Chapter 1: Testing Loyalties
Chapter Text
Daisy woke up on the verge of tears. Nightmares again. The memory of stone crawling up her body and suffocating her plagued her memories. Daisy was having horrible dreams ever since her transformation years ago. Letting out a huff of breath, she threw her blankets aside and sat up in bed. The clock on her nightstand told her it was 6:47. It was still early. She wouldn't be assigned to a mission for at least an hour, which thankfully left her enough time to shower. Daisy trudged over to her closet and picked out some clothes. Everything she owned was black, so it wasn't too hard to decide what to wear. Then she hopped in the shower, the water getting so hot that it turned her skin pink. She didn't take too long, after all, she has a job to do. After getting out and dressing, Daisy was about to put on her shoes when she heard a knock on her door. She quickly grabbed her gun out of her nightstand drawer and pointed it at the entrance.
"It's open," she shouted. Daisy was sure she knew who was there, but you could never be too careful in this business. The door slowly opened and Ward stepped in. Daisy noticed he was holding a file.
"Seriously?" he said and Daisy holstered her gun on her hip.
"What do you want Ward?" she asked.
"We have a job to do," Ward stated, handing over the file. Daisy took it from his hands and read the headline, Project Blizzard. She flipped open the file as she turned around, walked over to her bed, and sat down. While she was reading about this new mission, Ward stepped further into the room, arms crossed. After a couple minutes, Daisy looked up.
"So, are you in?" he asked.
"How much is the pay?" she inquired, handing him back the folder. There was no point in taking a job if she couldn't live off of the payment.
"It's enough," he was quick to answer. Daisy still had a lot of questions, but she knew it would be worth it. Jobs were getting harder to come by these days. She pulled on her combat boots and stood up, walking pass Ward and out of her apartment.
"Let's go," she told him and he shook his head, following her down to the street. Daisy's van was parked in the alley next to her home. Just as she was about to head over to it, Ward grasped her arm, stopping her.
"We are going to HQ. We can walk," he said. Daisy twisted her arm, grabbed Ward's wrist, and pulled his arm behind his back.
"Don't touch me," she sneered, then started walking toward HQ with Ward trailing a few paces behind. They were only a block away when Ward strode up to Daisy and broke the silence.
"All you have to do is get in, find Donnie Gill, and make him come with us. One way or another. Got it?" he stated.
Daisy rolled her eyes. "I read the file Ward; I know what I'm doing"
The two came up to the tall building that hosts the laboratories. After sharing a glance, they walked in. The receptionist looked up from behind his desk as they they walked by, but didn't say a word. Once at the elevators, both Daisy and Ward scanned their thumbprints on a small glass panel. The small screen beeped then the doors opened. When they stepped out of the elevator, they were surprised to see the hallway lined with agents.
"Hail Hydra!" they all exclaimed. Daisy gave them a nod in acknowledgement before continuing down to her employers office. Ward was still trailing behind Daisy, but he was close enough to make her want to shiver. She squared her shoulders and took a breath before pushing open the double doors and entering the office. A large wooden desk sat in front of a set of windows and an agent was positioned on either side of it. A man was standing behind the desk staring out at the city when he wave his hand, signaling for the agents to leave. Daisy walked up to the desk and dropped the file on it as the man turned around.
"Go to the jet, I will get the men," Bakshi said. He started to walk out of his office when Daisy grabbed his arm.
"I want double," she added. "He's got powers. I want double."
"If you succeed, you will have what you desire," informed Bakshi. He yanked his arm out of her grip and continued out of the office. Ward and Daisy followed him, but soon took a different hallway and headed to the armory to gear up, then to the roof.
•❅───✧❅✦❅✧───❅•
Kenneth walked around the corner into the labs. He immediately walked up to his coworker.
"Mr. Turgeon, hello! I was thinking of going over to Salties," his coworker stated. "Happy hour and karaoke could be a load of-"
"Uh, Ms. Simmons," Kenneth stated.
"Call me Jemma," she said.
"Jemma," he repeated. "You are wanted upstairs for questioning."
"Is this regarding my analysis-"
"It's a security matter," he interrupted. Jemma froze and a look of worry swept across her face as she suspected that her cover was blown. "Uh, yes. These men will escort you," he explained as two armed guards walked into the labs. He looked back at Jemma. "What did you do?" he asked.
"Nothing. I haven't done anything."
"Well, then I'm sure you have nothing to worry about."
One of the guards spoke up, "Ma'am, come with us." Jemma glanced at Kenneth before the guards led her to the elevators which took them to floor 25. Jemma was then led to a conference room where a man stood at the end of the table holding a folder.
"Ms. Simmons," Bakshi said. "Have a seat." He then looked at the guards. "Leave us. Stay close... In case there are consequences." Bakshi walked up to where Jemma was sitting and dropped the file in front of her. "You've been lying to us, Ms. Simmons. Not long ago, you were a level 5 Shield agent."
Jemma quickly spoke up, "Yes, before Shield's fall. I was candid about my work history."
"You left things out," Bakshi explained.
"If I did, it wasn't intentional-" she stuttered.
"Stop... lying," Bakshi retorted. "You've been doing cellular analysis for Project Blizzard, yet didn't inform your supervisor that you knew the subject." He pulled out a newspaper from the file which had a photo of Jemma at a Shield Academy with Donnie Gill. Fear ran through Jemma's veins as she stared at the photo before explaining.
"I didn't realize it was Gill until yesterday, when I saw a photo in Kenneth's file. I-I would have said something-"
"Yet you didn't. What else are you hiding?"
"I didn't want to corrupt my analysis; analysis which I'd done before I knew who it was. I-I barely knew him."
"You saved his life."
"Only because I happened to be at the academy giving a le- a lecture."
"You seem nervous," implied Bakshi.
Jemma scoffed, "Because I am. I was escorted here by armed guards. I'm well aware of who I work for."
"Hmm. Let's discuss your previous employer. Why did you join Shield in the first place?"
"I was a 17-year-old girl with two PhDs and a million questions. Shield had the resources to help me answer them, now they don't and Hydra does."
"So your loyalties are with us?"
"My loyalties are with science. So long as Hydra allows me to do the work I want to be doing, then yes, my loyalties are with Hydra"
"Well, loyalties can be tested," Bakshi says as he picks up the folder and walks out of the room.
