Let Go!

Summary:

It was a regular morning when Chan convinced himself to make Minho aware of the situation he found himself in with their child. Chan had been feeling it for months, a constant sense of push-back from Jeongin anytime Chank so much as laid his hands anywhere near Minho. But look, Chan understood he was slowly maturing, recently presented, still trying to control his emotions, but this is getting ridiculous. He hasn’t hugged his husband in weeks, only sneaking kisses when Jeongin is in school, and Chan deserves some love too!

Work Text:

Minho woke up first, as is the usual. The light pitter-patter of the typical rainy weather found in Korea drew him awake. An arm held him diagonally across his chest so that his husband's hand led against his heart. It was the perfect way to sleep. Held securely by the one that he loved, basking in the ocean scent that never failed to make him feel safe. Not that he would ever admit that outloud.

The only problem with this position is that Chan always held him tight… like, really tight. Minho loves his husband's strength, the way his muscles tense with how tight he holds him, but, because of his strength it is very hard for Minho to leave their bed. After being together for 20 years, Minho had a pretty good strategy.

Minho would first roll over, facing his gorgeous husband and admiring his face for longer than he maybe should, his hair in its natural ringlets that Minho wished would remain all the time. His eyebrows pulled together as he seemed to focus on his dream, a kiss was delivered in between them, Minho's thumb smoothing down the middle to soothe them. He placed a kiss on both of his soft cheeks followed by his nose. His plush lips were slightly parted and that is where Minho delivered the final kiss.

After his ritual of kisses, Minho would shimmy the pillow he had been sleeping on out from underneath his head, making sure it was thoroughly scented before slowly shifting the pillow up in between the both of them. He would make sure the pillow was underneath Chan's nose before lowering himself out from underneath the strong arms circling him. Once he is out of the warm cocoon of his husband's arms, his day begins.

He slips on one of Chan's large shirts over the top of his shorts before heading down the wooden stairs in their home, his padded feet and the soft rain outside were the only noise found within the house. Minho treasured his mornings, it was his only time alone with his feline and canine children before his loud, biological children would make their grand entrance. It also gives him time to bask in one of his favourite pass-times; cooking. Soonie and Doongie sat by his feet as he got out copious amounts of various meats to cook ready.

Minho was quick to get everything started, he had cracked the final egg into the frying pan when he stepped away from the slowly cooking food to feed his meowing children. He made sure each of his kitties had the same amount before he started on his final furry childs food, he poured the dry food into its usual red bowl with white bows decorated across it. He then stood at the bottom of the stairs and softly called out, “Berry!”

He stopped and waited for a minute before calling out her name again and this time he heard the faint sound of paws hitting the ground getting closer until he saw a fluffy head pop out from the top of the stairs. The moment Berry recognises who called her, her entire face seemed to light up, pink tongue lolling out the side of her mouth as she let out a little whine before trying to break the house record of who can get down the stairs the fastest. (The record is held by Felix, but that is a story for another time.)

He resumed his cooking when he knew all of his furry children were eating. He was adding the beef to his soup when he felt strong arms wrap around him, a smile seemed to quickly skim across his face before he was turning and glaring at his husband. All that Chan could do was smile at him through his sleepy eyes as he only held him tighter while the glare intensified, Minho's lips slowly pulling apart as a look of disgust slowly settled across his face. Chan could only laugh as he went back to hiding his face in his neck, kissing the mating mark that rests on his scent gland. Minho smiled as he went back to readying the family's food. Chan soon had to let him go as Berry needed her morning love and to be let outside, so with a final kiss delivered to his skin, Chan headed for his fluffy best friend.

“Chan-ah, would you mind watching the rice while I attempt to wake up the boys, please?” Minho said, sweetness dripping in his voice, the perfect method to getting Chan to do anything that he wants. Minho made sure to flutter his eyelashes in Chan's direction, so with a love-sick grin upon his face and hearts for eyes he nodded his head and almost floated towards Minho who kissed him on his cheek before heading upstairs.

