Chapter Text
With Noah having a sleepover at the McCanns’ house that weekend, Olivia and Elliot had the apartment to themselves. Elliot had mentioned that he had a few things planned for their alone time together, and Olivia was very curious as to what he had planned.
She took a couple of hours off work that day, telling Fin that she was not to be disturbed that weekend unless there was an actual emergency.
“Sure thing, Liv,” Fin said, grinning at her. “Enjoy your weekend.”
“You too,” she replied before heading out of the precinct and making her way out to her car. She decided that she was going to get herself a Brazilian wax, as well as a manicure.
She made the ten minute drive to the salon she would sometimes frequent and ended up getting a gel manicure, having her nails painted blue, in a shade that was similar to Elliot’s natural eye color.
The wax took about 30 minutes and after paying for the services, Olivia headed home and found that Elliot had returned from his assignment early.
She smiled as she approached him, wrapping her arms around his neck and giving him a soft kiss.
“Wasn’t expecting you back today,” she said.
“We managed to get the guy earlier than we thought; he confessed to his crimes almost immediately,” Elliot replied, returning the kiss. “Bell sent us home to enjoy our weekend, so I decided to come home and surprise you. Is Noah at the McCanns’ place?”
“Yeah, they picked him up from school an hour ago. He’s there until Sunday evening. We’ll be picking him up after dinner.”
Elliot grinned at her. “So, we really have the place to ourselves?”
“Yeah…” she said, then straddling his waist. “We do.”
He placed his hands on her hips. “Want to play a game?”
Olivia smirked. “What did you have in mind?”
He picked up one of Noah’s Wii remotes. “Mario Kart. I think I can go three for three in winning.”
She raised her eyebrows. “Oh, you are so on.” She then got off his lap and went to grab the second remote. “You want to go for the Special Cup again?”
“Is that the one with Rainbow Road? I always forget.”
“Yeah, it is,” she said.
“I also ordered us some pizza and garlic bread; it’ll be here in half an hour.”
Olivia smiled as she loaded up the game. “You’re the best!”
After getting the game set up, they loaded up a new round of the Special Cup, and they started playing as soon as they’d selected their vehicles and characters.
The game was going pretty well, and on the final lap of the first course, Dry Dry Ruins, Olivia received a storm cloud from a mystery box she’d hit.
She saw that Elliot was about to turn the corner, and she immediately hit the button to give herself a speed boost, purposely bumping into him and dumping the storm cloud on him.
“Hey!” Elliot teasingly protested.
“Now we’re even,” Olivia said, thinking back to when they’d last played the game, where Elliot had ‘accidentally’ bumped her off the road.
They continued to play the game until they’d made it through all four courses of the Special Cup, with Olivia coming in first place overall and Elliot in third.
When the doorbell rang, he stood up to go and get their food.
“Another round after dinner?” Elliot asked, bringing the boxes over to the coffee table and opening them.
“Yeah,” she said. “You pick the Cup this time. And then after that, I think I’m going to go and grab a shower. You’re more than welcome to join me…”
Elliot smirked at her. “Sounds like a plan.”
