Chapter Text

“Call Daniel into my office.” With the sound of a beep from the phone, UN sat there in desperate need of an explanation as he looked at the old screen. Four green dots blinked in unison on the grid map. The dots moved around each other as if they were doing something. “Yes?” A voice interrupted UN’s trail of confused thought as he looked up from the screen and at the country he called in. “America, take a look at this.” He rolled back in his chair, clasping his hands together. America leaned closer to the screen and adjusted his glasses farther up his nose bridge. “How are they alive? I thought they were sent for execution.” America glanced over at the UN with slight disbelief “No, they escaped and we assumed that mobs would do worse than what we could've done.” The UN sat up in his chair “I need you to find more on their location, I need to be sure it's them before I inform EU and ASEAN of my findings.” America nodded but then paused. “Should I tell anyone about that?” The UN nodded slowly with a thoughtful expression before speaking again “Get help from someone in tech, maybe Greece since he doesn't speak much. A man of few words is an excellent option for this sort of information.” UN shooed America out of his office with an expectant smile before turning his attention back to the old computer.

“Greece.” America tapped on his back. Greece gave a hum of acknowledgement when he turned to look at America. “I need you to pull up some records and tracking IDs.” “Which ones?” America let out a slow breath of air. “I can't tell you out in the open.” America motioned his head toward a dark room. It was the break room. No one was using it at the moment so it was dark and empty. America sat Greece down at the small table against the wall in the room as he turned on the light and shut the door. “The records and IDs that need to be pulled up are…” America paused for a second, unwilling to say their names. “Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, Empire of Japan, Kingdom of Italy, and the German Reich”. Greece’s face twisted into surprise. “They're dead.” Greece said bluntly. “Due to recent discoveries we have a reason to believe they're alive and well.” America pushed his glasses up his nose bridge as he sighed “Could you pull them up?” Greece nodded and stood up. Once Greece left the break room America slumped down in the chair across from the one Greece had sat in. He laid his glasses on the table and sighed dramatically as he rubbed his temples. “This’ll be a shit show..” America mumbled to himself. After a few minutes America stood up and slid his glasses back onto his face, trying to sort himself out. As America headed out of the break room he decided to head down towards the Fallen Archive. A multilayered underground compartment full of historical artifacts and stories of fallen nations. As America descended to find the archives of the Axis powers and the USSR,he lost himself in thought until he reached the fifth layer. This is the layer where he’d find the USSR’s Archives. UNION OF SOVIET SOCIALIST REPUBLICS the bold letters read out. America looked at the articles stored behind the glass window. A heavy looking brown uniform, a black eyepatch, two ushankas one gray and the other a deep brown with both adorned by a red star in the center of the hat, a pair of heavy blackcombat boots, a PSS silent pistol with the ammo next to it and a partially burnt Soviet Union flag. America opened the large drawer underneath the glass window to pull out a file. Lev A. Hailovich Soviets real name. America opened the file and was greeted with Soviet’s birth certificate, December 30, 1901. It was highly celebrated since it was the birth of a new nation. While America skimmed through the pages in the file he noticed something. There was no official death date, not a single real date in sight. It just says UNSPECIFIED. Once America finished with the file he headed down again. Once he came to the end of the hall on the sixth layer he paused as he looked up at the plaques next to each other. THE GERMAN REICH, KINGDOM OF ITALY, EMPIRE OF JAPAN. America looked at the contents of the conjoined space for the Axis’s articles; the first drawer he opened was Reichs. Adam K. Schäfer. Reichs birth certificate was missing the signature of a father on his birth certificate. America skimmed through his files the same way he did Soviet’s. Once America read all the way to the page with a death stamp the same underlined and bolded word that was printed on Soviets. UNSPECIFIED. America's suspicion raised further. He wanted to believe those green lively dots were some sort of malfunction but it was starting to look like it wasn’t a malfunction at all. Next he looked at Italy’s file. Bruno G. Russo. Italy's file looked just the same as everyone else's so far. The page where he assumed it'd just say unspecified just like the rest. It didn't. Instead it had a brief statement that read “Small blood stains and signs of struggle found in the main office. A torn piece of a leather glove found on broken glass. Blood found on the ground from a heavy object being thrown from a window.” America stared for a second. Was he dead or not? America had never read any of their files; all he had known was that their bodies were never found. The longer he looked at Italy’s the more he thought to himself about what actually happened. He put Italy’s away and proceeded to Japan’s. Ryoto A. Kirigiri. That last name looked familiar but America didn't think much about it. When he skipped everything and went straight for the death section. When he laid eyes on a photo, a grotesque image of what looked like Japan hung upside down with symbols carved into his body and glass sticking from some gashes. The image made America sick. He rushed to put up the file; he didn't even want to look at the rest since there seemed to be more than one photo. A relieved sigh escaped him once he put it away. To ease his mind from that disturbing picture he looked at the glass case that held the Axis’s old articles. Their uniforms looked nice. Italy’s uniform looked high end and heavy. The belt that went with his uniform was black with a golden. The stark white mixed with the black and bronze gold made it look well made. Reich’s uniform looked like how anyone would think it'd look. An all black uniform endowed with the silver of a medium sized swastika pin. Japan’s was just a shade of jungle green with a thick black belt that had pouches hanging from it. Before he could get a better look at anything else he heard footsteps from behind him. “The files are gone.” America turned to see an out of breath Greece. “What do you mean they’re gone?”

Chapter Text

Hello everyone, it's been a long time! I am very proud to announce, though, that a teaser for this book will be released very soon!
I'm also excited to announce art for the teaser as well! Unlike how I did this the first time, chapters will NOT be released in bundles and will have individual release dates noted at the end of each chapter. Seasonal fics will occasionally come out as well if they don't get in the way of a chapter release date. This book is getting reworked entirely, along with the tags. If wanted ill leave the OG first chapter up, but it will no longer go with the story.

Be very excited for the teaser, everyone! The release date will be unveiled soon! <3
