Work Text:
If this is a movie, then it’s not going to end well.
It’s a lonely hospital hallway. Some people are sprinting here and there, trying to reach out to the people they should’ve taken care of. Sure, they are medical staff, a bunch of nurses and doctors who are capable of saving someone’s lives. It’s their job, spending a lot of time learning about human autonomy and trying to find what can cure them or better; prevent them from dying.
Kwon Soonyoung is not a doctor. Hell, he’s not even a slightest from having a career in that department. Soonyoung sure knows to be a stupid alpha. Worse, a stupid mate for his boyfriend who’s nowhere to be found in this hospital.
He doesn’t know what happened, of course he is, what did he know about Jihoon’s activities nowadays? Been neglecting their relationship since a few weeks ago. Soonyoung let himself be drowned by his own pile of works and Jihoon did the same. Rather than have to hear another excuse when Soonyoung suddenly canceled their weekly dates. The details can wait to be explained later, for now, Soonyoung needs to find where Jihoon is.
Echoes footsteps in the hallway can be heard by his own hearing. The environment suddenly becomes eerier. Soonyoung feels his throat become drier, looking left to right, searching for something unknown. He once again opened his phone, looking at the last text sent by one of his pack members.
shua.
where the fuck are you?
at the hospital
where’s the er?
shua.
did you even fucking ask someone
you know what
3rd floor
we’re all here already
okay
Arriving at the 3rd floor, Soonyoung finally sees his other pack members. Joshua is leaning against the wall, immediately straightening his pose to welcome Soonyoung. The older man has always been providing warmth to each of them, including Soonyoung since he was just way younger alpha back then. Talking about enhancing welcoming scent, it only comes from Joshua.
The next thing Soonyoung receives after glancing his eyes to the other men is a hard punch on his left cheek. Soonyoung doesn’t get a chance to see the person who punched him. His vision gets blurry in no time, two feet can’t get in a straight position as it sways from left to right. Another punch landed on his head, causing him to fall on the ground.
“Seokmin –” it’s Joshua’s voice again, sounds like his throat tightens or something. Soonyoung smells blood from the corner of his lips, probably it got cut. He lifted his head to find Seokmin, one of the younger alphas, is currently being held back by his own pack members. “If anything happens to him –” Soonyoung sees how Seokmin growls, teeth gritting, “I’m going to kill you.”
Soonyoung spits to the floor. Saliva mixed with a trickle of blood welcoming his sight. Seokmin is dragged a few steps back to not have any encounter with Soonyoung for now. To be logical, this is the worst and best time to have a fight about what's going on.
He doesn’t even know what happened. Soonyoung was – well, he was somewhere else a few hours ago. Far away from Jihoon, his last text was this morning. Telling his mate that he’s going to work, Jihoon didn’t even reply to the text yet when Soonyoung turned off his phone.
Still debatable though, did Soonyoung turn his phone off or he just simply ignored everything Jihoon was going to send for the rest of the day. An asshole he is, everyone must admit.
“Young,” he lifted his head to find Seungcheol offering a helping hand, “come on, stand up.” What a good alpha leader that he is, Soonyoung states and still accepts the offering hand. “You know you deserve that punch,” Seungcheol says, still staring at the younger man from head to toe, “I didn’t even get a chance to land one.” Soonyoung chuckles airily, still getting a shiver running through his veins type of gaze from his other pack members, especially the omegas, “Yeah, I know.”
“You also smell nothing like Jihoon.”
“I’m bleeding.”
“You smell like someone else.”
There’s a threatening pheromone coming from the other man. Sending limitless shivers through Soonyoung’s skin. Judging from his attire, Soonyoung did not come from the office. Seungcheol also does not want to know where his ass has been in this late hour.
The ruckus pauses for a while when the ER room’s door opens. All of their eyes are turning in the same direction whereas the doctor is now walking closer towards them. Seungcheol immediately took a few steps forward. Greeting the doctor as the head alpha.
