Scar backed away as the towering entity stood up from its dormant position. It took up all of Scar’s view as the giant body twisted and turned, growing larger and larger. Scar was frozen on the spot, unable to take his eyes off the behemoth.
The being finally stopped, head high above the trees. Scar couldn’t even make out its face from down on the ground. The being let out a noise that sounded a lot like a groan and then large, purple wings shot out from its back stretching far into the horizon on either side. Scar couldn’t take his eyes off the massive wings. There were so many of them, and they all glowed a nice gentle purple.
The giant let out another groan like noise, and then the wings retreated back. Curling behind the massive frame of the giant. Though the glowing purple didn’t fade and instead now appeared to light up the body from behind, making the behemoth look absolutely ethereal.
The head of the giant tilted downwards and Scar could only make out the purple glow of the eyes honing right on him. The sight sent a shiver down Scar’s spine and he was, once again, unable to tear his eyes away. The glowing orbs narrowed and then the giant body shifted again, this time lowering itself. Its knees bent above Scar and Scar took more steps back to get out from right underneath.
The being was now crouched, hovering over Scar. Scar could now make out the face, which looked human but…not. The glowing purple eyes with a strange symbol replacing the pupils, the sharp fangs filling the too wide mouth, the purple feathers jutting out of the side of the head matching the wings on the being’s back. All these things gave way to the fact that this being was far from human.
Well, all that and the size, of course.
The mouth opened and Scar got a nice look at the fangs, sharp and able to tear him apart in seconds if they so wished.
“Scar, what are you doing?” A voice came out of that same mouth, loud but not unbearably so. Scar tore his eyes away from the mouth and focused on the eyes, which were filled with a familiar exasperation.
Scar grinned. “You’ve been asleep for ages now G! I was starting to get bored!” Scar said back, yelling just a bit in order to be heard better.
Grian titled his head and let out a sigh, the simple action causing a wind to pick up around Scar. “I was hoping to maybe get a bit more sleep.” Grian muttered to himself, but of course Scar could still hear it.
A large hand came rushing toward Scar but he didn’t so much as flinch as the hand wrapped around his frame and lifted him up. Grian stood up once again, this time with Scar in hand, and lifted him up so the human was at face level. “But I’m already up now, so I guess you get your way.” He said and Scar grinned, even after Grian nudged him on the chest with a large finger. “This time.” Grian said, unable to keep the smile off his face.
Grian’s body turned and he started walking, a destination already in mind. “How does pranking Mumbo sound?” Grian suggested, his smile turning mischievous.
Scar matched it. “Oh, I think I already have some ideas…”