Jemma took in a shaky breath after realizing her cover was still intact. She knew she was a terrible liar, but was happy that she kept it together. After a couple of minutes the guards came back and directed Jemma out of the room and down a series of hallways. She noticed quickly that they were not heading towards the labs. Jemma started to hear a clicking noise as she walked down the hallway, which she soon recognized as guns being loaded. She turned the corner and noticed Bakshi standing with six armed guards. He turned around and looked at her.
"Ms. Simmons. Do you have anything warmer?" he asked. After noticing her confused look he stated, "I'll grab you something before we leave."
"Leave?" Jemma questioned. "Where to?"
"We've found Donnie Gill. We've tried bringing him into the fold before. Now we have a second chance. With you, a friendly, honest face. Maybe we'll have better luck."
Jemma looked at the guards who were gearing up, then back at Bakshi. "He's dangerous, isn't he?" she asked.
"Don't worry," he said. "We'll have your back every step of the way." Bakshi grabbed a jacket from one of the guards and handed it to Simmons. "Suit up. It's going to get cold."
Chapter Text
Jemma stepped out onto the roof with Bakshi and the agents trailing right behind her. The first thing she notices is the brisk air from being so high up and suddenly she's very thankful for the jacket Bakshi gave her. Jemma starts walking toward the Hydra Quinjet and notices a girl leaning against it talking to what looks like another Hydra agent. As Jemma got closer to the jet, the girl stopped talking and looked up. The man also turned around, but he glared at Simmons with this evil look in his eyes. Jemma tore her eyes away and looked at the ground to avoid blowing her cover. She was never very good at keeping secrets and didn't want to risk this man finding out.
Daisy looked at Jemma and nodded. "Agent," she said. "I was informed I would be working alone." Daisy then looked at Bakshi. "What changed?" she asked.
"Ms. Simmons knows the subject. We figured she could be of use," Bakshi stated. "I will not have you questioning your orders."
Daisy raised her hands in defense. "Just curious," she mumbled, rolling her eyes. Bakshi started walking onto the jet and Jemma quickly followed, finding a seat.
Meanwhile, outside the jet, Daisy was talking to Ward. He was quick to speak up after Bakshi and Simmons had left.
"I don't want you getting caught up in Hydra's mess with Gill," he explained. "In and out, just like you were trained, ok?"
"Geez Ward, it almost sounded like you cared there for a second," Daisy implied. "I'll be fine."
Ward put a hand on Daisy's shoulder. "I do care," he said. "Besides, as your handler, if something happens to you then my ass is on the line." As soon as he finished speaking an agent walked down the Quinjet's ramp and walked over to Daisy.
"We are ready to head out ma'am," he informed her. Daisy gave him a nod and went to follow him back into the jet. She looked back at Ward and playfully flips him off before turning and looking for a seat. She immediately notices the agent from earlier sitting against the wall with her head in her hands. Daisy walked over and sat in the seat next to the young agent. Jemma was startled and looked up at Daisy before taking a breath and closing her eyes.
"First time?" Daisy asked.
"What?" queried Jemma. She opened her eyes and looked at Daisy, confused.
"On an assignment," continued Daisy. The jet started vibrating as it lifted off the roof. "You don't look like a field agent and you have no weapons on you. My guess is you work in the labs. You'd be more observant as a field agent. I'm Daisy, Daisy Johnson," she said. Daisy held out her hand for Jemma to shake. Hesitantly, Jemma took her hand and shook it.
"Jemma Simmons," she stated. "And yes, this is my first official field assignment with Hydra. I'm a biochemist and like to stick with lab work."
Daisy raised an eyebrow when she recognized the name. "You know Donnie Gill from your days with Shield, don't you?" she asked.
"How? W-what?" Jemma started.
"I read the file," Daisy shrugged. "I didn't think you'd be brought into the operation because of your past, but Bakshi apparently thought different. He probably just wanted to make my job more difficult by involving you because I asked for double. Watching your back adds a bit of a challenge I guess."
"You're not an agent?"
"It's complicated. I have a handler, but I only get called in when my specialized skillset is needed. However, I'll only take the job if the pay's good."
"So you're a mercenary?"
Daisy chuckled, "I'm not a fan of the title, but I guess I kind of am."
Simmons was about to speak up again when Bakshi came up to her and Daisy. "We are landing soon," he explained. "Johnson, you are to take Ms. Simmons with you to confront Mr. Gill. Her familiar face should ease the situation." He held out two small black boxes. Daisy and Jemma each grabbed one and opened it to find an earpiece.
"What if he doesn't respond well?" Jemma asked after putting in her comm. Bakshi smirked and looked at Daisy who spoke up.
"That's what I'm here for," she said. The Quinjet trembled as it landed. Daisy nodded to Bakshi as the cargo hold opened and she stepped off, with Simmons following close behind.
•❅───✧❅✦❅✧───❅•
Daisy was walking through the cargo ship with Simmons right next to her. She was also taking note of the frozen bodies that she walked past. Daisy had dealt with many people with powers, but none as unstable as Gill. She walked down a small metal staircase after rounding a corner, then crouched down and put her hands on the floor. She sent out small vibrations with her powers to see where people on the boat were positioned and at the same time, looked for Donnie Gill. Jemma watched as Daisy bent down, but didn't say anything to the agent. However, Jemma was curious as they were supposed to be searching for Donnie. After a couple moments, Daisy stood up and spoke. "I know you're over there Mr. Gill. Come on out and we can have a civil conversation," she said. Donnie stepped out of the corner and looked at Daisy before noticing Jemma.
"Agent Simmons?" he asked. "Who sent you? Shield? Hydra? What side did you end up on?" He was slowly walking toward the two and Daisy put an arm in front of Jemma protectively. Jemma took a step back before addressing Donnie.
"I'd like to think I'm on your side," she said. The next thing Jemma knew, Daisy was pushing her to the ground as a shot rang out and raising her hand up towards the higher level before releasing some sort of pulse. Daisy then pointed her hand at Donnie before releasing the same pulse. She quickly grabbed Jemma's arm and hauled her to her feet before dragging her down a set of hallways as she shouted into her comm.
"We have a third party here!" Daisy snarled while hauling Jemma to safety. She rounded a corner and shoved Jemma into the arms of Bakshi. "Keep her out of my way," she seethed, gaining a nod from him. Daisy then turned around and headed back towards Donnie. When she came up on him, he was running down the hall, but he stopped at the sight of Daisy.
"Take a deep breath," she started. "Calm your mind." Donnie shook his head. "Surrender and you will find meaning."
"No," he huffed.
