   Summary

   listen this started out as a space hockey hurt/comfort au and wound up being a 'dream has undiagnosed PTSD and bipolar ii, is passively suicidal and using space hockey to self harm, among other things. there is also weird biotech and they're on a fictional planet'. see end notes for more detailed info/warnings.

   Other nights Dream didn't sleep at all, for a few days at a time, and Hob would wake to find finished canvases of incomprehensible subject matter, Dream covered in paint; or Dream simply not in the flat, staggering back in with hickeys on his collarbone far too hungover for Hob's liking. Dream went out at night and came home with two broken ribs from a mugging. Dream went out and came home; he always came back, except when he wound up in hospital. And yet it seemed part of him was always trying to leave.