Chan's eyes followed his husband up the stairs and out of sight before focusing down at the stove in front of him, Minho had practically finished everything. He always made sure to make at least one of everyone's favourites, he showed he cared that way. Felix’s and Seungmin’s side dishes were already made, the last of Jeongin’s chicken was in the process of being cooked before Chan would be able to plate everything and set the table, ready for breakfast.

Chan smiled as he heard Minho knocking loudly on Seungmin’s door, “Seungmin-ah! Seungmin-ah, Seungmin-ah!” He could hear Minho continue chanting as he walked into their 16 year olds room, the curtains being drawn open as he heard muffled groans of agony from his son.

Chan‘s smile never left his face as he began bringing plates and cutlery over to their dining room table. Chan was happy where he and Minho had ended up in life, it hadn’t started easy, after their first meeting in his second to last year of high school, Chan was sure it was love at first sight… Minho was not so sure. Chan worked his ass off in that final year of high school to get Minho to agree to date him.

Luckily enough, it worked, and so finally, at the age of eighteen and walking into his first year of university, he was able to proudly announce to the world that his boyfriend was Lee Minho, and he was the most gorgeous and tsundere person you will ever meet. And he was all Chan’s. And Chan has loved him everyday since.

Chan was still smiling to himself as he heard padded feet starting to make their way down the stairs. Looking up to the stairs he saw his oldest making his way towards the dining room.

“Good morning, Lixie.” Chan greeted as he watched his Beta son walk towards his designated seat next to Chan’s, his blonde hair flapping against his forehead and hoodie pulled on top of his head. Felix smiled at his father in a way of greeting, “Did Mama wake you up?” He asked as he lent down to kiss the top of his head.

Felix nodded before he said, “He first dragged Innie out of bed by his feet, he left him in a pile in the hall.” Felix had a deep voice naturally, but it’s even deeper in the morning. “He was nice to me though, only opened my curtains and hit me with a pillow.” Chan nodded, that was his Minho.

The conversation couldn’t carry on for much longer as more feet seemed to descend from upstairs. Minho and Seungmin appear next. Seungmin only said good morning to Chan before he joined his twin brother at the table, waiting for everyone and everything to surround the table before tucking into the delicious food.

Chan followed Minho back into the kitchen, as Minho made sure to give his kittens some more love. “They’re going to your fathers today… right?” Chan asked Minho, staring at the way Minho’s thighs seemed to hug his shorts just right. Oh God, Chan loved Minho's thighs.

“Yes… Papa complained about never seeing his grandchildren, and Appa said he missed his singing buddies.” Minho said softly as he turned and smiled at Chan, reaching out to slowly wrap his hands around his waist and rest his head on Chan’s shoulder.

“So that means I’ll have you all to myself?” Chan asked, pulling Minho closer and wiggling his eyebrows as his hands slowly travelled further down Minho’s back.

Minho laughed, throwing his head back, refusing to look at his husband as he replied, “You always have me!” Minho then looked Chan in the eye and continued to stare unwaveringly. Chan had eyes the colour of chocolate, mesmerising anyone that would look into them. Minho loved them. He released Chan then without waiting for a reply as Berry came up to them barking for attention which Minho happily gave.

Chan laughed weakly, of course Minho would think that. Chan started patting the side of his leg nervously. OK, this is his chance. Should he just be blunt with what he says? Oh Gosh…

In the beginning, Chan could just brush it off, Innie was a newly presented alpha, the only one of their three children to not present as a beta. He was slowly recognising and exploring his new instincts, and those instincts naturally materialised in the form of protectiveness, especially over his omega parent. This is normal. Normal. Chan was the exact same when he was recently presented, he glared at alphas that got too close to his mother regularly whenever he accompanied her shopping. Hell, he still growls now when he and Minho go basically anywhere. However, this was getting out of hand.

Minho was the main one that got Jeongin food and water when he first presented, and stroked his hair when the pain in his stomach only got worse. Chan remembered waiting at the end of the hall, Jeongins cries of agony having been silenced around 2 hours ago. He watched as his son's door slowly creaked open, a slender hand reaching through the crack in the door and gripping the doorframe as his husband's small frame slowly creeped through the door. Minho let go of the doorframe and gingerly brought his hand up to cup over his mouth, pulling the door closed with the other.

