Kevin knows exactly how he wants to confess to Aaron.

Perfecting the phrasing is just such a grinding process.

unfortunately this made me laugh multiple times and is also very well written

“Fine. Have fun looking at your weird sausage website.” Neil leans to aggressively flick the switch by the door. The space is still lit, dimly, by the lamp in Neil’s bedroom. But he storms inside and slams the door shut behind him, leaving Kevin in the dark.

When he opens his laptop, the bright screen comes to his aid. A white document says two taunting words: Sausage Puns.

It illuminates Kevin’s face; highlights Kevin’s torment.

“You’re telling Matt about what you see on my laptop?” Kevin could feel the blood drain from his face and return just as quickly to collect inside his skull. “Are you normal? Are you a normal human being with any sense of—don’t actually answer that, you moron, it’s rhetorical, you’re clearly not. Close your mouth. I want to kill you.”

    “Do you like men?”

“Don’t talk to me,” Kevin demands. “Don’t talk to me, don’t look at me, pretend you don’t know me when we’re in public. Our relationship exists on the court, and the few seconds that it takes in the dorms to let you know when we’re leaving for the court. I’m going to kill you, Neil.”

“Neil, stop thinking. Nothing good comes of it.”

“You always complain that I don’t think enough,” Neil says indignantly.

“Just stop, then,” Kevin says. “In general.”

“Forget it.” Neil stands with a huff. “Do this yourself, laughing at you is my preferred team-bonding exercise anyway.”