"Surrender and you will find release. Take a deep breath," continued Daisy.
Donnie put his hands on his head and closed his eyes.
"You know what is best. What is best is you comply. Compliance will be rewarded," she emphasized. "Mr. Gill, are you ready to comply?"
Donnie looked up at Daisy and smirked. "I'm happy to comply," he said.
Daisy nodded and motioned for him to follow her. When they got back to Bakshi, he directed Donnie to seal whoever else was there in the ship before turning and heading back up to the deck with Daisy and Simmons close behind. Donnie froze the door shut before following the others up to the deck. Once there, he went to the edge of the ship and started turning the whole thing to ice. Suddenly, a shot went off and hit Donnie, killing him instantly and knocking him off the edge of the ship. Jemma looked up and noticed Agent Trip. Trip nodded at her before taking aim at Bakshi. Jemma pushed her supervisor out of the way just as the next shot went off. Daisy was quick to raise her hand again and sent a pulse of vibrations at the assailant, causing Trip to drop his gun and fall back.
"Let's go!" Bakshi shouts as he directed Jemma back towards the Quinjet with Daisy following, bringing up the rear.
•❅───✧❅✦❅✧───❅•
Back at Hydra HQ...
"What the hell Bakshi?" Daisy shouts. She was in a conference room with Ward and Bakshi getting debriefed. "First you don't inform me that I'll be taking an unarmed, untrained agent with me, then you allow a third party to disrupt my assignment? And where's my pay? I was promised double."
"We are still trying to figure out how Shield knew about Gill," Bakshi retorted. "I've talked with my employer and you will be well compensated for your troubles."
Ward looked at Daisy who was clearly agitated. "You'll need to lay low for a while. We can't have you being on Shield's radar, especially after you used your powers. We'll need you to use this for your next check in." He handed her a burner phone. "Contact us immediately if you get into trouble."
Daisy took the phone reluctantly. "It's your fault they know about me in the first place," she mumbled before walking out the door.
Bakshi addressed Ward once Daisy was out of earshot. "We will need you to bring Ms. Johnson in again soon. Our scientists have almost perfected the latest inhibitor and it is crucial that we install the implant before she becomes self-empowered. I'd hate to have to put her through Faustus to get her to comply."
Ward nods then leaves through the same doors that Daisy exited.
•❅───✧❅✦❅✧───❅•
Daisy stormed into her apartment, taking her gun and it's holster off her belt. She set them on the table then tore off her gauntlets and set them down as well. Daisy let out a huff of breath before going into her room and throwing herself on the bed. She rolled over onto her back to face the ceiling as she began to question her employers. Hydra raised her, but they treated her like an object. With the constant monitoring and check-ins, it was safe to say that Daisy felt like a lab rat. She is 26, but she hasn't lived. After Hydra took her from the orphanage 15 years ago, her free will was ripped away. Daisy can't even leave her apartment without the tracker in her neck alerting Hydra. Ward is the only person that seems to care about Daisy, but even he is devoted to the organization.
Daisy sighs as she sits up on her bed. There's no way that Ward would help me escape Hydra so that I can live freely, she thinks. He's too loyal to Agent Garrett and I'd never make it across the street. Daisy stands up, grabs the black backpack that she uses on stakeouts, and starts packing it with non-perishable food from the kitchen. She knows that she's on her own, but realizes that Hydra made one mistake. They stopped restricting her abilities. Nine years ago when Daisy proved her worth on her first mission, Hydra stopped making her wear the gloves that inhibited her powers and implanted the tracker. That's when Daisy got her own place and was told that she had to check in weekly with her handler, Agent Grant Ward. Ever since then, Ward would come to her apartment to debrief her on assignments or take her into HQ for training. Because Daisy just finished a mission, Ward wouldn't be coming back until the next week, unless something came up, which gave her time.
Daisy quickly stuffed some clothes into the bag and went over to her dresser. She pulled it out away from the wall to reveal a hidden safe. Daisy put the small vault in three years ago to hide extra cash in case she ever needed to relocate. She never thought she would be using the money to go on the run from Hydra, but she is grateful that she started the reserve. There wasn't much cash, because Hydra never paid well, but it was enough to get her through a couple months.
Daisy quickly grabbed the wad of money and shoved it into her bag. Standing up, she pushed the dresser back into place, threw the backpack over her shoulder, then headed into the kitchen. Daisy took the burner phone out of her pocket and set it on the table next to her gun. She refused to take the objects on the table with her. Daisy didn't need the burner phone, the weapon wasn't necessary because of her powers, and the gauntlets- as much as she wanted to bring them with- were too noticeable and would only draw attention.
Daisy ran through her plan in her head. She would drive her van to the the middle of the city, walk to the subway station, and take a train to New York. From there she would find a contact who could create her a new identity. It wouldn't be easy living on the run, but she would take it step by step, and at least she'd be free. Daisy was about to walk out the door when she remembered her tracker.
Five years ago, she had left her apartment without authorization from her handler to go to a bar and she only made it made it two blocks before the tracker in her neck delivered a shock that incapacitated her. A group of Hydra agents then picked her up and hauled her to HQ where she was tortured as punishment. She's never tried to leave without it being approved since then. The truth was, Hydra scared her. They were powerful enough to make her disappear for good. Somehow Daisy had managed to stay on their good side for the past few years-avoiding punishment from disobeying- but times were changing, and she was sick of the tight regulations.
Daisy slowly raised her hand and hovered it over the back of her neck where the tracker was located. Her goal was to use her powers and destroy the small device, hopefully without causing herself any harm. She needed to do so before she left her building. However, Hydra would be notified immediately at the signal's disruption. This left her only a few minutes to get to her van and drive as far as she could into the city. The Hydra agents would go to her apartment first before realizing she wasn't there and then they would start tracking down her vehicle. It wasn't much of a plan, but it would have to do.
"Here goes nothing," Daisy says to herself before tapping into the vibration of the tracker and releasing a small tremor. She suffered a slight shock that sent a shiver down her spine, then felt a heated pain that made her feel like the skin on her neck was on fire. Daisy tightened her grip on the strap of the backpack to distract herself from the burning sensation. She had to leave now if she wanted the chance of making it out of the city. Daisy slowly opened the door and stepped into the hall of her apartment building before heading towards the stairs. Once she made it to the street, Daisy picked up the pace. To others she must have looked like she was running late for the bus, but in reality she was on the run from an intimidating world-wide organization.