“So, all of you are Lee Jihoon’s pack members?” The 12 of them nod, “His blood siblings?” Seokmin and Chan raise their hands. The doctor nods while the nurse is checking something on her paper board. “About Lee Jihoon’s mate, has this person already arrived?” It’s Soonyoung’s turn to raise his hand, “I’m here, doctor.” Ignoring the sharp gaze from Seokmin, Soonyoung walked past the other men to get closer to the front, “I’m Lee Jihoon’s mate.”
The silence is unsettling for Soonyoung. To have the doctor judging how his outfit from head to toe is a different vibe. Soonyoung’s shirt is not that disheveled, but it’s completely not tidy either. Adding his scent is not the same as Jihoon, the doctor’s patient who he just spent almost two hours in the ER with.
Which is enough time to be familiar with his scent. That scent is nowhere to be found from Soonyoung’s body.
“Are you sure you’re Lee Jihoon’s mate?” The doctor asks again, needing a confirmation. Whilst Soonyoung is slowly getting embarrassed and, not surprisingly, he doesn’t like that. Thus he growls at the doctor, “I am. We’ve been mates for years.” The doctor is startled, fixing his glasses on the edge of his nose, “I apologize, because there’s no trace of Mr. Lee from how you smell. Either way, Lee Jihoon is fine. His condition is now more stable than after the accident. But, there’s something that I need to tell all of you,” a sigh escapes from the professional’s lips, another unsettling feeling creeping out from Soonyoung’s gut, “Because of his head injury from the accident, there’s a possibility he will have to undergo a mild amnesia recovery other than possible future surgery that I will now have to ask its permission from his family by blood.”
Another silence filling in the air. It’s too thick and eerie, any pin drop can be heard echoing from each of the people present in front of the ER door at the moment. Soonyoung feels a loud ringing sound covering his ears. For years, Soonyoung has been studying enough about a certain company’s financial environment, he doesn’t give a fuck about any other thins beside money and luxuries.
He doesn’t realize that his knees immediately go weak. Almost throwing himself to the floor if his other pack brothers don’t hold him back from falling, including Seokmin. It has been a wild 30 minutes for him since he stepped his feet on the hospital tile floor. To hear something he only ever heard throughout fiction media is a wild experience.
“What did you just say?” a faint whisper yet still can be heard coming from Wonwoo’s mouth. The doctor only nods, “Hence why I’m asking about the whereabouts of his family and mate, if he ever has any. Because there is also no trace of claiming bites from Lee Jihoon.” Soonyoung turns his head to the man in front of him. His body move faster than his rational thoughts to pushes the doctor’s body to the nearest wall, “What the fuck did you just say –”
“Soonyoung!”
“What the fuck did you just say about his claiming bite!?”
It comes out as a growl. Loud enough to make the other wolf tremble and cover their ears in unison. Everyone except the eldest three. Because Seungcheol is fast enough to pull Soonyoung from caging the doctor against the wall and throw him to the floor for the second time tonight.
There is nothing that can be done other than dragging the alpha from the hallway. Jeonghan and Jisoo immediately took over the conversation. The doctor converse about the details of Jihoon’s future surgery with Seokmin and Chan. While Seungcheol drags Soonyoung by the collar with his 30% force.
“Seriously, what is wrong with you?” Seungcheol held back his snarl, looking at the man in front of him as he slipped out a frustrated sigh, “Did you drink earlier? Are you even sober, Soonyoung-ah? Fucking answer me.” Soonyoung shakes his head frantically, his face is red either from the possible alcohol or adrenaline rushing inside of him. “What –” a hiccup escapes from his mouth, “What did the doctor mean about the claiming bite, hyung?” Soonyoung stares at Seungcheol in silence. Seungcheol lifted his head, notice the tears pooling in Soonyoung’s eyes, “I don’t even know what the hell both of you have been through, but as far as I know, a claiming bite can disappear when a pair of mates has not been sexually active. Jihoon’s mentality probably triggered the disappearance, hence my question is what happened between you two?” the question hung in the air, “Did both of you get into another fight? When was the last time both of you spent a heat or rut together?”