Minho's body leant against the door as his legs seemed to slowly give up on him, his body collapsing as he slid down the door, his body shaking as he brought his hand up to cover his other hand over his mouth, trying desperately to silence his sobs. Chan had never run faster in his life then in that moment, scooping Minho up in his arms as he slowly rocked them both from side to side, stroking his hair and placing kisses on top of his head.

They stayed there for an hour, then Minho refused to cry anymore. He had to make sure food was ready for Innie in the morning, and that was how Minho operated for the rest of the week. He never left his son's side that entire week, and since that week, unless he had to, Jeongin never left Minhos side either. That was a year ago.

It started out funny, Chan would laugh over and sometimes even encourage Jeongins protectiveness over his Mama. Small things, like glaring at his father if his hand lingered too long on Minho’s hip resulted in an amused look from Chan and Minho who would simply arch his eyebrow at Chan until he would put his hands up in surrender and walk backwards before continuing on with his day. Chan missed those days, they were simpler times.

He should've seen the warning signs when they went shopping that one Friday afternoon, Felix and Seungmin had to stay after school for clubs which led to just the three of them going shopping by themselves. Minho had been in the lead, walking ahead while his husband and son slowly trailed behind him.

The two had gotten distracted by the sweet treats on sale that they never realised Minho had wandered to the other end of the aisle. Not until they heard a low wolf whistle to their right, looking across he saw a stocky alpha biting his lip and staring at someone hungrily. Chan immediately felt disgusted. Alphas like that guy were sickening.

Chan glanced back to Jeongin to see if he had seen what had happened only to see Jeongins eyes slowly turning a ruby red, eyes quickly looking from side-to-side. Chan was confused for a moment until he heard the faint humming coming from the other end of the aisle. Minho hums when he does everything, it started in high school when he used to focus on his biology work. Slowly, it became a habit, and Chan hopes he never breaks it.

Following that distinctive humming led Chan to the figure of his husband standing on the tips of his toes, reaching as high as he could to the top shelves; the cereals just barely brushing his fingertips. His darling husband looked amazing, as per normal, the embodiment of perfection. But, it was perfection that belonged to Chan, and only Chan.

Within a second, Chan felt his blood start to boil, a low growl starting to form in the back of his throat. He watched as the other man seemed to stand up straighter, an arrogant smile stretching across his face. The disgusting being had barely taken two steps before two low growls filled the aisle around them.

The man seemed annoyed at being interrupted, turning on his heel to be faced with two very angry alphas, glaring daggers into him. Chan was sure they were a sight to see. Chan had done this before, it was like a hobby of his, to grip the man by his collar and then threaten his very existence before reiterating to the man that the gorgeous omega at the end of the aisle is his.

Except, Chan never got the chance to even reach out for the man before Jeongin was pulling him down by the scruff of his neck, making sure that he was able to look down upon the man, his eyes still ruby in colour.

Chan raised his eyebrow as he heard his son growling as he spoke, threats rolling off of his tongue like they were second nature, promises of his body never being found. Jeongin continued speaking roughly as the man tried to release himself from the 15 year olds grip. “You understand? He is my Mama…” Jeongin continued on with his threats as the man slowly began to loosen his grip.

Chan watched, not completely knowing what to do. The exchange lasted for roughly 5 minutes before Jeongin shoved the man away from him, blood speckled on the back of his neck where Jeongin gripped him. Chan approached Jeongin slowly, “Hey, Innie…”

Chan placed his hands on his son's shoulders, Jeongin was still staring at where the man had disappeared to. He was breathing heavily, shoulders raising and falling as his eyes slowly changed back to a dark brown. Jeongin never acknowledged Chan's presence, it was like he was in a trance, only broken by one thing; Minho.

Minho's voice cut through the tense atmosphere, “Everything ok, you two?” Minho's voice seemed cautious. He tried to show a smile, already holding Chan's hand and slowly reaching out towards Jeongin. “Innie? Are you O-” Minho couldn't finish his sentence as Jeongin was quick to turn around and throw himself into his mothers arms.