Daisy rounded the block and ducked into an alley near the apartment building where her van was parked. She jumped into the drivers seat of the rusty blue vehicle and threw her bag in the back. After fumbling with her keys and finally starting the van, Daisy pulled out of the alley just in time to see two black Hydra issued vehicles screech to a stop in front of the worn apartment structure. As she drove down the street and away from her home, Daisy let out a breath she didn't know she was holding, and smiled. She was practically free.

Chapter 3: Determination
Chapter Text
Jemma walked into her house and sat down in the kitchen. The first thing she planned to do was call Director Coulson to give a report and get an update on how she was to proceed after the last mission. She took out her Shield issued phone to make the call. After the first ring, Coulson picked up.
"Agent Simmons," he stated. "I'm glad to hear you're okay after the run in on the Maribel Del Mar. We didn't expect Hydra to position you in the field on such short notice."
"I believe they were testing my loyalties sir," Jemma explained. "I suspect that my cover has been maintained, thanks to Trip. I don't however, appreciate your agents shooting at me. If it hadn't been for Daisy, I probably would have been hit. Although, I don't remember her actually pushing me do—"
"She's the enhanced that May and Trip described," Coulson interrupted. "Simmons, what do you know about her?"
"Well sir, her name is Daisy Johnson. I'm pretty sure she is an agent for hire, but she told me that she has a handler? And she wasn't intimidated by Mr. Bakshi at all. In fact, she was rather outspoken and very observant. I also noticed her powers resemble that of a telekinetic, but I can't be sure without further observation," Jemma reported.
"I'm pulling you out of the field. We need to track this girl down and categorize her threat level to Shield. If she really is just a mercenary, then we might be able to convince her to stay away from Hydra. She could possibly be an asset and we are going to need all the help we can get."
"Yes sir. How would you like me to proceed?"
"If Hydra really is gathering enhanced individuals, then I don't want you in the center of it without backup. Report back to the Playground immediately."
"Yes sir. If you could refrain from telling Fitz that I'm coming back. I would like to surprise him."
"Of course Jemma. We'll see you soon," Coulson says before he hangs up.
Jemma sets down her phone and takes in a shaky breath. She's worried about how Fitz will react to her return. He knew she left for an undercover assignment at Hydra, but he was never brought in on any of the details. Only Coulson and May knew the specifics of her assignment. Jemma realized that she shouldn't be worried, but she couldn't help it. It had been a couple months since she'd seen Fitz.
Rather than continue to get stuck in her thoughts, Jemma stands up to pack her bags.
•❅───✧❅✦❅✧───❅•
Daisy parks her van in an empty lot about seven blocks from the train that she plans to take to NYC. She quickly crawls into the back of her van and grabs her backpack, opening it up. Then Daisy snatches her laptop from it's shelf and shoves it into her bag. Slowly, she slides open the van door and peeks out to make sure no one is there. Once the coast is clear, Daisy starts walking.
It's late in the evening by now and Daisy is only a couple blocks away from the train station. She is wearing a dark pair of skinny jeans, combat boots, and a grey knitted long-sleeve under a black leather jacket. She's keeping her head down and avoiding eye contact with people when suddenly, someone grabs her arm and pulls her into a nearby alley.
Daisy turns immediately and looks at the figure.
"Back off Ward," she says defensively. Ward puts his hands up slowly to try and show her that he isn't a threat.
"I just want to talk," he assures her. "The whole agency is after you. Whitehall isn't happy that his asset has run away."
"I'm not his asset," Daisy snaps. "I'm a person; I'm not his personal project. Go back to your little hole and tell Hydra to back off."
"You know I can't do that Daisy," Ward commands as he pulls an Icer out of his holster and aims it at her. "We can do this the easy way or the hard way, but I need to bring you in."
"Good luck with that," she scoffs. Daisy promptly uses her powers to disable the Icer, causing Ward to drop it and storm towards her.
Daisy tosses her bag to the side and raises her fists just in time to block a punch that was aimed at her head. Before she even had a chance to react with a hit of her own, Ward had slammed his hand into her ribs and then her face. Daisy winced and tasted blood once her tongue touched her cracked lip. She instantly spun around, using the momentum to repel Ward back as her foot collided with his chest. He stumbled backwards, reeling from the kick, before he regained his strength and stood straight, raising his fists once again.
Ward rushed forwards; both he and Daisy sending and blocking punches until Ward got in a lucky hit. He seemed almost pleased as his knuckles connected with Daisy's face, splitting the skin over her cheekbone. She fell to the ground from the force of the blow and landed on her arm, ears ringing. Pain immediately shooting up through her limb. Daisy barely had any time to take a breath before Ward kicked her side, rolling her onto her back.
"I thought we trained you better," he declared while he kicked her again. Daisy moaned in discomfort. She was avoiding using her powers too much to prevent overuse— something she learned the hard way at Hydra— especially since she didn't bring her gauntlets. But it was clear that Ward outmatched her in skill, so her powers were her only choice. She held her fractured arm close to her chest and used her other arm to blast him into the alley wall. He hit his head with a sickening crack and fell limp at the base of the brick surface.
Still holding her left arm to her chest, Daisy pulled herself to her feet. She steadily edged over to her backpack, picked it up, and slung it over her right shoulder. She stumbled out of the alley, using the walls of the downtown buildings for support as she slowly made her way towards the train station.
•❅───✧❅✦❅✧───❅•
Daisy didn't run into anymore Hydra agents on her way to New York City. She made it to the train safely and sat down in the back to avoid unwanted attention as she patched herself up. The train ride would take roughly an hour and a half to get to Grand Central Terminal in Manhattan.
She could still taste the blood on her lips as she set her backpack onto her lap and dug through it with her good hand, pulling out a small first aid kit. Daisy opened it up and dug through it to find a small mirror. As she held it up to her face, she noticed that Ward really did a number on her. Her right cheekbone was bruised, her skin slowly turning a sickening shade of purple around her open wound. Her split lip was swollen and the blood was dried around the opening. Dirt and grime stuck to the skin of her face, making her look as though she'd been living on the streets.
The cut on her face was only a couple inches and it didn't seem to be very deep, but Daisy cleaned it with the antiseptic wipes anyways to prevent infection. Then she applied some antibiotic ointment to it and her lip. Next, she had to deal with her arm.