Soonyoung knows his head is going to be hung in front of the public if he answers the question honestly. He did drink half a glass with some of his colleagues earlier. Far away from where his house is and supposed to be where he belongs; exactly by Jihoon’s side like a normal mate he is. Ironically, Soonyoung is not the same as the other mate in this world.
It is undeniable, but their relationship has been drifting since Soonyoung decided to let himself be drowned by his works and other company bonding activities. A lot of questions popped up in everyone’s mind. Did Soonyoung cheat? No, he didn’t. Then why does he smell different from Jihoon’s usual scent? Because he has been far away from his own mate.
Soonyoung won’t deny if Jihoon has ever had a glimpse of wanting to break things up between them. It’s been a long time coming and such an asshole Soonyoung is, he’s also waiting for it. They were still texting until this morning. Yes, it has been more than 10 hours since they texted and everything is slowly coming back to Soonyoung.
ji.

you too
Soonyoung feels like an asshole right now. Well, he should be. To know Jihoon’s claiming bite has disappeared. Unless the doctor is trying to scare him off.
He wipes the tears on his cheek. Walking back to where the ER is. His eyes immediately meet with Junhui and Wonwoo who are still waiting outside. Junhui is sipping a juice box while Wonwoo straightens his pose, putting one of his hands inside the pants pocket.
“Where are the others?” Soonyoung asks, chest moving up and down as he tries controlling his breathing pace. Junhui makes his sipping sound louder and Wonwoo only raises an eyebrow. “Seokmin and Chan are inside. They are more important than you,” Wonwoo replies softly, it feels like an invisible dagger stuck on Soonyoung’s heart. The other alpha sniffed the air, trying to catch the different scent everyone talked about, “You smell so much like alcohol, Soonyoung. What the fuck happened?” Before Soonyoung explained his defense, which is not needed either way, Wonwoo cut him off, “Jihoon already told me all about it. The way that both of you haven’t even meet each other these past months because of, what, a fucking work? Get a grip on yourself. He suffered a lot and I know you’re not,” Wonwoo presses, threatening, “You’re not feeling guilty at all.”
That’s not, Soonyoung chokes on himself, that’s not how I feel. Soonyoung is self aware that he’s an asshole. But nothing has ever crossed his mind he will just leave Jihoon like that when he’s in a bad situation. Soonyoung has and will always love Jihoon, this all happened because of him, thus he knows.
He knows that he caused all of this.
The ER door opens again, showing the same nurse who accompanied the doctor who took care of Jihoon. Soonyoung wipes his tears as he meets her gaze. The next thing he knows is he’s walking towards where Jihoon is. His mate was moved to a temporary room while his family members are currently doing the administration work for his hospital stay.
As Soonyoung steps into the room, Jihoon is sitting on the hospital bed. Chan is sitting beside him, rubbing his oldest brother’s knuckles softly as he stares at Soonyoung who’s joining them in the room. The room is quite chilly, Soonyoung immediately thinks about how Jihoon feels because he’s a little bit cranky when it’s cold. He sees Jihoon turn to Chan, muttering something to the younger while Soonyoung is standing only a meter from him.
Then Chan stands up, patting Jihoon’s knuckles as he tells the older man that he’ll be back. Before walking past Soonyoung, he can hear the younger whisper to him. “It’s not that severe,” Chan doesn’t bother to glance at Soonyoung, “the bite is still there, but he doesn’t remember who he’s mated for. He also forgot about me and Seokmin hyung, but it’s solved, at least for now.” Soonyoung nods, receiving a quick pat on the shoulder, “He probably didn’t remember because you weren’t present in his life that much lately. This is your chance.”