He seemed to hide himself into the corner of his neck, constantly rubbing his cheek onto his shoulder. He growled slightly as he reached across to disentangle both of their hands. Minho continued his hushes and reassurances as he turned to stare at Chan with raised eyebrows. Chan only gave a tight lipped smile.

They must've stood in that aisle for 10 minutes at least before Jeongin decided he was done hogging his mother. Minho gave his son a loving smile, smoothing his hair down again before turning and staring blankly at Chan again. Chan knew that was his signal to grab his husbands waist and follow him at a closer distance from now on.

So Chan did exactly that, he made sure no other person got within 2 metres of them. Purposefully ignoring Jeongin’s tiny growls every time he spotted where his hand led on his mothers waist. Jeongin can deal with it, Chan needed this, and he would never admit it but Minho needed it too.

Things had only gotten worse from there, Chan has not been able to kiss his husband whenever his youngest is around in fear of causing a fight and worrying not only his husband but also his two other sons.

Chan must’ve spaced out for too long as he was brought out of his daydream by a grape hitting him in the face. He blinked a few times as his eyes focused back on his husband in front of him. Minho was leant on his elbow against the kitchen counter, cutting board and knife positioned next to him with cut up fruit next to it. Minho raised his eyebrow at him, tilting his head to the side, chewing on a grape as he observed his husband in front of him.

“Are you back in the land of the living, Channie?” Minho asked, batting his eyelashes as he slowly walked towards Chan, grabbing his hands and rubbing circles into the backs of them as he asked, “What’s wrong?”

Chan almost combusted on the spot, Minho was cute. Super cute.

Chan swung their hands as he answered, “Nothing, bunny.” He brought Minho closer to him, wrapping his arms around Minho's waist as he kissed the side of his head.

Minho hummed, slowly tilting his head back to look at him, “You know, we’ve known each other for 22 years, and we’ve been together 20 of them, had kids for 16, almost 17, of them, and been married for 15 of them…” Minho then coked his head to the side with a smirk, “I think I know when you're not telling me the entire truth.”

Chan threw his head backwards, groaning, Minho knows everything. “It's nothing important.”

“It must be important if it's got you acting like this.”

Minho and Chan stare at each other for a while, Minho making sure to flutter his eyelashes and rub his fingers into Chan's shoulder where they rested. Chan could feel his resolve breaking, Minho knew how to make him weak, the words then just flew out, “It's about Jeongin.”

A surprised look was allowed to ghost over Minho's face before it was replaced once again with its usual blank stare. Waiting for Chan to continue with the problem he was facing with their son.

“It’s just… Lately…” Chan doesn’t know where to begin, he bites his tongue as mind comes up with different ways to tell his husband that their son was acting as if Chan was some riff raff Minho had found on the street. “Look, I-I remember what it was like to be newly presented, and I was never this bad.” Chan didn’t know how to say what he was thinking.

Minho immediately dropped his arms from around Chan with a dramatic sigh, “Here we go…” Chan didn’t let him go as Minho basically leant his entire body weight in Chan's arms, leaning backwards but not falling because Chan was holding him.

“Minho, I’m being serious.” Chan watched as his husband continued to lie backwards in his arms.

“Innie may have turned out to be the most pain in the ass of sub-genders, yes. However he’s still our son… he's a good boy…” Minho got quieter as reached the end of his sentence, bowing his head so that it came into contact with Chan's chest.

“Of course he is… I have no doubt about that… it's just…” Chan mumbles the last part causing Minho to look up with a confused look.

“Can you repeat that please, Channie?”

Chan had his head ducked low, refusing to look Minho in the eye. He sighed heavily as he finally muttered out, “It’s about you.”

Minho seemed to stop and stare, his eyes were focused and his brows were straight, with his mouth doing a cute downturn. Chan could basically see the cogs slowly turning in his head. Minho seemed to give up, looking up into Chan's eyes from where he is still leaning back into his arms, slowly bringing his hands up to hold his upper arms. His big, boba eyes seemed to plead Chan for an explanation as Chan almost burst from seeing his cute husband looking the way he did.

“Can you explain, please, Channie?” Minho said. He could tell this was eating at Chan.

