"Wait, Hyrule, hold on, there’s a—”
Hyrule’s forehead smacks into something hard and unyielding. “Ow!”
“—branch,” Legend finishes with a sigh. His footsteps crunch up. One of his hands touches Hyrule’s shoulder to turn him, and the other brushes his hair back. “Yeah, you’re bleeding.”
Hyrule tries very hard not to panic at that. He mostly succeeds, giving out a breathless laugh instead. “You know, I like trees, most of the time, but I don’t like it when they try to kill me. My world’s trees never try to kill me.”
Legend snorts and rifles in his bag. “That’s because most of your world’s trees are entirely different shapes. Or dead.”
“Smart of them,” Hyrule says, reaching up to touch his forehead. Legend pushes his hand aside to press a bandage of some kind up to it. “I would’ve killed them if they had done this. Ow.”