Daisy was almost positive that it was fractured from the way she landed on it. She'd fractured her arm before from overuse of her powers, so she knew exactly how it felt. Slowly, Daisy peeled off her jacket to get a better look at her arm, careful not to jostle it. Once it was removed, she pulled back her sleeve. Her forearm was slowly turning a dark tint of red that she knew would start swelling soon. Daisy quickly took the bandage wrap out of the first aid kit and started wrapping it around her arm. She didn't have a sling, so she would just have to be careful. Once she was done wrapping her busted limb, Daisy put her jacket back on and took some pain medication.
Now that she was done taking care of her injuries, Daisy packed the med kit back up, put it in her bag, and rested her head against the seat.
She didn't mean to fall asleep, but it wasn't very long before one of the train's staff members was shaking her awake. Daisy sat up abruptly, immediately becoming alert, before she realized that the man was not a threat.
"Sorry to startle you ma'am, but we have arrived at Grand Central in Manhattan, New York," he said.
Daisy nodded. "Thank you. Sorry for the trouble," she grumbles as she quickly stands up, shouldering her bag. As soon as Daisy got off the train, she found a restroom and cleaned herself up a bit. Then she used some of her cash to buy a New York Yankees cap from a small gift booth inside the terminal and put it on, hoping it would help her blend in a little more. If people assumed she was a tourist, most likely she wouldn't draw as much attention to herself.
Shortly after stepping out onto the streets of Manhattan, Daisy took a breath of the fresh air and studied her surroundings. Even though it was around 11:00 at night, the streets were bright from the illuminating billboards and the sidewalks were still crawling with people. She held her arm close to her chest and started walking through the scattered crowds, hoping to find a cheap hotel in the middle of the bustling city.
After walking for what felt like hours, but was really only 30 minutes, Daisy started to get drowsy. Without her gauntlets to help her channel and aim her shockwaves, keeping her powers under control when she used them took a lot of her energy. Daisy noticed immediately when she came across a small, three-story, hotel. Stumbling inside, Daisy took the wad of cash out of her backpack and paid for a nights stay, snatching her room keys from the hotel clerk. She was practically falling asleep as she made her way through the gloomy hallways and up the dark, rusted stairwell to her room. When she finally reached it, Daisy quickly entered— locking the door behind her— and collapsed onto the bed.
She would figure out what came next tomorrow.
Right now she needed rest.

Chapter Text
"I'll take a large black coffee please," Daisy states.
"Alrighty. If you just take a seat then someone will bring it over when it's ready!" the barista exclaimed. Daisy nodded in response before heading to a small table in the back of the coffee shop. She quietly sat down and pulled her laptop out of the backpack that was now covered in dirt from the fight in the alley. Daisy closes her eyes and takes a few deep breaths to calm her nerves. She's been on edge ever since she left the crappy hotel earlier that morning. After releasing another breath, the sound of footsteps drawing closer causes Daisy to open her eyes. The worker from earlier walks towards her and sets the coffee on the table along with a muffin.
"Uhh, I didn't order this.."
"You look like you could use it," the lady says with a wink, then she turned around and walked off without another word.
Daisy looked at the muffin with suspicion. No one has ever given her something for free out of kindness. She smiled to herself as she peeled back the wrapper and took a hesitant bite. The muffin was delicious, but she didn't have time to enjoy the flavor any longer if she wanted to survive. Daisy shook her head to clear her mind and she opened up her computer. It was time to get to work.

Tony walks into the common room to see his fellow Avengers lounging around. Clint and Sam were in the middle of what looked to be an intense match of Mario Kart, Bruce was sitting on a recliner reading, Natasha seemed to be attempting to explain how Mario Kart worked to Thor, and Steve was in the kitchen whipping up some sandwiches for everyone for lunch.
"Who broke something? Jarvis sent me another alert," Tony announces. "Did Capsicle break the toaster again?"
"Seriously Stark? Did you even look at what the alert said?" Steve responds.
Clint looks up from the now paused game, "He never looks at the alerts. Tony thinks that Jarvis will speak to him directly if the situation is bad enough."
"Because he will," Tony brags. "Jarvis is top of the line, as are all of my creations."
Natasha coughs to cover up a laugh. "Until they explode," she whispers to Clint. He starts laughing as well then stands up and walks over to Tony, slapping him on the shoulder.
"Might want to check that alert just in case," he chuckles. Clint walked into the kitchen and reached for a sandwich from the stack only for Steve to smack his hand away. Grumbling, Clint grabs a soda from the fridge and returns to his seat. Tony walks over to the other recliner and sits down. He grabs the spare tablet off of the coffee table and pulls up the notification from Jarvis.
"Jarvis back up all important files to the Mark XLII as quick as possible!" Tony shouts as he jumps out of his seat and runs towards the labs.
Thor looks up from the game to ask, "Where has the Man of Iron run off to?" Clint shrugs and goes back to playing his game with Sam.
"Jarvis, can you give us an update?" Natasha asks.
After thirty seconds and no response, Bruce speaks up. "Jarvis?" he asks. Jarvis still doesn't respond and Bruce gives Natasha a worried look. She quickly stands up and starts toward the lab to find Tony. It doesn't take long for Bruce and the others to follow because Stark isn't one to freak out over small security issues, but Jarvis not working is worrisome. The team arrives at the lab to find Tony frantically typing on his holotable.
"Tony!" Natasha shouts. He glances up for a split second before ignoring her and returning to typing. "Stark!" she growls again. "What the hell is going on? Why isn't Jarvis working?"
Tony continues to type without losing speed when he speaks up. "Someone hacked into my servers and was trying to gain access to our mission reports. They shut down Jarvis before he could warn me. He was just barely able to send me the alert before they shut him down. Whoever this guy is, they're good. I was able to boot them from my servers, but I'm having trouble tracing the hack."
"Were they looking for anything specific?" Clint asks.
"As far as I can tell, they were searching for information on a specific Hydra agent. It looks like they deleted the file, but I should be able to recover it once I get Jarvis up and running again."
"How might we be of assistance?" Thor responded.
Tony turns to look at him. "Unless you can reprogram a highly sophisticated artificial intelligence system, I don't think that there is much you can do. Just go eat lunch, but save me a few sandwiches. Pepper yells at me when I don't eat and I can't handle that kind of pressure after this hack today."
The team nods at him then they all head back to the kitchen, but Natasha stays behind. Tony turns back to the holotable and continues working on Jarvis.
"How'd they get past your security? It's the best in the world," she says.
"I don't know," he mutters. "But I plan on finding out."