Chan looked above Minho as all the scenarios filled his mind. Jeongin snapping at him for hugging Minho, growling if his hand lingered for just too long, putting hints of commands into his speeches whenever he talked to his own father. Enough's enough.

Chan finally looked back into Minho's eyes as he said, “Ever since he presented, he has seemed to be very… protective of you.” Minho immediately seemed to stand up straighter as he slowly began to realise what this was about. “Which is fine, don’t get me wrong, potentially even encouraged when it's against strangers, but it's not just against strangers… it's against me.” Chan maintained eye contact with Minho as he explained. “Bunny, it seems like anytime anyone gets close to you, apart from the boys, Jeongin seems to go a bit… feral?”

Minho slowly nodded his head, trying his best to understand, a small smile gracing his lips as he reached up to wrap his arms around Chan's neck. Bringing him closer to softly brush his lips against his husbands. Chan felt at peace. He loved moments like this, he felt that his husband truly understood and was giving him all of the reassurance that he needed. Chan adjusted his hands to slowly pull up the hem of Minho’s - his own - shirt, resting his palms on the bare skin of his waist.

“My love, we will talk to Jeongin together, and make sure that he is aware that out of everyone that we come across in our lives, the one person that he will never have to protect me from, is you.” Minho whispered quietly to his husband, giving him a kiss on the cheek this time.

Chan pouted at Minho. Minho rolled his eyes. Chan pressed his lips out to Minho. Minho furrowed his eyebrows and pulled his face away. Chan moved his face closer to Minho. Minho made a disgusted face but made no move to back up. Chan laughed at Minho's face and finally closed the distance between them. He kissed once, twice, three times, until Minho's facade started to slowly break apart. Laughter was settled amongst them. It was their bubble. Stood there, laughing and giggling as kisses were shared between them.

Minho's laughter never failed to make Chan smile, the omega started to slowly pull his face back, “I do find it funny though.” Minho said through giggles as Chan seemed to be trying to tickle him with kisses to his ears. Chan made a noise of confirmation that he was listening, not giving up on his current task of smothering his husband. “You are the one that taught him to be so ridiculously protective.”

Chan made a whining noise as he separated from his husband's neck, “I taught them all to do it… But! The main thing that I taught was how to analyse and find threats.”

Minho raised his eyebrow, tightening his grip around his husband, “You’re no threat, are you, my love?”

Chan pouted as he answered, “Of course not.” Chan smiled at Minho as he slowly rubbed circles into his waist, “What are we gonna do, Bunny?”

“We’ll have a talk. Simple.” Minho nodded. He patted Chan on the chest. “Communication, Channie. Although, I think we should let him see what is actually wrong, it’s instinctive for him, he probably doesn’t realise that he’s doing it.”

Chan nodded and groaned, “Please, let this go smoothly.” Ducking his head low to place it on Minho's shoulder.

Minho only laughed loudly, calm and clear communication is all that they need. Simple. Him and Chan had tons of experience.

By the time they both were ready, all of the dishes were plated and cooled enough for them to be brought to the dining table. Each dish was placed in the centre of the table, Felix and Seungmin staring at everything that was placed before them, both sharing a chorus of thanks to their parents.

Minho was about to sit down when he realised he forgot the fruit bowl and was quick to go back and get it.

“I can go and get it, Bunny.” Chan said, sliding his chair back in order to stand up.

“No, no, don’t worry, Channie.” Minho said with a wink sent Chan's way.

Minho slowly diverted his walk from the kitchen to the staircase in order to lean on the bannister and call upstairs, “Bang Jeongin, if you don’t come downstairs within the next 5 minutes, I will drag you down the stairs… again.” Minho waited until he heard the ruffling of sheets and the pad of feet against the wooden floors to actually enter the kitchen.

Minho bought time by putting away some appliances, only grabbing ahold of the fruit bowls when he heard the sound of the final chair being pulled out from underneath the table. Minho smirked as he sauntered back into the dining room, bypassing his usual seat next to Jeongin, purposely ignoring the pout that his youngest follows him with. His mother continued his catwalk all the way to the other end of the table.

