The Duchess did the same, speaking to him this time.
"Don't worry Cale we'll help you okay? "
He just nodded at her words yes he had a family now he can ask for help he doesn't have to always seem strong anymore.
"Okay it's not serious, it may just be temporary after all your body is not completely recovered."
"Alright let's move on" the doctor held out his hand in front of Cale.
"Try to grab my hand"
No matter how hard Cale tried, he couldn't even move his hand, let alone lift his arm. You could see his pupils twitching.
"I...I can't..."
The doctor just ran his hand over Cale's arm.
"Do you feel that? "
"No..." His voice was small and weak.
The doctor did the same to his legs again with the same questions.
Cale's response was always the same; he didn't feel anything at all.
"Why don't I feel anything? I can't move...why do I..." he continued rambling like that even his breathing was starting to speed up he was having another panic attack.
"Calm down okay we're going to take care of you and it's just a temporary state okay while your body recovers."
"We are all with you, we are not going to abandon you, we are your family"
Eruhaben and Violan calmed him down as best they could, they themselves were in a chaotic state like the others. But one thing was for sure they were all going to take care of him like he did for them.
"Doctor, what do you think of his condition? "Everyone is focused on the doctor while waiting for his response.
"Time, rest and calm, that's what he needs. We will help him recover by giving him medicine and potions to help him recover accelerate your healing "
"Do you think he will be able to fully recover? "she really didn't want to ask this question in front of Cale but he deserved to know more than anyone.
"I...I can't tell you for sure but we'll do everything I can, I promise."
Violan held Cale tighter, she was going to do everything to help her son get through this ordeal.
"Okay, you can leave, come back later so we can talk about his treatment."
The doctors just left after that.
"Cale we need to talk to you about everything that happened, what's the last thing you remember? "
Break let's rewind a bit as the doctors spoke with Cale's family.
The ancient powers spoke just then to try to calm Cale down because he was panicking.
-Cale don't worry, it's really just temporary!
"Good but can you explain a little more to me? »
-I'll tell you everything since the meal, okay?
"Hmm"
Cale then heard everything that had happened since the meal and well a lot had happened.
-... and that's why I had to do it as quickly as possible
"Okay I understand thank you, but how long will my condition be like this? »
-I can cure you in a month and everything will be the same as before.
"Can't you make it any faster? »
-If two weeks but with regular blood loss...
"Regular? »
-Several times a day, a slight nosebleed or just a slight cough, nothing serious.
"Very well, I agree to that"
The ancient powers all sighed of course he was going to choose that option.
Okay, back to the present.
"No need, I've already been told everything."
"The ancient powers?" Eruhaben spoke up the others looked at him confused he decided to explain to them.
"Cale can hear the voices of the ancient powers he absorbed into his body, no it's not dangerous and no I don't know why either" he quickly answered the unasked questions, he knew perfectly well what could going through their minds he himself had had the same questions.
The others didn't say anything in response to this, they just accepted it.
"What did they say to you?" Eruhaben continued speaking; he knew they weren't talking for nothing.
"They told me that my condition will improve, and that it is only temporary"
"Cale..." he felt that it wasn't completely the truth so he was going to make him talk so that he would tell him everything without forgetting anything. He knew how Cale worked; he often forgot to say the most important thing so they wouldn't worry.
Cale who saw the look of the ancient dragon knew that he had no choice in continuing but he was going to remove some details.
"It takes two weeks for me to feel better like before."
Eruhaben was still looking at him, he could see his pupils glowing.
He bit his lip, he didn't want to continue, he already knew how they were going to react.
"Cale we just want to help you I already told you never be afraid to talk to us" the golden dragon reassured him he knew his past now, he must learn to trust them and they must learn to be more patient with him.
"...I risk bleeding from my nose and mouth during this time...several times a day..."
He can already sense everyone's auras and cold atmosphere but someone quickly intervened.
"Calm down, let him talk!" Eruhaben stroked Cale's head at the same time as he spoke to the others; he knew he might get scared, that he would stop talking or try to lie if we pushed him too much.
Once he saw that everyone had calmed down he continued talking.
"What was the other option?" from his experience he knew that Cale would always choose the solution, the most difficult one especially for himself his instinct told him that this was the case again here and as he refused to listen to him several times and that each time something serious happened. He wasn't going to make the same mistake again.
Cale gave up lying, he told the whole truth, he just had to try to convince them.
"One month and no side effects..."
The room was quiet of course they knew it Cale obviously chose the worst solution.
"Choose the other option! "it was the duke who spoke he could no longer bear to see his son suffer even if it was longer at least he would be safer and they would all take care of him. His tone was firm and strong enough to consider that he had raised his voice at his son.
Violan and the golden dragon, one of whom had his hand on his head and the other who had a gaze still fixed on his face, both noticed that he was tense at Deruth's loud voice.
"Dear, calm down."
" No ! I'm tired of letting him choose and do whatever he wants, this time he'll listen to me!" the duke's voice was getting louder, it echoed throughout the room.