•❅───✧❅✦❅✧───❅•
Daisy puts her computer back in her backpack and stands up. She finished her coffee and muffin a couple hours ago, but had to stay until the hack was finished. It wasn't a complicated hack, however there was a lot of maneuvers involved in covering her trail. Daisy hoped that she didn't miss any steps or else the Avengers would be onto her. The plan she had come up with was hard enough without them knowing who she was. If her face got out to the Avengers or the public then she wouldn't last a day.
After a quick stretch, Daisy nods at the kind woman that took notice of her. The barista gave a small wave and smile before heading back to work. Daisy left the small coffee shop and headed back out onto the streets of New York City. She couldn't move forward unless she looked professional, so she needed a change of clothes.
"Time to go shopping."
Chapter 5: Undercover
Chapter Text
Previously: Daisy Johnson hacked the Avengers database to delete a file. Meanwhile in the Tower, Tony Stark realized what happened and was trying to recover the file to find out who hacked him....
Daisy stopped outside the doors of Avengers Tower. She was wearing black leggings and a knitted sweater that, thankfully, covered her bruised arm. It was still very painful to move, though she felt oddly normal despite everything that was going on. She was about to walk into tower as though she'd been working there for months. She needed to get into the Avengers mainframe even though there was a chance that things could go wrong. Tony Stark may have been arrogant, but he was smart enough to at least separate his Shield's files from his main database. The only way to gain access was directly through the computer in Stark's lab. It was genius.
Her plan was simple... kind of. When she had hacked the tower a couple of days ago in that coffee shop, she inserted herself into Tony's employee database. She needed a distraction before she could add herself as an employee; that's why she deleted her Hydra file. Daisy's file didn't have much information on it because Hydra couldn't afford for her status to get leaked. It was a minor task, but she knew it would keep the Avengers occupied for a little bit. Besides, she was now officially an employee of the Cyber Security Division in Stark Industries. She would have direct access to a Stark issued computer and her clearance wasn't high enough to induce suspicion.
Daisy takes a short breath to compose herself before walking through the doors and into the building. She walked up to the receptionist with a faux worried look plastered on her face and watery eyes.
"Hello there! Welcome to Avengers Tower. How may I help you today?" Asked the woman at the desk. When she noticed Daisy's worried look she was quick to ask, "Is everything alright?"
Daisy sniffled before responding. "I'm so sorry, but I started a couple months ago and I can't find my badge anywhere! I know we were told not to lose them, but I'm already running late and I can't afford to lose this job. My husband is unable to work so I'm the one that has to pay all of our bills. I'm not used to working like this. I wanted to be a stay at home mom!" The receptionist was starting to feel uncomfortable so Daisy kept rambling on. "This is the only place that would hire me after the incident. I looked- I looked everywhere for the badge this morning and then I realized that I was running late for my shift! I live all the way across town and that only made it worse. My husband will kill me if I lose this job. I'm the only one to—"
"Hey, hey, calm down. It's okay. We'll get you a new badge printed and get you back on your way! What's your name and in what division are you?"
"My name is Skylar Evenson. I've been working in the Cyber Security Division for a little over two months."
The receptionist hummed as she began to type. "Skylar Evenson? I'm not seeing your profile— Oh, here it is!" She printed out a new badge and attached it to a lanyard. "I canceled your old profile and uploaded the information onto this new badge. The old one will be inactive if you find it. And please do not lose this one! You can get in a lot of trouble with the head of security"
The woman handed Daisy the new lanyard and Daisy put it on.
"Thank you so much!" Daisy responded. "I'm so sorry for the trouble I caused you!"
The receptionist gave Daisy a soft smile. "It was no problem at all hon. Just be a bit more careful please. I wouldn't want you to get in trouble. Now, you know the rules. Lanyard visible at all times, no using a security badge that isn't issued to you, and you must stop here before you can bring guests any further into the building. Have a good day at work!"
Daisy gave her a grateful smile and walked through the security scanner to the elevators.
...
The doors slid open and Daisy exited on the central floor of Cyber Security. She confidently walked over to an empty computer with a determined look that kept anyone from asking her questions, takes a set, and gets to work.
Daisy needed to get onto the Avenger's floor without being found out. It was impossible to remotely take full control of security through Jarvis without him sending some sort of an alert to Stark. That's why it was so important to gain access to a system connected directly to the AI. Daisy was now able to override Jarvis's coding without anyone knowing, thanks to this wonderful Stark computer. She really needed to get herself one of these.
When she was well over halfway finished, which took about fifteen minutes (Stark really needed to up his security), Daisy was interrupted by a "coworker."
"Hey baby." Daisy heard behind her. "You new here?"
She continued her hack and didn't deem the voice worthy of a response.
"I can show you around if you'd like," they continued.
In and out. Daisy thought to herself. Just get the job done and get out of here.
As it seemed, the man behind the voice was not happy with her lack of response. He reached over her shoulder to turn off the computer so he would have her attention, but Daisy realized what he was doing. She quickly grabbed his wrist, stood up, and twisted his arm behind his back in one fluid motion— like she had done to Ward a few days before. Daisy realized that the floor was empty because everyone was at lunch, which explained the man's sudden actions.
He grunted at the unexpected reaction. Daisy leaned forward and whispered something into his ear then shoved him away. The man scurried out of the room like a terrified rodent with no intention to return. Daisy smirked and sat back down to complete her hack. She glanced at the clock to see that she was still perfectly on schedule.
The hack was complete well before everyone's lunch break was over. The best part about being in the tower that she was hacking was that Jarvis was still fully functional, but Daisy— in a roundabout way— made herself the AI's best friend. And now Jarvis couldn't tattletale. Daisy transferred the codes onto her personal laptop and grabbed one of the extra hard drives that the CSD staff have access to.
You know.
For fancy computer stuff.
Shoving the extra drive in her bra and holding her open laptop, Daisy walked to the elevator. She was using the computer to talk to Stark's AI, Jarvis, without having to actually speak to him and risk someone hearing.
If she was being honest with herself, Daisy didn't think she would make it this far into her plan. From here on out she would officially be winging it. Then again, if she was being completely honest with herself, she'd been winging it this entire time.
Daisy stepped onto the elevator and waited for the doors to slide closed. After a few seconds of typing, she had pulled up the security footage of the Avenger's private floors. She double checked that Stark's lab was indeed empty before having Jarvis move the elevator towards that floor. While she slowly ascended, Daisy scoured the footage for the heroes.
"It's too easy," she smirked as she found them. Every one of the Avengers was training in the gym two floors above the labs. All of the Avengers that were currently at the tower anyway.