Minho's eyes met his confused husbands, met only by the typical devilish bunny smile that he first fell in love with. He placed the fruit in the centre of the table in front of Chan, making sure to lean his face beside his husbands. This is when the soft growling from the opposite side of the table started. Once the growl started, Minho couldn’t help the smirk on his face as he said, “Enjoy your food, my love.” Batting his eyelashes at his husband's face before leaning in and placing a sweet peck on Chan's lips.

That's when the scrape of a chair broke any type of bubble that the family was in at that moment. Felix and Seungmin stopped their conversation to look at their younger brother. Chan could see Minho’s smirk of victory at getting the reaction he wanted from their youngest son, the smirk quickly turned into a glare as his head slowly turned to face Jeongin. As Minho turned his head, Chan could see Jeongin’s angry eyes being directed at him.

He never blinked and never broke his stance, neither did Chan as he slowly placed his hand on Minho’s waist. Jeongin looked ready to attack as Minho decided to clear his throat, successfully gaining Innie’s attention. Jeongins eyes snapped to Minho, his whole body relaxing before a sense of dread seemed to fall over him as he noticed the glare on his mothers face. Minho pivoted his body and slowly sank down onto Chan’s lap, never breaking eye contact with his son.

“Bang Jeongin… Did you just growl at your father?” Minho asked, tilting his head, glare still in place as a sheepish expression crossed Jeongins face. Smirks identical to Minho’s slowly started to spread on Felix and Seungmin’s face. Jeongin nodded his head guiltily, “Why exactly did you growl at Papa?” Minho then asked, softening his voice at seeing his baby's head slowly look to the floor… he wanted Jeongin to see that what he did was wrong, which is why he deliberately kissed Chan, but he never ever wants to see him so upset.

Jeongin slowly lifted his head, looking at both of his parents before sadly mumbling, “Gotta protect…” He sounded so upset and confused, large, dark eyes staring at Minho. “That’s what Papa always told us to do…” His innocent eyes looked between the two.

Minho turned around to face Chan, raising his eyebrow, Chan seemed to shrink under his husband's gaze. Minho then slowly tilted his head, glare hardening and waiting for Chan to say something.

Chan took a deep breath, staring at his son as he tried his best to think of the words to say. He tightened his grip on his husband's waist, not missing the way that Jeongins eyes only seemed to narrow more on the hands around his mothers waist.

“Innie-”

“Let go.” A low snarl escaped the youngest.

The snarl caused Minho to jolt slightly, was Jeongin even aware of what he was doing? The snarl was directed at Chan, a challenge almost.

Chan only stared back unwavering, both of their pungent scents swirling through the air. It was an unpleasant scent, one that Minho was very upset was even present in his house.

Seungmin and Felix shifted slowly in their seats, looking around at anything other than their father and brother. Felix even tried to catch the eyes of their Mother to see if they could leave. When their eyes finally meet, Minho simply nods his head at his two oldest pups. Seeing them both quickly jump up from their seats and run to the living room only served to fill Minho with more anger.

First, the territorial alpha stink that should never be in his house in the first place. Second, his sons are uncomfortable within their own home. Third, Minho is slowly getting more hungry by the second and the food is getting cold.

Reaching his limit, Minho's voice cut through the tense atmosphere, “Enough.”

There was a shocked silence as Minho looked between his husband and son. Standing up straight, Jeongins eyes narrowed, “You’re upsetting Mama!”

Chan mirrored Jeongins expression, “I’m hugging my mate. There’s nothing wrong with that!”

Jeongin leaned forward on the table, raising his voice a little, “When you smell like shit, it is definitely wrong!”

Chan held Minho tighter as his teeth ground together, “Maybe I wouldn’t smell like that if you would stop challenging me every 5 minutes!” He took a deep breath as he continued, “Innie, please, I understand, I was newly presented once too. But, Innie, you also need to understand that it has been a year! I’ve been holding back as it is, yet I never seem to be doing enough to calm you down.”

Jeongin slowly sat back down, staring at his parents quizzically, “Maybe I wouldn’t act up as much if you gave Mama space.”