He doesn’t need to be told, but Soonyoung is a pessimist by heart. Especially if it involves how his and Jihoon’s relationship is currently going. Standing side by side for years, still don’t know where to go. Do they even have the guts to continue to the next chapter? Or just having the title as mates for the rest of their lives without tying a proper knot known by the country?
After Chan left, Soonyoung quietly sat on the chair beside the bed. Jihoon still stares at him, shifting on his bed as if he’s making a space for Soonyoung to sit beside him. Probably a muscle memory, because Jihoon has always loved the time when Soonyoung gets back from work and decides to stop by his place. Soonyoung’s heart lurches, he doesn’t remember when the last time he dropped by Jihoon’s place.
“Hi,” Soonyoung greets and Jihoon tilts his head slightly, “You probably don’t remember me and I’ll try to make you remember, slowly, of course. My name is Kwon Soonyoung and I’m also your mate.” Pushing down his collar for a bit to show the bite mark Jihoon bit a few years ago. He sees Jihoon rubbing the place where his mark should be. “The doctor told me it disappeared when I arrived,” Jihoon mutters, staring intensely at Soonyoung, “but it’s back now. I supposed because I still thought about you somewhere while unconscious.”
Normal people will take it as a borderline insult. But Soonyoung, on the other hand, appreciates it. He expected Jihoon’s reaction to be worse than this. Way worse, knowing he is usually calm when he’s at his highest level of anger and disappointment.
“Yeah, I think so too.”
“So, what happened to us?”
“Huh?”
“Us,” Jihoon states again, “I didn’t have much memory of you, but I still think about you at the same time.” Soonyoung’s mouth parts open slightly, but nothing comes out from it. “We kind of drifted apart and none of us want to talk about it,” Soonyoung starts, “I think you wanted to talk about it, but I don’t have time to do all that. Hence our relationship just stays like this.” Jihoon nods his head, gears turning in his mind, “So, we should’ve broken up a long time ago?” he sniffs the scent lingers in the room, “You smell nothing like me too. You weren’t there when the accident happened then.”
Turns out amnesia Jihoon is more ruthless than he usually is. It’s like facing Jihoon when he was still in their college years. When Jihoon often uses a lot of scent blockers, embarrassed to be born as an omega. It was when Soonyoung guided him to step on the light slowly and very much convinced Jihoon that there was nothing wrong to be born as the best people in the world.
Despite all of that, Soonyoung accepts every fact thrown at him tonight. He can’t also force Jihoon to remember him for instance. His fate as Jihoon’s mate has crumbled since the day he didn’t bat an eye at him. Never considered their relationship as one of his priorities anymore.
“I’d like to –” Soonyoung stares at Jihoon, “I’d like to remember. I want to know why we ended up in the first place. You must be a good guy.” The statement left the alpha speechless. “Why do you think that?” He asks and Jihoon only replies with a little shrug, “Chan saw you with respect earlier. The same he gave me and Seokmin. You must be also important to him. Are we in the same pack?” Soonyoung nods, wiping the tears falling on his cheeks, “Yes, yes. We always have been in the same pack. You will probably meet the oldest of our pack, they are the ones who always keep an eye on us.” It’s Jihoon’s turn to nod, plastering a soft smile on his lips as his eyes also squints, “Thank you, Soonyoung.”
Since then, Soonyoung has never left Jihoon’s side anymore. He was given a second chance from the universe to be a better man. It sounds like bullshit crap coming from Soonyoung who is a man himself. But he does want to be better, to know how hurt he is that Jihoon doesn’t have any slightest memory about him, hence he still wants to know when and how they ended up together.
Probably amnesia Jihoon was also confused on why the Lee Jihoon wanted to be with Kwon Soonyoung. Especially when the state of Soonyoung he saw for the first time was after he got punched and dragged to the floor by his own pack members. But at least Soonyoung has a spirit. The flame burning inside of him wanting to fix everything that has been broken since the start.
