Flesh gives way so easily to jagged teeth. A morbid thought crosses Minjeong’s mind and for a brief moment, she wonders how they would feel on her skin. Would she break as easily? How far would those teeth sink in?
Dark eyes dart to her for a moment and it feels like time is slowing down. Goosebumps break across Minjeong’s skin and she can’t help but shudder under the attention of the siren’s gaze. They are like dark pools, beckoning her forth, calling her to wade into the water. Minjeong grips her pen and forcibly tears her eyes away, breathing heavily as she focuses on her notes instead. The melodic hum behind her ears retreat and the quiet drone of the water tank returns.
