To say Steve was confused was an understatement, for some reason he was left here, in the wheeler's basement with none of less, Mike fucking wheeler.
Everyone else had left to go get supplies and stuff, and he had been told "stay here with him, don't even ask me why" by a very noticeable anxious Nancy, and then everyone else had left
Like what the fuck!?

Steve had been passing by the stairs for he doesn't even know how long biting and picking at his nails, well mike just sat on the couch completely zoned out picking at his hands and playing with his hair
"Hey, mike" Steve mumbled
Mike just replied with a hmm sound, not looking at him
"How come you didn't go with them? And how I'm stuck here with you?" Steve sighed, sitting on the stairs
Mike looked up and tilted his head
After a moment he shrugged
Steve just sighed and then got back up and continued pacing.

Mike had watched as Steve paced for about five minutes contemplating his next move and arguing with his foggy brain before he got up and stopped Steve from his pacing and wrapped his arms around the brunette and buried his head in his shoulder
"Woah! Hey...you okay?" Steve had asked, hesitantly wrapping his arms around the other
"Mhm...you just looked sad" Mike yawned words muffled
"Oh...okay," Steve says, fighting off tears and failing