Soonyoung started with decreasing his personal time with his work colleagues. He was indeed very busy with his personal pleasures, feeling surprised when his work colleagues were very much understanding about his reason to be with his mate. The news about Jihoon’s amnesia is being kept closely by the pack members and Jihoon’s family. Soonyoung only tells outsiders that his mate was in an accident, fullstop.
Jihoon has been moved to a normal hospital patient room from the temporary one. He has surgery scheduled this week and at least for another week he has to go through recovery regarding the head injury. Throughout that, Soonyoung already scheduled a paid leave to accompany Jihoon for his surgery. Because it’s scheduled on a weekday.
“Are your works okay? You told me it’s about finance, right?” Jihoon asks one night after Soonyoung got back from work. The alpha immediately shakes his head frantically, kimchi still stuffed inside his mouth. “No, no! It’s fine, it’s not like the department will crumble if I leave only for one or two days,” he answers with a wide grin. Jihoon let out a small ah, “Then why didn’t you come home often?” and it’s another silence filling the room.
Sometimes, most of the time actually, Jihoon will blurt out a question that maybe has been piled up under his consciousness. It might be the question that has been haunting Jihoon’s head without him realizing it. All the confused and worse possibilities regarding their relationship, slowly turning into nightmares, and even a habit. To even normalize what they have and still wish for a better future for them.
Jihoon blinks, realizing what he just said. “Oh, I’m sorry, I –” Soonyoung nods, rubbing Jihoon’s knuckles softly, “It’s okay. It must be another question coming from you before the accident. I should explain it too.” Jihoon looks worried, but he lets Soonyoung talk. “I’m sorry that I let our relationship crumble just like that. I was very much drowned myself in work and other personal things, to not even think about you in the slightest. The reason why you don’t have any recent memory about me is because I wasn’t there frequently,” Soonyoung stared at Jihoon’s face who changed from confusion to sadness, “Ironic, right? Well, it happened. Just like what you told me early on that first night when we finally met again and you forgot all about us, but it’s okay. It’s not like I’m forcing you to be with me again, the bite has disappeared once, it can be gone again too in the future.”
“But, I don’t want to.”
“Don’t want what?”
“For the bite to disappear,” Jihoon states again, “I think we can fix what we had once.” Soonyoung feels skeptical and guilty at once. Because he feels like he’s forcing Jihoon with his presence. “I –” Soonyoung stopped from whatever he’s going to say when Jihoon held his hand on the bed, “Don’t leave again.”
Right, Soonyoung had left the pedestal they were standing on together a long time ago. Jihoon was pushed from the pedestal and is trying to get back on it again. Hence he wants to stand on it with Soonyoung too. Because it’s their place together since the beginning.
Since then, Jihoon has always requested Soonyoung to bring things that required their memories together. Resting in one of Soonyoung’s shelves in his apartment, there is an old handycam that was filled with their memories. Soonyoung decided to bring the handycam alongside other clothes belonging to Jihoon that were left in his apartment on purpose. He made sure to clean it and get it ready to wear before visiting Jihoon in the hospital.
Arriving at Jihoon’s room, his mate is currently chatting with Seungcheol and Jeonghan. The oldest omega in the pack is showing a video of his kindergarten students that once Jihoon memorized their names because he visited them long ago for a project Jeonghan proposed. Soonyoung smiles softly, putting the bags on the sofa before receiving a hand greeting from the pack head. Seungcheol squeezes his hand, staring at him in the eyes.
“Are you okay?” Seungcheol asks. Soonyoung sighs before shrugging his shoulders, “Never been better.” The younger alpha glances towards the bed, Jihoon is still invested in another video Jeonghan is currently showing to him. “Heard from Seokmin that you’ve been coming back here until he or Chan came to accompany him,” Seungcheol states, “Yeah, I want to. I also told him that if it’s bothering or I make him feel uncomfortable, just let me know. But he never complained about anything until now,” Soonyoung replies, fidgeting his fingers as he feels kind of nervous and giddy to tell Seungcheol about what’s happening between them.