Chan chuckled quietly, “He would say something if he needed space.”

This was quickly countered by Jeongin who still wasn’t confident in his fathers statement, “Maybe he’s scared.”

Now it’s Minho's turn to narrow his eyes, looking quickly at his son, “I’m not afraid of my husband.”

Minho can feel his anger festering low in his stomach as he was ignored by both. He never gets ignored. Not in his own home. Chan must be really annoyed.

Chan continues onward, defending himself and his actions in the calmest voice he could muster, “Your Mama has absolutely no reason to be afraid of me, me, of all people. I’m not some disgusting, feral alpha from off of the street so will you stop treating me like one!?” His voice slowly began to raise as he got more annoyed.

This was clearly the wrong move as Jeongin slowly began to stand back up, Chan looking ready to move Minho off of his lap.

Okay, plan did not work, Minho's mind seems to run a mile a minute. What could he do? He needs to get their attention. Make them both aware that what should’ve been a talk has somehow escalated to an argument. Make Jeongin aware that he has been a bit too much lately when it comes to his father. Make them both aware that the food is going cold and Minho is hungry. Suddenly a face flashed in his mind and he smirked lightly, quickly hiding it to make it more believable.

Minho schooled his face and spoke in a steady but firm voice, “If you two don’t stop stinking up my house and going round in circles, then I’m packing my bags, taking Felix and Seungmin, and going to Jisung.”

That works. That works very well. Jeongins face drops, his mouth opening, slightly shocked. Chan's arms seemed to tighten even further around him. A unanimous chorus of, “No!” Echoed through the room.

“Uncle Jisung is so much worse!” Jeongin called out, brown eyes getting wider and sadder. “You can’t go, Mama!”

Minho nodded and pushed against Chan's chest to let him go, levelling the father and son duo with an unimpressed look, “What? Oh, ok, so, now you’re willing to acknowledge my presence?”

Minho stared hard at Jeongin, he had to get something important out of the way first. Jeongin slowly sat back down seeing the intense gaze he got from his mother. His Appa was one type of angry, his Mama was completely different.

“First of all, I am not, in any way, afraid of your father.” This was important for Jeongin to understand. “And second of all, if anything were to happen, God forbid, then I would kick your fathers ass.” Minho then swirled around to look at Chan, an arched eyebrow and a challenge in his eye, “Am I right?”

Chan licked his lip, and rapidly nodded his head. “Of course, bunny.” Chan wouldn’t fight back.

Minho turned to look at his youngest, eyes softening, “Baby, I don’t know why you think your father is such a threat. I promise, nobody in this house is under any type of threat.” He slowly got up and walked towards Jeongin, wrapping his arms around his son. “Innie, I love you so much, and you love me, so you would never hurt me, right?”

Jeongins eyes seemed to pop out of his sockets at the implication that he would ever hurt his mother. “Never Mama! Never! I would never forgive myself. I love you too much, you’re my Mama!”

Minho smiled softly, nodding his head and running his hands through Jeongins hair, “Well, I also - unfortunately - love your father, and he is lucky enough to love me. He had the privilege of marrying me. He has had the pleasure of seeing my face everyday for 20 years and never once has he complained.” Minho continued, winking at his husband who was smiling at them. Jeongin let out a little laugh. “Innie, why would your father wait 20 years to hurt me?”

Jeongin seemed to be thinking, his eyebrows pinched together, before he sighed and looked at his mother. “He wouldn’t.”

Minho smiled, “You see?” Minho's head then turned on a swivel, staring at Chan and waiting for him to say something.

Chan shook himself awake from his daydream staring at his husband and son, “Uh, Innie, I understand why you acted the way you did. In fact I was the same with your Halmeoni when I was your age.” Chan made his way beside Minho. “I love your Mama more than anything else in the world, and it would kill me to hurt him.” He bent down to look Jeongin in his eyes, smiling at him. “I just want to hug and kiss your Mama in our home.”

Jeongin stared at his father with teary eyes. “I’m so sorry Papa.” He leant forward to hug his father close, tucking his head into the side of Chan's neck.

