Curtain Fall

Summary:

Set in the here and now with flashbacks to the filming of Season 3, Curtain Fall explores the emotionally intense journey Nicola and Luke go on to bring Penelope and Colin's love story to the screen. How that process involved learning to trust each other and really understand one another. How the lines get blurred for them and they end up falling in love with one another. However, the odds seem stacked against them being able to confess their feelings to each other, and publicly presenting as a couple. Can they navigate the challenges to come together?

This is a slow-burn romance exploring the depths of being an actor and being a human and where those two roles meet when it comes to finding true love.

Prologue

Interviewer: You’ve said that you’re more comfortable being funny and awkward then you are in a romantic situation.

Nicola: For sure, yeah.

Interviewer: So how was this change [playing a romantic lead in season 3] for you?

Nicola: It was terrifying. I found it really intimidating. I had to really do some soul-searching, and I was like “well you have to do it because it’s your job and people are counting on you.”  To step up to that… it’s interesting because it reflects themes within the show that Penelope is going through.  There was a lot of stuff in this season that was life imitating art, art imitating life.