All these things feel like school years again. Soonyoung shouldn’t have been thinking about it that way, Jihoon literally will be in surgery tomorrow. But he expected worse than all of this. He expected he will not be welcomed or even near Jihoon as per today since the night his mate was brought to the hospital after an accident that caused him a pretty serious head injury.
So, to be with Jihoon after everything that he put them through, it’s a miracle itself for Soonyoung. All of this is enough for him. Soonyoung can’t wish for anything better than this. Sitting beside Jihoon and accompanying him until he falls asleep, rest assured that everything is going to be alright.
Soonyoung felt a tight squeeze on his right shoulder. “You know that you still owe a lot of explanation to the rest of us,” Seungcheol states again and Soonyoung chuckles. Slightly bowing to the older as an apology gesture. “I’ll tell everything, I swear. It was all my fault after all. Jihoon deserves better,” Seungcheol purses his lips before replying, “Then you have to be better.”
I’m trying, Jihoon turns his head to meet Soonyoung’s gaze. He showed the video from Jeonghan’s handycam to him. Pointing at his own figure in the video who’s trying to teach one of the students to play piano in the kindergarten. Trust me I’m trying, Soonyoung chuckles, joining his mate to sit on the bed and carefully listen to everything he says.
Seokmin and Chan arrive later that night. Both of them bring various kinds of dinner to serve Jihoon’s appetite alongside healthy drinks. No more cokes for the time being and hopefully in the future too. Jihoon has been a quiet and calm patient, Soonyoung doesn’t realize the man has always been like this, because most of the time Jihoon does hold everything inside on his own.
When the three of them eat their dinner beside Jihoon’s bed, Jihoon places another kimchi on Soonyoung’s plate. “That was for you,” Soonyoung says, trying to put back the kimchi on Jihoon’s plate. The latter shook his head, “You love kimchi, Young. Just eat it, I’m fine with the seaweed soup.” Chan purses his lips, tightening the grip around the plate, “So, are both of you okay?” Jihoon nods, munching the seaweed inside of his mouth, “I’m getting better, not nervous at all for tomorrow. Soonyoung is also getting better for the sake of our relationship.”
Seokmin pointing his chopsticks, “I think his memory is fully recovered.”
Soonyoung agrees, “I think so too.”
The four of them are comfortable joking about it. Because it’s true that Jihoon slowly regains his memories. Later that night, only a few hours until the next day comes, Jihoon pats the empty space beside him. Asking Soonyoung to lay down next to the smaller man.
It’s not the first time Jihoon requested something like this. He has always requested it when they were alone. The only thing bothering Soonyoung is there are other people in the room and they are currently sleeping. It’s not like Soonyoung is embarrassed or something, he’s the one who makes everything awkward.
Thus, he complies, scooting closer to Jihoon’s body temperature on the bed. Not to ignore how Jihoon smells these past days is slowly mirroring his scent. The doctor told him a few days ago that Jihoon has been smelling a lot like him. Truly showing that they’re mates after all.
Soonyoung hands out his handycam while Jihoon is leaning his head to the older’s by 5 months' shoulders in silence. He focuses on which video Soonyoung will choose to help him unlock more of their cherished memories. The video that Soonyoung chose is written jihoonie’s piano for soonyoungie. There is no particular reason on why Soonyoung chose that one; or is there, though?
The first face shown on the handycam screen is, of course, Kwon Soonyoung. “Hi everyone! This is Kwon Soonyoung 11th grade of high school! I’m currently in the school’s music room, everyone. Can you see it clearly?” 11th grade Soonyoung in the video is trying to show the room to the viewer, which is an adult version of himself and Jihoon. There’s a rustling sound coming from beside 11th grader Soonyoung as the camera immediately turns to where it comes from, “Soonyoung-ah, don’t make much noise. It’s still class hours right now.” The camera is now showing 11th grade Lee Jihoon who’s now sitting on the piano seat.