Talk about perfect timing.
The elevator finally slows to a stop on the floor holding the private labs. When Daisy steps off, she finds herself in a common area with a small private bar. She walks over and helps herself to a drink before walking down the hallway towards her destination. Daisy reaches door to the main lab and uses her connection with Jarvis to unlock the door without issues. She hooks her computer up to Stark's holotable.
When Loki first came to earth to reek havoc, Stark gained access to SHIELD's encrypted files which in turn gave him access to Hydra's files. Daisy's plan was to download the SHIELD and Hydra files onto the drive and then get out of there. She couldn't take down Hydra's online activity without having direct access to their server room, which she knows exactly where it is thanks to her previous occupation. And she needed to create a virus to take it down automatically, hence, stealing the files in the first place.
Daisy was going to take down the organization that put her through so much pain.

A/N: I definitely did not feel like updating so the chapter is a bit short. Next chapter will be longer and will update soon! xoxo
Chapter 6: Intrusion
Chapter Text
15 minutes before Daisy enters Stark's lab...
Steve hits the mat with a thud.
"I let you have that one," he mumbles.
"Sure, Rogers," Natasha smirks as she stepped over him and headed to the bench. She took a seat and drank some water.
All of the Avengers— the ones currently at the tower anyway— were in the gym. Natasha had come up with a new training schedule. Something about everyone getting too comfortable when they weren't actively on mission.
It was safe to say that Tony hated it. But thankfully he had convinced the assassin that he was close to figuring out who the hacker was from a few days ago and he was allowed to sit out this time, on one condition. Tony Stark had to be in Romanoff's eyesight at all times so she could make sure he was actually being productive for an hour.
Talk about being the mom of the group.
Tony was currently sitting on a pile of punching bags with his tablet, trying to ignore the others around him. Sam was visiting his sister, Thor was off world, and Bruce was meditating somewhere or something. And as it turns out, Clint has no understanding of personal space.
"Think fast!" Clint shouted at Tony.
Tony looked up just in time to be hit in between the eyes with a nerf bullet.
"What the hell, Barton?!" he screeched. "I'm doing important work right now. Go back to your targets!"
Clint looked amused. "I had to get your attention somehow," he said. "Did you finish my arrows yet? I want to show Nat."
Natasha looked up from her conversation with Steve at the mention of her name.
"What arrows?" she asked.
Tony sighed, rubbing his face.
"Tony made me a new set of arrows that are exactly like your widow bites. I can even adjust the stun levels. And he said they'd be done by today so I figured since we're already in the training area, I could show you," Clint explained. "So, are they finished?"
"They're finished," Tony stated simply. Clint was about to speak up when Tony cut him off. "And no you can not go grab them from my lab."
Steve pitched in, "They do sound interesting."
"Of course they're interesting. I made them!" Tony exclaimed. "Give me two more minutes to find out who our mystery man is and I'll grab the arrows for you myself."
"Speaking of that little incident, what are we going to do when we find him?" Clint asked. "Can Nat and I track him down? Then I can test out my new— Ow!"
Natasha had smacked him on the side of the head.
"Stop being a child, Clint," she said. "What do you think Cap?"
"I agree that we should track him down, but from what I've heard a hacker won't put up much of a fight."
"You never know," Clint chided. "Tony Stark here is a hacker that puts up a fight."
Stark looks up and rolls his eyes.
"Got it!" Tony exclaims. "It seems that the file deleted was on a high level Hydra operative."
Natasha leans over Tony's shoulder to look at the tablet. "Can you pull up their profile?" she asks.
"Pulling it up now," he said. An image of Daisy in her Hydra uniform appeared on the screen. There was barely any information on her at all, other than the photo and her security status as an operative. "Well that was a lot of work for such a small reveal." Tony handed the tablet over to Steve.
"Is this the person who hacked you?" Steve asked. He took a look at the image of the woman then handed the tablet to Natasha.
Tony looked at the wall in thought. "It's hard to say," he said. "The hack was impossible to trace; all I was able to do is recover the file. It could have been her, but it also could have been some other agent looking to protect this woman." He shrugged.
Clint walked back over to the archery targets and picked up the nerf gun from earlier. He loaded a dart and shot it at Tony, who dodged it, tossing a glare at the archer.
"Can you grab my arrows now?" Clint asked again.
Tony stood up and Natasha handed him the tablet.
"Just this once Legolas," Tony declared. "Next time, you wait until they're added to your inventory."
Tony got a thumbs up from Clint, who went back to target practice, then he walked onto the elevator.
"Take me to my labs Jarvis," he said when the elevator doors closed.
"Of course Boss," the AI chimed back.
The elevator doors opened up to the floor holding Tony's private labs. He walked down to his lab and was seconds from typing in the code to open the door when he glanced up through the glass and paused.
There was a woman standing in the middle of his lab, typing at his holotable.
What the... Tony thought. He reached for the key pad to enter the code to the lab when the woman turned. She didn't turn around completely, but it was enough for him to recognize who she was.
The woman in his lab was the one who's file was deleted from his servers.
She was Hydra!
Tony slowly backed away from the glass door. When he was sure he was out of sight, he ran with everything he had. Tony took the stairs up two levels to the gym where his teammates were. He practically barreled through the door when he reached it.
Everyone responded simultaneously.
"Woah!" Steve shouted.
"Where's my arrows man?" Clint said.
"Since when do you take the stairs?" Natasha asked.
Tony took a few deep breaths before quickly explaining.
"She's-she's in my lab!" he exclaimed, taking another breath. "The Hydra woman from the deleted file is in my lab! She didn't see me, so I made my way back here as quick as possible."
The four Avengers quickly formed a plan to corner the woman and grabbed some of their gear from the training area. They all took the stairs back up to the lab floor. As soon as they opened the door, the small team had their weapons ready. They stepped into the main area of the lab floor and began to walk towards the main hall.
The Avengers rounded the corner at the same time as the woman exited the lab. The woman was holding her left arm to chest as if she was injured. She raised her right arm almost in fear as she noticed the small group of heroes.
"Jarvis, initiate Protocol Haywire!" the girl shouted as she dove into the labs. At her movement, the Avengers ran towards her, but metal barriers came down around the windows of the lab, locking them out.
"What the hell?! That's my protocol! She stole my protocol!" Tony pounded his fist against the metal that had been put in place to protect the labs. "Jarvis override Protocol Haywire," he fumed, but the AI was silent. "This can't be happening again!"