Chan just held his son close, swaying them from side to side. He dared to look up at his husband only to see a broad smirk painted across his face with an eyebrow arched. Chan flipped him off.

Jeongin eventually calmed down, taking his head away from his fathers neck to say, “Papa, you deserve a medal for putting up with Mama for 20 years.”

“Yah!” Loud laughs resonated in the dining room, Minho's eyes were wide, with his jaw slacked open. “Both of you go take a shower, if my house ever smells like 2 bone-headed, egotistical alphas again, you guys are going in the air fryer with Hyunjinnie.”

Jeongin and Chan rolled their eyes, grins spreading across their faces. Standing up to follow the order given to them.

“Oh, also, you both must apologise to Yongbok and Seungmin. It is not fair for them to be uncomfortable in their own home.” Minho levelled them with an unimpressed stare.

They both nodded, bowing their heads in shame.

They were quick to run off while Minho went to the living room, finding the twins back asleep and piled on top of one another. Minho smiled and kissed their heads before letting them rest for a bit longer. He made sure to reheat all of the food and had Chan and Jeongin wake up the twins to then further apologise.

From then everything went by just about as normal as a morning would for the Bahng Household. They made jokes, mocked Chan for being so old, got threatened multiple times by Minho, Felix talked about a new brownie mix he found while scrolling on TikTok last night, Seungmin reminded everyone of his performance coming up, and Jeongin boasted about his C in English.

Minho looked around and nodded, yes, this was how this morning was supposed to turn out. A nice and happy breakfast.

When the kids were dropped off at Minho's fathers place, Eunkwang was there to greet them at the door. The elder Beta screeched when he saw his grandchildren, smothering them with love and affection. Giving Minho a kiss and Chan a hug as they went inside.

The two weren’t the only ones there, Minho's cousin Seonghwa and his mate Hongjoong were dropping off their kids as well. Looks like the Lees were having a children’s day.

Chan smiled when Minhyuk came out, squeezing his grandchildren into tight hugs, before pulling his son into a soft embrace, kissing the side of Minho's head before making sure that he was alright. He smiled when Minho affirmed that he was fine.

His smile dropped when he saw Chan.

Chan's smile turned awkward. The older Alpha had a mixture of opinions on Chan.

“Chan-ssi.” Minhyuk said, tilting his head a little towards Chan, Chan quickly greeted the elder back.

Minhyuk had quirked an eyebrow, a steel gaze locked onto Chan's hand around Minho's waist. Maybe that’s where Innie got it from…

The two weren’t there for long, after making sure all 3 kids were content they went on their way. Both climbed back into the car where they sighed with relief.

“You know, when we get back home I think I’m gonna have a nice, warm shower.” Minho said, looking over at Chan who hummed along with him. “I deserve it after everything this morning.” Chan only nodded, focusing back on the road. “You could join me if you wanted to.”

Chan's eyes widened, taking a long glance at Minho, “Seriously?” His face brightened.

Minho and Chan stumbled inside giggling and holding onto each other. Chan was quick to back Minho up against their front door, his lips attached to the Omegas neck. Minho's hands were tangled into the alphas hair, pulling tight when he sucked over his mating bite.

“Channie, please.”

They were interrupted by a bark. Chan groaned and let his head fall onto Minhos shoulder. Feeling his omegas shoulder shaking from laughter made Chan laugh too. Turning to face their furry children the two noticed Berry needing to be let outside, Minho laughed harder before escaping Chans arms and slapping his ass. The omega was quick to make his getaway, running up the stairs with a giggle. Chan smiled watching him go, god, his thighs look great in those jeans.

“Catch me if you can Bang Chan-ssi!”

Oh yes, Minho was perfect. And he was all Chans.

Notes:

Ummmm… Hope you like it…? This is the first time I’ve really dabbled in writing so I hope it was written… well? I guess..? I was so nervous to post this but I hope you enjoyed it.

I do have more ideas for this family, like Chan romancing Minho in High School, seeing the boys in different situations, maybe seeing why Minhyuk is protective over Minho, sorry, I’m rambling but I do have lots of ideas. :)

Once again, hope you enjoyed and maybe I’ll make this into a collection. :)