Jihoon frowns, “Why were we at the music room?”
Soonyoung purses his lips, “Did you read the title beforehand?”
The alpha can see Jihoon's gears running in his mind. Judging from how he frowns harder than before, another urge to hold himself from kissing the latter is too high right now. The video is now showing Jihoon starting to play the piano. Throughout it, Soonyoung’s face was not shown thus they can’t get his reaction to what Jihoon is playing at the moment.
When Jihoon finished the song, his eyes squinted at the camera when Soonyoung suddenly rushed into him. Giving a lot of kisses on his cheek alongside squishing it under his grip. Adult Soonyoung chuckles softly when he realizes Jihoon is touching his own cheek beside him. He stopped laughing when the camera caught the two 11th graders kissing on the lips before the camera turned black.
There are still other videos in the handycam that Soonyoung wants Jihoon to watch. Then he feels a light tug on his hoodie from the other man’s side. “We have been together since high school?” Jihoon throws a question under his breath and Soonyoung answers with a quick nod, “Well, Seokmin already told me. Thought he was lying.” With that, Soonyoung cackles a loud laugh, not loud enough to wake the others up in the room, “Seokmin has been through a lot. Wonwoo was with us, suffering, throughout high school then we met Junhui in college. Both of them are still suffering from our relationship drama until now though.”
Jihoon mumbles something but it’s covered by how his lips squished against Soonyoung’s shoulders. The older man urged him to say it again, because he can’t hear anything to be honest.
“I think I don’t want to remember again,” Jihoon suddenly states. Soonyoung is lying if his blood runs cold immediately. Almost came out as a stutter, “Why?” Soonyoung asks with a hoarse voice. The latter shifts on his position, scooting closer to where the alpha lay on the bed, “Because I think this is enough. No matter, I try to remember by force, not yours but mine, it doesn’t come up like you always do to me. The previous memories are slowly getting replaced on what I have received from you these past days and I think that’s enough for me. It’s not like I will be blocking myself to regain memories, no that’s not it, I just want to tell you that having you here is enough for me. That is all I wanted and the Jihoon before the accident too. It’s not like I will choose another alpha to be with me after this,” Jihoon’s eyes lifted to meet Soonyoung’s gaze halfway, “Because with or without the amnesia, conscious or in unconscious, my heart is still call out your name.”
There’s a term called fated mates. Soonyoung has always believed that he and Jihoon is one of those fated mates everyone assumed they are. Because most of their friends are like that, until their relationship crumbles slowly and it's standing on the edge of a thin thread. Soonyoung even has a feeling they won’t make it to the end.
It is until these past few days. Soonyoung does not have the slightest thoughts of leaving Jihoon again. Maybe they have another chance to go back to where they were. At least for Soonyoung, as what Seungcheol told him, change to be a better man that Jihoon deserves.
Soonyoung also believes he’s the first one to move everytime they want to kiss. Hence judging on how wide Jihoon’s eyes are at the moment when their lips finally meet after such a long time has passed. It’s still ironic that even Soonyoung forgot how Jihoon’s lips taste. But, right now, he’s going to remember it all over again and keep it lingering inside him.
The first few seconds are alert for Jihoon, because he’s still a patient fresh from an accident. But then Soonyoung felt he relaxed under the kiss. Letting the older man lead the kiss as he slightly parted his mouth open. Tracing his fingers on Soonyoung’s cheek before pinching it, causing a surprise hiss from Soonyoung between the kiss mixed with his giggle.
“Jihoon –”
“I know.”
Jihoon nuzzles their noses together, pecking a quick kiss on Soonyoung’s lips. Still holding on to whatever is left between them and other things they will achieve together in the future.
The next morning, Seokmin and Chan find the couple sleeping soundly on the bed.