Chapter 7: Robot Leg vs DUM-E
Chapter Text
"Jarvis activate SkyNet!" Daisy shouted as soon as the lab was locked down. During her time on the floor of the Cyber Security Division, Daisy had hacked Jarvis and accessed his commands. She also input a few of her own. SkyNet is a protocol that overrides all of Jarvis' directives and puts all of the AI's attention on her. In otherwords, Jarvis would only listen to commands from Daisy and no one else.
Daisy was hoping to escape the tower before being discovered by the Avengers, but plans change. She didn't download the information onto the hard drive fast enough and now she was trapped in the lab. Fortunately, Daisy had Jarvis under her control and she was secure for the moment while she tried to figure out a plan.
Looking around the lab, Daisy tried to find something that she could use to aide in her escape. For now, the Avengers were stalled, but Daisy wasn't oblivious to the fact that they knew their way around the tower better than she did.
Suddenly, one of the robots in the lab charged towards Daisy with a fire extinguisher spraying wildly. She rolled out of the way of the large bot, grabbing a tool from the floor, and throwing it towards the machine, but it kept rolling towards her. The extinguisher was now empty and a white fog covered the room causing Daisy to cough as she ran to the other side of the lab. She could easily quake the bot, but didn't want to risk injuring herself further.
A spare ironman leg was laying on one of the tables. Daisy picked up the object with a grunt and swung it as hard as she could when the robot rolled towards her. It crashed to the floor, unable to upright itself. Daisy dropped the metal leg and cradled her arm close to her chest. She had to get out of here. Now.
"Jarvis, how do I get out of here?" Daisy asked with a glance up at the ceiling.
No response.
Stark must have figured out a way to shut down the AI remotely. Daisy sprinted across the room to the holotable to try and pull up the building's schematics. Stark was a genius. He had to have created a backdoor out of this place.
Daisy was swiping her way through the buildings blueprints when she heard a metal clanging. Her eyes scoured the room—from the metal walls, to the downed robot, to the ceiling… The vent popped open and Hawkeye dropped down on top of the holotable. Daisy instinctually raised her arm and blasted him into a wall before he even had a chance to lift his bow.
"Ahhh!" Daisy screamed at the pain in her fractured arm. She crouched to the floor behind the holotable and heard a groan from the Avenger. If that blast didn't fully knock him out... Daisy was running out of time. She took the hard drive with the newly downloaded files as her eyes darted around the lab looking for a place to hide it. If Stark got ahold of this hard drive, it would mean the end of her plan to take down Hydra.
Daisy noticed a small crack on the underside of the holotable. She carefully raised her good arm up to the table and quaked it just enough the widen the crack, but keep the electronic table fully entact. Her face contorted with a grimace at the use of her powers again. Carefully holding the small electronic, Daisy placed it in the table.
An explosion rang out from the other side of the metal barriers that were keeping her in the lab and suddenly, the barriers were lifting. Daisy quickly thought through her options. The Avengers were needed if she was to fully accomplish her goal of taking down Hydra. Her hard drive was secure, but Daisy remained too injured to face the group of heroes and escape.
Maybe I should have grabbed my gauntlets after all, she thought.
With the barriers lifted, the Avengers stormed into the room, weapons ready. Daisy sat on the ground leaning against the holotable. Now she just needed to gain the trust of the people who view her as an enemy.
Daisy didn't flinch when Black Widow pulled the trigger of the tranquilizer gun.
Everything would work out according to plan.
SHIELD HQ, aka The Playground...
The metal doors slid open as the agent walking by scanned their badge. They continued down the hallway, away from the landing bay and deeper into the base.
The agent froze as they came upon the labs. They saw a familiar Scottish engineer through the glass windows and their breath shook. It had been months since they'd talked.
They pushed open the door and walked into the lab with tears in their eyes, the engineer still not looking their way.
"Took you long enough to get me those reports," he said. "I've had to move on to other things because I couldn't continue without them."
"Sorry for the delay," the agent spoke softly, with tears streaming down their face.
The engineer turned around surprised.
"Jemma?" he questioned. "How? When?"
"Just now," Agent Simmons replied. "The jet landed 5 minutes ago and I had to come see—"
Leopold Fitz had run up to Jemma, slamming into her with a hug and cutting off her sentence.
"I'm so glad you're back," he smiled. "Where exactly were you sent? No one would tell me anything."
"It's great to be home!" They let go of each other and sat down on the lab chairs. "Oh Fitz, you'll never believe it!"
Jemma started to describe to him about her time in Hydra. She went into detail about the things she experienced while there. That was, until Agent Coulson showed up thirty minutes into her conversation.
"Agent Simmons. Welcome home," Coulson said. "You were supposed to meet me in my office."
"I was on my way there when Fitz saw me and pulled me into the lab to talk."
"Hey!" Fitz shouted at the accusation.
Coulson smirked, "I'm sure that's exactly what happened. Now, how about both of you follow me. We need to debrief on your time in Hydra."
The two agents followed the director into a room with a large meeting table in the middle of it. Sitting around the table was the other high level agents of SHIELD– May, Hunter, Trip, Mack, and Bobbi. They welcomed Jemma back as she, Coulson, and Fitz took their seats.
The group of agents discussed Jemma's time in Hydra and she explained things that she was unable to over the phone. Eventually they got to the topic of what happened on the Maribel Del Mar. The group bounced ideas off of each other about who the woman was and what her intentions were.
Fitz pointed out that the woman's powers seems to be based off of controlling vibrations of some sort, based off of what he had heard. He explained that everything in the world was constantly in motion, even the table they sat at, and that there was a slight possibility that she could control those vibrations.
After a couple hours of discussing, and lots of coffee being drank, Mack pointed out that Fitz had made a unique device while Jemma was gone.
Fitz had a look of realization and knew that if he modified this device, he would be able to track any vibrations that weren't coming directly from the earth. Then they would be able to narrow down which of those vibrations were most likely coming from a person.
"I'm positive it will work!" Fitz exclaimed.
And with a plan in motion, the group dismissed to their rooms. They'd figure out who this mystery girl was soon enough...
A/N: Hey everyone! This is as far as I have written for now, but I have big plans for this story! I'm so sorry for the cliff hanger again.. (they're just SO fun to write!) I am moving overseas in two weeks so writing will look a bit different and updates may be more sporadic. I promise I will do my best to get up another chapter before I leave! Love y'all <3
