Phoenix Fey was waking up to his phone's alarm and stopped it to look at the home screen that had him, Mia and Maya in a picture smiling.
Phoenix smiled at the picture and got up and got ready for the day.
He heard a ring tone and answered it
“Maya-?”
“NICK IT'S REALLY BAD…”
“Maya calm down, what's wrong?”
“I-It's Mia! She's dead!”
Phoenix froze and red firey feathers started peaking out
Phoenix quickly calmed down and the feathers went back into the skin like they weren't ever there.
“I'll be there, hold on, Maya.”
“Please! I don't know what to do Nick!”
Phoenix quickly grabbed his side bag and ran out the door to the law firm.
He came into the room and immediately smelled blood.
“Maya?!”
“N-Nick! O-Over here!”
Phoenix could hear Maya's sniffing and went to her and started double checking and sighed in relief upon checking her heart.
“Maya…”
“Y-Yes?”
“Mia's not dead.”
“She's not?!”
“Whoever did this to her will be though.”
Phoenix quickly calmed himself down hugging Maya to help her calm down.
Then the investigation started.
They got a lot of evidence until detective gumshoe came in.

Phoenix heard about the Prosecution being Edgeworth.
In the defense waiting room he walked in circles
“Phoenix what is this about? That Edgeworth guy. Do you know him?”
Phoenix didn't respond
Maya sighed recognizing Phoenix disassociating.
“PHOENIX FEY.”
Phoenix jumped a turned to Maya
“You haven't disassociated in years Nick…”
Phoenix sighed
“I'm sorry Maya, I'm stressed. First Mia nearly dies and then I find out who the Prosecution is…”
Maya got up grabbed both of Phoenix’s arms
“You're stressed Phoenix. It's fine everyone gets stressed!”
“Yes but if I get stressed my powers go crazy!”
Maya then moved to holding Phoenix’s hands
“You can prove to that court I'm innocent even with whoever is the Prosecution!”
Phoenix sighed and smiled at Maya. It was a tired smiled but a smile nonetheless and that's what Maya wanted.
“You're right. I can do this Maya.”
Phoenix pecked Maya's forehead before the two went into the courtroom
Phoenix looked at him.
The man he hadn't seen since he moved… Ran to Kurain and got adopted by the Feys.
Miles Edgeworth.
Edgeworth looked at Phoenix.
He finally caught up to him ever since that day he first found him and he ran.
This time Edgeworth would catch the bird and never let go.