Cale is even more tense, this did not escape the two who were close to him. But only one knew the true reason for his actions. The fear of being beaten again. Even though the Duke was not the person who had originally hurt him, he was still scaring his child and that was unacceptable.
The others haven't said anything, they already know that Cale had a trusted father figure to protect him.
"Why did you make this choice?"
" I..."
He was cut off by the Duke's furious voice.
"How dare you ignore me?! I am his father after all it is up to me to make this kind of decision!"
Cale being still sick and tired his discs threatened to escape his control he already saw his uncle superimposed on Deruth's face. He was really close to drowning once again, his expression changed from a neutral look to a slightly frightened expression with hazy eyes.
The duchess and the dragon noticed it, the others also only the duke continued to raise his voice, seeing nothing as always.
Eruhaben tried to calm him down and the Duchess got up and approached her husband.
"Calm down, you're at the villa, remember, I'll protect you! "As he spoke to him, he took him in his arms to comfort him. The golden dragon took a look at the situation with the Duke, if the Duchess couldn't talk to her husband, he would do it himself.
As soon as she was near Deruth a loud noise echoed in the room. GO!!~
The Duke looked at his wife in shock while holding her cheek.
"If you don't stop right now I swear I'll throw you out of this room myself!" her smile was extremely bright when she spoke, reminding the others of Ron's smile.
" But..."
"Deruth! "
The Duke shut his mouth at her name, he had forgotten that his wife could be so vicious.
"Look at your son's condition, now calm down and let him talk okay!" it was not a request but rather an order.
He looked up at Cale; he saw him in the arms of the golden-haired dragon.
"I'm sorry..." he quickly apologized and hung his head in shame, he had unintentionally hurt his son again he was just worried about him after all.
The Duchess took his hand and sat him back in his chair.
They all waited for Cale to calm down so they could resume the conversation.
It took a while to do it and especially to push all the discs back but he managed to control himself. Once the dragon saw that Cale was better he released him from his embrace and laid him back in his bed while leaving a hand on his head to show that he was with him.
"So why did you make this choice?" the golden dragon's voice was as calm and composed as ever.
The redhead felt more reassured but he still didn't want to tell them the truth,...that...that he didn't want to be a burden for them and...
He interrupted his thoughts, bit his lip and said something else instead to divert the conversation.
"...the blood loss will be very light and I won't even be in pain, it's just-"
Of course the others noticed what Cale tried to do but no one said anything they let Eruhaben take care of it he was better able to get answers than them.
" Cale...even if it's just a little blood we don't want to see you suffer, even if you don't feel pain it's still important to us. And that's not what I asked you, it won't work on me, answer my question" his tone wasn't scolding he remained soft after all he only wanted simple answers.
"I..." Cale was really hesitant to answer her question, so he just kept silent and looked away from everyone.
Eruhaben just sighed at his stubbornness but continued to pet his head.
Deruth wanted to say something but was silenced by his wife who squeezed his hand tightly in a silent request to be quiet.
"When will your old power start to heal you?" Eruhaben asked, seeing if he still had a chance to change her mind.
Cale responded even though he still didn't look at anyone in the room.
"When I ask him to do it..."
"Can you wait a day or two?"
Cale frowned. He tried to understand the dragon's reason for asking this. He heard a sigh in response from his ancient powers.
-To convince you to change your mind! It's obvious ! *sigh*
"Oh"
-*sigh* this guy...
"No, I want to start as soon as possible I don't..., no I want to do it today"
He barely caught himself before saying part of his thoughts, which didn't escape anyone.
"Just wait a day please, I just want to talk about it with you"
Cale just nodded and said nothing on the other hand, he felt that it was a sincere request from the ancient dragon and after everything he had done for him he could not refuse.
"Rest well for now, we'll see later."
He just fell asleep after that he was tired anyway. Once he was sure Cale was sleeping Eruhaben spoke to the others.
"You can all go and rest, I'll stay with him."
Everyone understood the dragon's hidden request to give them time together so they could talk except the duke. The Duchess wasn't quick enough to stop him this time.
"No, I want to stay with my son, he should not make his choice on a whim! I won't let him!"
"Deruth!"
"No-" he was cut off by a powerful force pushing him back and making him tremble in fear, he was unable to continue speaking.
"How dare you say that he's still your son after not even noticing that he was afraid of you or how you cowardly abandoned him when he was a child?! you can't even be called a father! I also made a mistake, I hurt him but unlike you I recognized it and tried to change! "Eruhaben was very angry with this human even if he knew that his Cale had not experienced all that, he had still made a child and his child suffer and that he could not forgive.
"I-"
" Shut up ! Don't you even dare speak anymore, please ma'am let me talk to Cale."
Violan did not defend her husband after all he was right but she also felt guilty but it was not the moment Cale was more important. She pulled the Duke's arm and forced him out of the room. All that was left was the golden dragon and Cale who was sleeping in the room. He sat back on the chair next to the bed and held his hand waiting for him to wake up again.
During the rest of the day no one came into the room. Cale didn't wake up until dinner time.
